Answering The Call (Ra'ema & Aerion)

"It's true. There has never been a Koni male. The Koni are an all female race..." She barely heared his next question, but how could she say no to a question like that? It would be an honor to teach another person to swim, she saw it as away to teach him of her culture. "Yes, I would love to teach you the how to swim. Though I do not know how good of a teacher I will be..." She said this with a kind smile. She knew she could tell him how to swim, but she has never tought anyone anything before as her role is usually the student.

"Maybe in turn you could teach me something as well? As a sort of payment for the swimming lessons."

Aerion considered her deal, then he said, "The only skills that I have which would be of use to one such as you, that would not take a very long time, or that I have the ability to teach with what I have now, are my longsword skill, my tracking, and my riding skill. Unless you would like to go outside the city one day and have me show you a little bit about hunting." He looked at her as he finished, wondering how she would respond. Still bobbing around on Teren's back.

He knew someone as seemingly soft skinned as her might not be able to handle the strenuous dealings of smithing, and the only wilderness survival he had really learned so far had been on the plains, weeks from here, so he hoped she would be able to choose one of the options he gave her.

She considered the options Aerion had given her and it was true, she was not a violent person at all. In fact her being 'blessed' with a gnosis mark of healing so she couldn't allow herself unless it was absolutely necessary. Her only real option was tracking and it would come in handy so she decided on asking to learn that.
"I suppose tracking would be a good skill to learn."

She watched Aerion as he continued to hold onto Teren. "Shall I teach you how to swim now or have you had too much trauma for one day?" She said this half jokingly and half seriously.

Aerion smiled as he heard tracking, while it could be a difficult subject to learn, the basics were pretty simple compared to the other things he had offered. He responded, giving a thin smile, "Sure, I'll teach you some tracking, but I think I have had enough trauma for one day." As he started speaking, Teren started swimming to the nearest access point for someone in the water. As he made it ashore, he heard Mar'lis and Ra'ema follow them.

Getting off of Teren, he decided to walk over and sit on the nearest solid piece of earth, thankful to be back on solid ground, he heaved a sigh of relief. Teren followed him and snorted in his hair, Aerion knew his friend was apologizing for scaring him so badly. "It's alright Teren, you were just trying to ease our moods. Thank you for trying my friend." He smiled at Teren and ran his hand through the horse's mane with one hand, and rubbing down his neck with the other, showing him that he accepted the apology. "There are very few things I would not forgive you of, we have been through so much together." He whispered to the horse, his voice carrying over to the others but not realizing it, "You have saved my life, and I have saved yours, you thought it would be a funny joke, but you forgot about my last experience with the water..." Teren snorted sadly, "It's alright, I do forgive you." He said, smiling at the horse and hugging his head.

Ra'ema couldn't help but be interested in what Aerion was saying. She knew it was wrong to listen in on their conversation, but as always her curiosity kept her attention. In hearing that he had some other traumatic experience with water she became even more interested.

She stayed just by the shore of the lake, the soft waves hitting the back of her ankles. She had almost asked a question about that experience, but she quickly shut her mouth not wanting him to know she was listening in.

Mar'lis stood slightly in front of Ra'ema watching the exchange between Aerion and Teren and almost as if she was jealous she turned around and nudged Ra'ema's arm wishing to petted. Ra'ema let out a soft chuckle raising her hand to pet her damp mane. "Feeling jealous are we? Don't give me that whole I neglect you bit. You know very well I love and care about about you." She said this with a smile to reassure her that her words were true.

Aerion looked over at the Konti as she indulged Mar'lis' jealousy, he couldn't help but smile at the sight. He got up and walked over to them, when he reached them he said, "Well thank you for the fun trip into sea, I hope to never have that much fun again." A wry smile forming on his lips as he mentioned his 'fun'.

He stared at Ra'ema, once again noticing her scales as they were still more visible against her skin than when he first saw her, yet they were slowly disappearing as she was leaving the water. Feeling he might be acting rude, he said, "I'm sorry for my staring, I know it is rude, however I have never met a Konti before, and find myself staring without meaning to."

She shook her head quickly dismissing his apology. "It's alright, I am sure I would do the same. Though yes staring is rude I think I'll be able to forgive you this time." Walking a bit more out of the water she looked down at her semi-wet clothes sighing a bit. "And trust me I do not plan on having 'fun' like this again any time soon...At least not while wearing a new dress." She frowned knowing that this dress would never look quite as nice again.

She shot an angry glance at Mar'lis. "It's all your fault, I hope you know that." She childishly stuck out her tongue as she was only joking to be angry. "I'd make you pay for a new one too, if you had some money that is." She quickly pecked Mar'lis' forehead as a way to show she forgave her.

Aerion laughed and noticed that the sun was starting to go down. "Well I think I had best head to my camp outside the city. I would like to reach there before dark, I will see you again sometime Ra'ema. Most likely feeling a call to defend you against some giant monster that could step on me and squish me." He chuckled a bit and swung up onto Teren.

"Stay safe, and I will come if you need help, the gods will see to that." He bowed while astride Teren, backing up and turning him around, he broke into a slow trot. Heading to the gates, hoping that the sun would stay up just a little longer.

She waved him off as she watched him ride away. "Thank you, I shall try my best to stay safe." She said this practically to herself as she didn't want to raise her voice.

Once Aerion had gotten further away she turned back towards the lake and walked over to the dock. Mar'lis walked behind her, but stayed a rather safe distance from the edge of the dock. Ra'ema however walked all the way to the end, she looked out to the setting sun. Admiring it's beauty she sat down on the edge of the dock, watching the sky turn from blue to magical pinks and oranges. The dock was short enough that she could just barely stick her toes in the water. As she enjoyed the views she started to space out her mind in another world.

She often did this, odd situations that she'd completely made up had her giggling to herself. It was moments like this were she wished she could share her odd daydreams, but as she looked back to Mar'lis she sighed...At least Mar'lis will listen. She looked back over to the lake and told Mar'lis her daydream again giggling as she went into all the details of the story.
