Images of Ellen crying as Kaik held a bloody dagger flicker through his mind. Then unfamiliar voices shouted at him.
“Why did you do it?!”
“Killer!”
“Murderer!”
His own trembling voice shouted back at them, “No! I- I-...”
”Do you feel nothing?”
“Why do you not feel nothing?”
”Did you enjoy it?
“No no no...I feel it...I didn’t-” An image of Ellen appeared before him.
“Kaik...you… have become a monster...to play with life as if it was a toy...those men you killed and your dolls...what have you become? Pay for your actions!” A dagger plunged into Kaik’s heart.
He woke up frantically soon realizing it was only a dream. Regaining his sense of what was real and what was not he finally took notice to Arya standing by his bed. Kaik had begun to understand Arya’s emotions in the long time he had spent with her, even if her face would not show it. “It’s okay Arya...I’m fine.” At the moment he was no where near fine but he wanted to at least calm her. Arya began to relax, her body stopped shaking. Kaik got off the bed and walked toward Oliver who sat motionless on a chair near the unlit hearth. Lina sat comfortably on Iris’s shoulder while Iris herself stood near a corner of the room. “Wake up Oliver, your service is needed.” Oliver turned his head to face his “father” as soon as he heard the awakening phrase, “Fath-er?” Oliver said, “Hm...his voice still needs work.”
It was nearly time for Kaik to leave for work so he quickly dressed Arya and Oliver in the appropriate attire. While Arya wore her normal cloak and dagger Oliver wore an attire similar to Kaik though he too wore a cloak. Kaik was hesitant as to bring both Arya and Oliver along but it would prove a good way to test out Oliver’s performance outside.
The dollmaker and his dolls arrive at the plain door with the scrawled words “Animation Studio!” on it. “Maeki...sometimes I wonder if you left it at ‘Animation Studio’ just because you could not have come up with any better name.” With such idle thoughts in mind he entered the studio closing the door behind him.
The constant chatter of the crowds now gone Kaik could hear voices coming from the left into the actual animation studio. “-hen can we get started?” from the voice alone Kaik would wager it was a young man, “Others will be coming, please wait...ah Kaik! I am glad you’ve arrived.” Kaik walked into the room with Arya hiding behind him and Oliver staying relatively close to his right. “Is he one of the people who were supposed to show up?” the stranger asked. The man looked young though it felt as if he slightly older than Kaik, he had blue eyes and short blonde hair. Maeki sat near her desk, “No no Kaik is my assistant...he will be helping us today!” Kaik was not made aware of what exactly he would be helping with so he had to ask, “Um...exactly what will I be doing today?”
