Awhile trying to get a handle on things starting out I need some advice about a subject. My character is going to be a member of the Benshira race. What I got in mind that he is from the city of Yahebah. I already got possible ideas for his personality and traits but I'm trying to figure out what his background or profession can be. I'm going for either a son of rapa(priest), or one of the Yahalmen(police). What I'm hoping to do with this guy is get him out of his comfort zone in order go on an personal journey out of his homeland. So my question which background would be more fun and fitting for such a role?
An adventurer would be a lot more fun! They both would work in the city, though the priest may journey to convert. Leaving home at a younger age to "Find oneself" Is a good start for Background.
P.S: Benshira aren't a subrace of Human. And the Location is for IC.
"This is Common" This is thoughts. "This is Symenos" This is Writing
I think a traveling priest (or son of a priest, or priest-to-be) would be really interesting. I'm not sure I've ever seen any character set out to be a priest professionally. Or have family who were professional priests. And I could see one such traveling for personal/spiritual growth.
Conversely, there are lots of warriors, guards, and children of warriors/guards running about.
Either way, if your character passes through Endrykas in Fall or future seasons, let me know! I'd be happy to thread with you.
Good point, I guess I'll just have him either to have been raised in a family of priests but didn't complete his training in the profession or have lived a poorer background, mentored by a Son of Rapa during his early childhood and looked at the priest as a father figure. Which of these options would be okay to go for?
Either background could work! Since you can't start with more than one gnosis mark a possible reason for your travel could be to prove yourself to your god and earn the other two marks to be a priest. Just throwing that idea out there, but in the end it's up to you!
