Sorcha had been putting it off since she was told to study the language of Nader-Canoch. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to learn it, in fact it was in her best interest to learn it, but it was going to be a long and tedious task and she was not looking forward to sitting in a library when she could be in a lab. The Eypharian entered the library with her dark eyes scanning the general section of the library where shelves towered even higher than her own unusual height. In her hands she held a few pieces of paper, a quill and some ink to take notes as she learned, placing them down on a table she looked up at the rest of the room. There were golems posted around the library waiting to take instructions to gather books for those who need them.

Sorcha strode up to one of the catalogue golems to ask them to gather her some books so that the process could go quicker. “I need a simple book that comes in common and Nader-Canoch.” The golem just stared forward, unmoving to her request making the tall woman frown. “Can you hear me?” Silence stretched even heavier than before and Sorcha looked around hoping no one was watching her utterly fail with the golem. Looking back she prodded the creature gently “I need you to find me a book, isn’t that what you’re here for?” Frustration settled in her bones as still there was no response. It was like she was invisible to the golem and she wasn’t exactly hard to miss.

There was nothing easy on this island, she wasn’t sure if there was a phrase she was supposed to say or if there was a gesture she was supposed to make in order to get the golem’s attention. A few more minutes were spent with her making some odd gestures and faces at the creature before she finally gave up and turned towards the stacks of books giving up on them helping her. Under her breath she muttered lewdly at the golems, calling them names that would make a mother faint if she was to be heard. The titles that stretched along the bindings of each book were mostly written in the ancient language she couldn’t read, for all she knew one book was about how to tie knots and another was about the magical secrets of the universe.

It was about a bell of painstaking searching and only understanding a few titles before she found a book that was stated to be written in both common and Nader-Canoch. It was a book on the history of sahova and after a few pages of flipping through it the book seemed to be rather plain in description but that was fine with her. In fact the book would probably be easier to learn from when it was less descriptive then if it was full of statistical embellishments. Pulling the text from the shelf the apprentice moved to fold herself into a chair at a desk and she opened the book, careful not to crack the binding. Pulling her paper closer she dipped her quill into the ink and scrawled in small text up at the top:

"A History of Sahova"

"Zapatl Image"

Below those words were what she hoped to assume the same only in the Ancient Tongue she was trying to learn. She copied that next to the common words so that she had a quick reference in the future text to be able to decipher what each word actually was. There was a weird symbol beside the word Zapatl but her copying was as exact as she could be, the circle and the line crossing as one. She was unsure if the language had the same order as common and it would take some digging to figure that out.
