Location Bijou Pavilléon

Luxury Suites within the Pavilléon.

This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

ImageUnlike most of Kenash, which caters not to visitors of any sort, the Pavilléon found a need to house guests of all sorts. Nine floors of brick tower upon one another, each floor housing twenty suites, each of which is comprised of two rooms and are meant for two people. A bedroom and a lounge, each of which is decorated with the best finery Kenash could import from across Mizahar.

Paintings are commissioned and change to match the themes that the Pavilléon takes upon mustering with the changing of the Watchtowers. Meant to be the luxurious dens to shelter oneself from the overwhelmingly decadent nature of the Pavilléon, it fails in its task, bringing it to where one sleeps, instead. Beds made from down from the finest pygulls catches the tired bodies of wealthy patrons. Glasses made of pristine crystal are kept for guests to use at their own discretion, though slaves enter each occupied room at three intervals throughout the day (seventh bell after midnight, third bell after noon, and ninth bell after noon.)

ImageRich oak is the staple of the suites of the Bijou Pavilléon, though the materials that sheet the tables and cover the chairs also adjust with the seasons. In the Fall, a silky pattern is taken, elegance personified as the rest of the Pavilléon takes up the mantle of black and white masquerade. In this season, when a room is checked, a slave places two masques, one black and one white, per person staying inside of the room, to a maximum of four.

In the Winter, masquerade is abandoned in favour of patterns of blue and green swept into swirls of water and pasture. In the Spring colours become brighter with the return of masks, patterns iridescent in nature, not quite claiming an exact, proprietary hue. Summer takes wooden tones and brings them to life in the Bijou Pavilléon, masks fading into obscurity once again in favour of a much more whimsical, yet refined fashion.

Two of the suites on the bottom floor in Bijou Pavilléon are taken out of cycling for rent, instead turned into a storefront. In this storefront, the finest liquor, jewelry, and finery are available for sale. There are also a variety of lovely female (and male, to a lesser extent) slaves; human, Kelvic and the rare Konti in variety, available for solicitation.

NPCs
ImageName: Timult Askara
Race: Human
DoB: 87th of Spring, 481
PoB: Kenash
Title: Master of the Bijou Pavilléon
Skills: 67 Business Management, 62 Organization, 50 Acting, 34 Persuasion, 28 Singing, 22 Dance, 19 Seduction
Gnosis: None.
Additional Info: Timult was raised in Sweet Home Askara, a logical, if eccentric mind raised by those who lived merely in the realm of the first. Never in the limelight in his own family, the young Timult instead sought to familiarize himself with the city. A highly intelligent man capable of changing his personality and receptivity to others at the blink of an eye, Timult rapidly found success as an entrepreneur, turning his Dynasty loan into an investment, which quickly prospered and not only returned his stake but doubled it. He invested further in the very first business, the shoe store of a fellow Askara and though it prospered for years, Timult decided that he was done with it.

Ruthless was a word used to describe Timult's entrepreneurial mindset. Some could call him a visionary, and perhaps they were correct; as everything he invested in seemed to turn to gold. In a short span of five years, the man amassed a sizable fortune of his own, but desired more. Further investments, dealings with other Dynasties and what some could equate to betrayal of the Askara family itself, it seemed that Timult Askara was absolutely intent on making it on his own. In the Fall of 514, with the opening of the Bijou Pavilléon, he cemented this, investing all of his fortunes in the place and making a final bet that he was sure that he would win.

It is Timult's fascination with masquerade that influences a single season in the Pavilléon into the theme, and two within his own section of it. He adores theatre, dance, and the pleasures of Kenashian life and makes it a point to make the last two in particular available in plenty for all who take residence in his suites. He can often be heard singing in his personal suite, though for reasons unknown, both theatre and song are absent from his available services in the Bijou Pavilléon.

ImageName: Esmena
Race: Human
DoB: 32nd of Fall, 491AV
PoB: Kenash
Title: Maid at Bijou Pavilléon
Skills: Cleaning 30, Seduction 15, Acrobatics - 10, Cobbling 5
Gnosis: None
Additional Info: Having attracted the attention of Sorenson Askara at the tender age of 14, Esmena had years to build up his trust in her, and to use all the feminine wiles at her disposal to tie him to her. She has, in fact, managed to elevate herself to the dubious honor of personal slave, and spends much of her time accompanying him to his shop and about town as he sees fit.

Patrons of Soles for Sale often saw her lounging about on the comfortable seating, generally providing eye candy to any who wander in. If the shop becomes overly busy, she also deigned to help customers with merchandise questions and advice. All in all, Esmena was more like a pampered companion than a slave. This irked no small number of Dynasty members, but most were willing to write off the anomaly as just another Askara quirk.

However, when Sorenson Askara was stripped of his business by Timult in order to build Bijou Pavilléon upon the decaying ruins of Sorenson's incompetence... most saw that Esmena got what she deserved. She no longer lounges about, but works incessantly to clean occupied rooms of the patrons of the suites. Timult runs her on a tight leash and makes sure that she ends her nights tired and broken, though he is not cruel to her.

"Her comeuppance has arrived. My cousin had no control over Esmena. I do, it's very simple," are the words that Timult Askara uses to describe Esmena in her new situation.

Original NPC credits to Opal Draer, though the location has been seized and liquidated in order to build the Bijou Pavilléon.

Name: Remesca
Race: Human
DoB: 1st of Winter, 490
PoB: Kenash
Title: Professional Slave, Keeper of Slaves and Storefronts at Bijou Pavilléon
Skills: 32 Business Management, 30 Mathematics, 28 Bookkeeping, 26 Negotiation, 12 Seduction, 5 Dance.
Gnosis: None.
Additional Info: Both lover and worker for Timult Askara, this woman serves him as his personal pleasure slave as well as the manager for the resources within Bijou Pavilléon that are not of direct interest to him. Timult and Remesca met in the year 512, and he purchased her immediately, seeing the utility in her ability to engage in mathematics. No fan of the business of crunching numbers, he relied on her to take over that aspect of his business for her, and she earned him a significant flow of revenue. Grateful for her service, he elevated her to the status of professional slave, assigning her the storefront when Bijou Pavilléon was constructed.

A direct soul, she does not take an interest in mincing words, and has no desire to satisfy the desires of anyone aside from her master directly, though she does take care in recommending proper 'wares' for her patronage to invest in.
