Allo, Kenash!

With the season change upon us, I've introduced a new section within the city of Kenash known as the Pavilléon. It will be involved in quite a few of the city's plots for the season, but outside of the associated event, entrance is extremely exclusive. The Divide entrance location explains the exact requirements to enter.

PS: The Pavilléon is, as of yet, unfinished. But, I'm getting there.

But to put them in here, too...

Seasonal trends: Veils, brocade patterns (darker colours and silver thread are most 'in'), top hats for men, a walking stick is unnecessary, but often seen as a positive when used to accessorize an outfit (Zulaca-heavy trend). In the East Bank, to commemorate the opening of the Pavilleon, masquerade has become popurla.

People of Kenash.

I've noticed recently that all of my Dynasts have been underplaying their position in the city. There are distinctions between looking to your fellow Dynasts and Freeborn, and I have to insist that ALL Dynasty members have been raised believing themselves to be untouchable. They've been raised in an atmosphere that hails shrewdness, narcissism and superiority of Kenashian blood above all else.

Yes, I realize that people have their personalities and can choose to be as they will. You can hate social excursion yet still thrive in it. You can empathize with slaves and yet be completely sure of their place in the city. It's not so black and white as to be rich to be a Dynast. Freeborn can be rich, too. Freeborn can have power, too.

The real power in a Dynast is bred in. You are raised with power over grown men and women from birth. You command slaves as a child and live an existence of privilege, knowing full well that there are others that you are better than. That there are people who need to prove their worth to you. And, you're immune to any laws that aren't directly applicable to business. A Dynast's only worry in this world is how other Dynasts see them (and for PC's, money vs. expenses, but that's your fault if you can't count your ledger)

All of the insecurity and even fear that I see in the portrayal of Dynasts is so out of character for how all of them are raised that I find it kind of ridiculous when it's made clear in the very writing of the laws in the city of Kenash that you are superior to the vast majority of the city.

Basically, this is me as Vice saying for all of the Dynasts who have been playing as of late to stop being such damn pussies and throw your weight around.

PS: I wanted to use the Mod intervention template I have and it amused me to use it for this purpose.

Hello Kenash!

Soon-to-be new resident here. Solara will be washing ashore to Kenash on the first of this season, disoriented and amnesiatic from her Fall. Vice and I have discussed her situation, and it seems she'll be a slave! If there are any PCs willing to cough up 100 GM to register her, she'll be yours!

Well, that's what I want to say, but we'll have to see. I'm also buying another slave this season, and that will leave me even cheaper. If it's possible, though, most definitely.

I believe she will be purchased and owned by the Sitai family, but as business goes, slaves can be traded and sold to whomever. So perhaps they'll grow tired of her and sell her! Or be horrified that she turns into a Zith once the sun sets, in which case they want to dispose of her... The latter would be quite unpleasant.

At the very least I would love to have a thread with you, and not just because Eggs Benedict Cumberbottom makes me tremble in feminine appreciation.

She turns into a Zith at night? She's definitely viable to be killed. Zith are killed on sight in Kenash.
