With a frown Evalin pressed her hands against the stone floor of the cavern, her face a mask of concentration as her mind whirled in an effort to decipher a new mystery. Just the day before she had seen it, she was certain. With her power, the very ground was torn asunder... but now, why was it that she could not repeat this feat? Tsenrika floated off to the side, lazily drifting as he observed the goings on, though Evalin ignored him.

"Be damned... What was the secret, the key which unlocked this new wonder..." She whispered to herself, her fingers curling into a fist as she bit her lip, "Surely it is not so difficult as that which I see now."

"Consider you," Tsenrika said, coming closer, "That what you saw was nothing more than coincidence."

Glancing sideways Evalin sighed, "In this world there is no such thing. There are those who control that which they do, and those that do not. Refuse I to believe that what occurred is not within my own control."

Evailn could almost see Tsenrika shrug despite his sphere shaped form, "If such be your desire..."

Evailn sighed and looked back to her hand which were still pressed against the ground. How had she done it? Closing her eyes Evailn let herself drift back, to wonder, to ponder. What was it she had thought of when the very earth cracked under her might?

From her inner core Evalin pulled at her djed, letting her res slip from between her fingers into the ground, swirling just beneath the surface in a lazy motion as the Immortal let her mind drift back. She remembered the fight between herself and Tsenrika, the strength they displayed, the might, the power. He was bearing down upon her, words of victory lacing his tongue and his thoughts. She could remember it well, but more than that she felt that rise in her chest, that part of her that exclaimed in passionate force 'I shall not be defeated'. The stubborn refusal to be moved, the power to withstand any blow, the will to never bend and never break. That was what she remembered.

Her brow furrowed in concentration as she brought to bear the images of that time. She refused to give up, refused to back down. Unmoving as the Mountains, as strong as stone. She would not be broken, but harden would her resolve. She let it consume her, fill her mind and soul as rage consumed her when she let forth the fire of her heart. More and more, the weight of this imagining grew, greater and greater such that Evalin could almost feel it pressing upon her shoulders and her arms trembled against the ground. But she did not give up, did not pull back, did not allow herself to bend. And then...

CRACK!

Evalin blinked her eyes open, the weight gone as she looked down between her hands. THere, larger than in the jungle, was a crack where her res had seeped into the stone of the cave. In an instant stone fractured and split, unable to handle the burden of an Immortal's will.

The nuit smiled, "Think you still that it was but a coincidence?"

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

"Thus it seems a coincidence it is not." said Tsenrika, though his tone was not one that gave either approval or rebuttal.

Sitting back Evalin brought her hands before her eyes, a small smile playing her lips as she glanced sideways at the orb, "Now do not become to enthused by this discovery." To which the Familiar gave an image of the rolling of eyes before floating off to some corner, leaving the nuit to laugh and look back at her hands and to focus her mind to the new task at hand, "How to control this..."

Pulling from her well of power once more Evalin summoned a small portion of her res to flow between her two palms, the substance no bigger than the nuit's thumb. Furrowing her brown Evalin then began to concentrate, focusing on the little amount of res that hovered before her eyes. The res was gelatinous, a form she rarely (if ever) used when performing this type of magic. To the nuit it seemed the most logical. In order to create earth or stone one should begin with a state of res that was as close to it already as possible. She then brought to the front of her mind the thoughts that guided her before. Firmness, a stubborn will. Immovable. Such qualities were held in earth, and such things Evalin would need to adapt within herself to master this change in nature. Calm quiet, similar to the tranquility of water, yet it was not restful. More so that it was ready for anything, a bracing of spirit and self for whatever might be thrown.

"Firm as the earth..." Evalin whispered softly, "Unmoving as the Mountains."

Biting her lip Evalin curled her fingers slightly around the res between her hands, pushing in upon it with her will as she summoned for the element of interest, "Deep as the caverns, strong as stone." She let it build, greater and greater, concentrating on the res, letting these thoughts and imaginings fill her completely until she heard a thud, small but noticeable.

Opening her eyes Evalin looked between her hands where the res had been but was no more, but there upon the ground at her knees there now rested a little stone, the size of Evalin's thumb, uneven and jagged, but so very real. Reaching forward Evalin took it between her forefinger and thumb, bringing it to her eyes to look upon it and chuckled, "A stone from nothing at all. Wonders my dear Tsenrika. Wonders."
