1 Fall 514 A.V.
Late Afternoon

Ebbagale sauntered into the Labor Aid Office late in the afternoon. The space inside the small building was simplistic and utilitarian. Thankful for the cooler temperatures inside, Ebb approached the large oak desk in the center of the room and addressed the secretary working diligently behind it. "Pardon me," she asked in crisp, practiced Tukant with the kind of clear, polished perfection that belied the effort with which she struggled with the language. For a brief moment the secretaries pen, which to that point had been racing across page after page of paperwork, paused briefly and met Ebbagale's eyes."I am seeking employment in the city..." Before she could even continue the male intergected. "Please fill out the following," he asked, pushing a single form across the desk toward her. With a flick of his wrist he sent her to one of the seats available at either side of his desk and then returned nonchalantly to his work. With a heavy sigh Ebbagale moved toward the indicated seat. More forms. It seemed all day had been nothing but a cascading avalanche of paperwork. Thankfully this one was short.

Name: Ebbagale Tidemount

Age: 23
Relevant Skills: Sailing, Navigation, Shipbuilding

Flashing a captivating smile that lit up her eyes Ebbagale returned to the desk and quietly placed the paper on the desk between them. She needn't interrupt the man's work this time, but instead waited patiently and demurely for him to finish in his own time.

13th Bell

It had taken Marion some time to find the office -- probably more than it should have, despite stopping multiple times to ask for directions from oddly colored men who always seemed more than happy to help her. This place was starkly different from Sunberth, it hadn't taken her long to realize that. The people here were neither skittish nor crude, and everyone seemed to be healthy. There was no ever-present stench, no sudden distant cries for help, no street rats -- literal or figurative -- scurrying through dimly-lit alleys. Idly, she wondered if the latter was truly due to a healthy economy or if anyone below a certain poverty line was simply deported.

She herself seemed haggard to the standards here, though that could be easily excused by the fact that she had only just arrived. She would need to buy new clothes eventually. Soon. For now, she had donned the best clothes she had -- a ramie tunic, tucked rather haphazardly into loose black pants that tightened at the knee. A long coat that had certainly seen better days was tugged snugly about her body, complemented by heavy leather boots and a pair of gloves to match. The style gave her a masculine look which had served her well in the city of anarchy, but now seemed wholly out of place, especially when coupled with her delicate features.

The Office was only sparsely furnished and quite plain, and Marion regarded it with some level of disdain despite her own current utilitarian appearance. Another one of the colorful men she'd seen so many of sat behind the desk and glanced up from his work as she approached. "Hello." She had picked up a few words in Tukant from a few too-friendly local men. It felt clumsy on her tongue, and seemed to twist syllables together in a way that was far more complex than it needed to be, but she spoke it with no hesitation as she leaned her hip in the desk. "I'm looking for a job."

The man nodded as if he had already known this, passing her a slip of paper and a quill. "You'll need to fill this out, please."

This was certainly a change of pace from Sunberthian life. Marion looked over the sheet, examining what would be required of her before she dared put ink to paper.

Name? She had used a variety in Sunberth, though she saw no reason why any of them should follow her here. A girl with many faces would garner many names, but for now, in this place, she was just Marion. And making up a name on some kind of official city document seemed like a bad idea.

Skills? She had many, but few she was eager to share. This city seemed stable -- peaceful, even -- and she doubted writing "terrorizing the general populace" would get her anything but the boot. Preferred employment? She had no idea. Did a place like this make use of interrogation? Probably not her version. But morphing had a number of uses.

Name: Marion Kay
Race: Human
Age: Nineteen
Relevant Skills: Morphing, Interrogation, Acting. Some Unarmed Combat and Dagger skills.
Preferred Employment: Performer? Actor? Bouncer? Interrogator? Anything works for me.
Expected Stay In Riverfall: I don't have plans to leave.

She handed it back to him, a wry grin creeping its way onto her face. "I'm tougher than I seem, I assure you," she breezed with a wink, gesturing to a couple of the skills and jobs she had listed.
Show me a hero and I'll write you a tragedy.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Theophates on December 3rd, 2014, 5:05 pm

17th Summer, 420 A.V.

Syna kissed his bald head with her rays as the Ethaefal crossed the cobbled path to the squat Labor Aide building. A congregation of youthful Akalaks, just boys presently, jostled and teased each other as he slid past them. He was glad to finally get this housing business sorted, and looked forward to seeing if the city could use him for anything.

The Akalak who administered all the paperwork was an imposing figure, as so many of the midnight warriors were. Theophates enjoyed the city for its warriors. Their long life made companionship far easier and he felt a special affinity towards them. He coughed politely when it was his turn to approach the desk, and bowed his head once Malin and Malix glanced up.

"Fair days, sir. I am here to deposit my paperwork. A housing request as well as a labor form." Theophates did not enjoy the paperwork in any city, but here it was decently streamlined. He did not, however, want to waste the Akalak's time if there was no need for such dalliance.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Alcor on December 18th, 2014, 5:03 pm

1st day of Winter 514 AV(morning)

The small building that was usually frequented by eager young Akalaks when Alcor had first laid eyes on it seemed desolate now. With all the strange happenings that started the previous Season this wasn't even remotely peculiar. The Ethaefal could remember dreading the rise of Syna each mourning and how empty and numb he felt each time it did. Then Fall came and he was suddenly filled with unnatural Cheerfulness and it seemed he wasn't the only one that had a drastic change in personality. The women that waved to him each morning scowled at him and the Akalak that was training diligently until late at night couldn't seem to get out of bed. Something was definitely very wrong with the city but that didn't change the Ethaefals drive to become a citizen and obtain meaningful employment.

He Fluttered towards the door and made his way inside. He approached the desk but there didn't seem to be anyone present, just stay pieces of parchment scattered along the desk. Upon closer inspection Alcor found that the Parchment was blank forms, he found one titled citizenship and another titled job application and filled with out with the ink pen available.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Sorak on February 21st, 2015, 12:53 pm

"Shouldn't they have opened by now? I told you we would be early, shyke, I hate waiting..."

"Relax, we've barely waited 10 chimes for crying out loud....We waited our entire life for this day, what are a few more moments at this point?!"

Sorak had no comeback to that statement, so instead he moped without another word said, which suited Magnos just fine. He was just as eager and impatient as Sorak, something that seemed to fly right over his counterpart's head. They had both trained, studied and waited for the day they'd finally be ready to be a member of the Antiquities Society's staff. The only reasons they had been doing odd jobs for the family and not join the Society's ranks earlier were that the family needed the extra hands ever since Sorak and Magnos' father had that accident. But they never gave up their dream, simply postponing it, which wasn't the worst thing in the world really. They were given more time to prepare that way, now with a better foundation and know-how, they wouldn't be bagage as much. They'd be assets to the Society and able to assist them at least, which was exactly the job they were going to apply for; Assistant.

After a few more chimes, during which Sorak restlessly walked in circles on the pathway through the building's neatly kept garden, the doors of The Office opened and they were allowed entrance. Walking up to the desk centered in the room, they ignored the bulleting board and pretty much everything else in their eagerness to, at long last, apply for their dreamjob.

Seated behind the desk was an Akalak looking up at them with a crisper look than Sorak had figured he'd have at these early hours. Neither of them wasted any time and while the Labor and Citizen Officer asked what they were here for, Sorak had already yapped out they wanted a job, Magnos let out a soft groan in shame for his dominant side's lack of composure, but the green Akalak didn't seem annoyed at all, simply smiling briefly as he gave Sorak a appropriate form and asked him to fill it in.

Race: Akalak
Age: 30
Relevant Skills: Archeology, Cryptography & Investigation
Preferred Employment: Assistant at the Antiquities Society
Expected Stay In Riverfall: Expected/Planned to be a permanent stay. Considering all his aspirations lie in Riverfall.

After doing so, Sorak handed it back to the Officer and waited for his response to come.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Zephari on March 2nd, 2015, 7:38 am

4th of Spring, 515 AV

It is early mourning as Zephari is walking up to the small simple building, her heart racing with both excitement and stress. She has only been in Riverfall for a couple of days and has mostly been wondering the town, trying to learn the ways of the town. Now she has decided that she has pointlessly wondered around for long enough and should look for a job.

As she walked inside her heart rate spiked further upon the sight of the akalak man sitting at the front desk. Zephari had still not gotten used to the giant blue guys walking around. She took three deep breaths, then walked up to the counter and asked, "Hello I hope I'm not here too early..". As she says this she mentally kicks herself for looking weak. "I am here for a job, and a housing application." The Akalak man hands Zephari the too forms.

Her heart rate now calmed down, she finishes the forms and hands them back to the man. God I hope they will let me work in their famous gem mines, she thought to herself as she goes over to a wall to lean on. She nervously rubs the sandstone pendant on her neck as she waits.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Ayatah on March 13th, 2015, 4:34 pm

For some reason, Ayatah was nervous.

And she wasn't entirely sure why: she had the credentials for getting a job, and yet the half-Eypharian feared that the people of Riverfall would simply reject her. She had been genuinely surprised when she and Kuame entered the city and neither was instantly thrown out like drunkards being barred from a tavern. Perhaps there was a chance of happiness for both of them.

The Gods only knew they needed it.

She began to fill the forms out hurriedly, not noticing until she had almost completed the first that she had written down her full name: Ayatah of the Scattered Bones. The woman almost laughed as she calmly tried to scribble the letters out. How many years had she spent trying to prove herself as a true Myrian? Now she was denying it for the safety of her child. Her maternal people were not trusted in any city bar Taloba, but now there was something more important in Ayatah's life than her heritage: Kuame.

Aya returned the forms with a guilty look in her eyes. She had only gone and done the one thing that she vowed not to do: draw attention to herself, her blood. With a desperate smile, Ayatah tried to look as... non-Myrian as possible as she awaited for a response.

Name: Ayatah of the Scattered Bones
Race: Mixed
Age: 28
Relevant Skills: Teaching, 33. Anthropology, 28, Writing, 16.
Preferred Employment: Teacher, ideally. Anything academic would be great
Expected Stay In Riverfall: For the foreseeable future

Name: Ayatah
Race: Mixed Blood
Age:28
Type Of Building Looking For: Anything suitable to bring up a five year old.
Size: See above
Condition: Average? Nothing desolate!
Expected Stay In Riverfall: The foreseeable future.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Athaera on March 26th, 2015, 5:39 pm

3rd of Spring, 415 AV

Athaera stood on the path, on which the Labor Aid Office stood. Although the Vantha's eyes were mostly a calm grey, a twinge of yellow glowed in them. Why she'd waited this long to get a job, was beyond even Athaera's perception. Although, now she was running low on Mizas, and had to find a source of income. She hesitated once more, before finally walking towards the building.

As she strode into the office, as confidently as she could, which wasn't very, she made an effort to look a little less disheveled. Athaera smoothed down her hair, and tucked her bangs being her ears, pulling her hood down. It was a warm day but the blue cloak came as a sort of comfort to the girl, and she'd opted not to take it off.

She pushed the door open, which was surprisingly heavy, and walked inside. An Akalak with light green skin sat at one of the desks, giving her a gentle smile, which Athaera returned, along with a slight nod. She sat down, and he asked her for her purpose of visiting the office. "I'd like a job," the vantha replied, and the akalak slid a form towards her.
Name: Athaera
Race: Human, Vantha
Age: 15
Relevant Skills: Hunting (Competent), Fishing (Novice)
Preferred Employment: Huntress, or possibly fisherman?
Expected Stay In Riverfall: Undetermined

She passed the form back, hoping it was sufficient. As he read over it, she awkwardly muttered, "I didn't do anything wrong, did I?" Shyke, Athaera, could you be any awkwarder? she silently scolded herself, her eyes now a bright yellow.
