As a result his cloak contains various hand-sewn pockets and deep folds in order to better store medicinal devices that could prove to be useful. Often found wearing a thick pelt as a scarf, the young man is a rather vibrant figure despite his lack of colorful garb; although his casual appearance speaks worlds otherwise. In the outdoors he prefers to wear a mask given to him by his mother—a trait that earned him the nickname 'faceless' among his peers—while indoors his pristine smile and colorful eyes shine without obfuscation. He has long, flowing black hair that glimmers in soft shades of violet and indigo. Among the other Vantha he stands above most, around five feet and eight inches, and has a sturdy frame hard-won from expeditions into the forests and tundra surrounding Avanthal. Character Concept: Soma strives to be a jack-of-all-trades. His passions swing curiously, which is an oddity in Vanthan culture where everyone has their practices and is expected to stick to them. Despite feeling a firm admiration and warmth towards the art of healing, he can't help but avert his gaze from the nimble and quick hunters of Frostfawn, or the seemingly miraculous works of Skyglow. As a result a lot of his time is spent secretly expanding his talents and range of ability, endeavoring ultimately to overcome the societal norms of his culture and seek acceptance from those around him as a dynamic individual. His mentality is that of a scholar as he absorbs information like a sponge and genuinely enjoys the flamboyant nature of expressing himself. He is competitive by nature and that acts as his personal drive. Character Biography: Oculum Whitevine was a hard-working man and a reputable lancer among the Icewatch. Notorious for being flexible in pressing situations and loyal to his goddess, he swiftly attracted the attentions of a young girl named Rin Snowsong, a young and feisty girl with a laugh like a bell and a fierce devotion towards the city of Avanthal as a whole. Together the pair were inseparable, and courted for a mere two seasons before wedding. Shortly thereafter Soma was born. On the first day of his life, Soma was born with Morwen's mark emblazoned upon his wrist, the snowflake wrapping around it like a delicate, unfinished bracelet. He showed signs from an early age of possessing a voracious appetite for knowledge, hungering for challenges and growth as an individual. He admired his father's work as a member of the Icewatch and began to model his progress after his, choosing to utilize a spear rather than a lance and adopting a cheeky attitude that mirrored his mother's. Soon enough he began to study medicine, spending time in the Icewatch Barracks as a practitioner. During his studies he demonstrated a sharp aptitude for having self-control in situations that required it. Due to his ability to remain precise and decisive under trying circumstances, he dedicated most of his attentions towards patients requiring immediate attention. This led him to gaining the favor of more than one of the members of the Icewatch, and allowed him access to training and various pieces of information as return payment. Over time this escalated into a full-blown effort revolving around becoming a member of the guardians of Avanthal, and establishing a presence as part of the military defense. Bearing the drive for success and spurred on by a deep love for his homeland and goddess, Soma began to pitch himself head-first into his efforts, training almost daily with his father and attempting to understand what it is to be part of the elite.
