Aran Windblown Appearance Race: Drykas Gender: Male Age: 26 Birthday: 38 Summer, 488 Birthplace: Endykas Appearance: Aran is tall, standing at 6’4”. His hair is brown with lighter highlights, and it’s most often seen pulled back with a strip of leather so that it doesn’t get in his face, though he never lets it grow beyond his shoulder blades. He’s broad and well-muscled, with skin bronzed from his hours spent working with the other Drykas and their Striders out in the open. His Windmarks are elaborate swirls and peaks, stretching from just below his left ear to spill over his left shoulder and down his arm and chest, wrapping around his ribs and spilling over his back. Character Concept Aran is a quietly confident man, suitable for working with the horses. He exudes a comforting, yet in-control air, perfect for showing horses that he can be trusted to be a true leader and to take care of them. Unfortunately, Aran isn’t as good with people, often going to extremes in either direction—either completely avoiding people, or being unnecessarily harsh. However, if one is willing to spend time getting to know him, Aran becomes more balanced personality-wise around you; while he is still gruff, he gives subtle cues in body language that shows that he does care about you. He’s not one for talking, preferring instead to trust actions over words. Character History Aran was born to the Amethyst Clan, and he has always shown an affinity for the horses. A Strider bonded to him when he was twelve; the Strider, a yearling named Anyalvis, was a claybank colt who was already showing signs of growing to be a tall and broad stallion, broke from his herd and followed Aran around for days, seemingly testing the young Drykas as he shied away almost each time Aran reached for him, until finally Anyalvis allowed Aran to handle him. After receiving his Windmarks, Aran trained Anyalvis himself, as the Strider was too young to be ridden when he chose Aran, and since then Aran has continued helping other Drykas train and bond with their Striders, and has helped with the breeding and preliminary training of new Striders. Aran still lives in his family's Pavilion, as he has yet to marry. When he isn't hunting, Aran can be seen taking Strider-less children for rides on Anyalvis or helping other Drykas with their Striders.
