AppearanceRace: Human, Benshira
Gender: Female
Age: Twenty-six years of age
Birthday: Seventy-seventh of Summer, 488 AV
Birthplace: Yahebah
Physical Details: Aminah is a pretty little thing, standing five feet tall and weighing about one hundred and ten pounds. Her Benshiran coloring compliments the startlingly blue eyes her people are known for, which are framed by wavy lengths of dark brown hair.
Her body is slightly squishy, not overweight but enough to make her features soft and causing her to appear younger than she actually is. However, Aminah's hands are anything but soft and squishy. They're calloused and strong from working in the fields and quick from defending her herd (although she doesn't always hit her mark).
Character ConceptAminah was born and raised in Yahebah, steeped in the Benshiran culture. She finds joy in dancing and singing, and her melodic voice can be heard while tending to her herd and while she's in the fields of Yahebah. More often than not it will be a song centered around Yahal, a prayer of thanks for her life. She makes up her own songs on occasion, work songs with an accompaniment by the wildlife around her.
She rarely got into a dispute with her husband, seeing as how they were a near-perfect match. Whenever Aminah feels anger coming on, she retreats to the married couple's Tent to practice her cloth-making, which she finds soothing.
Character HistoryAminah was barely sixteen years old when she married her husband Naji, waiting four days for him to return from the deserts. When he did come back Aminah wished to run to him, but the wedding was to commence immediately.
Aminah bore five children to her husband, three boys and twin girls. She would take the girls aside and teach them the basics of farming, allowing them to take water to the plants. Naji taught their sons how to wield a sling. Every few days they would switch places, with Aminah teaching her sons to farm and Naji mentoring the daughters. Aminah, who had a better grasp of Common than her husband, would also teach the children what she knew of the second language.
Then came the day she was enslaved. It was her first time travelling to Ahnatep to trade with her husband, her children finally old enough to be left with a family member. He needed to trade for cloth, since their offspring were unruly and managed to tear their clothes faster than Aminah could repair them.
They were nearing Ahnatep with their caravan and had set up a tent for the rest of the day when Amina heard a cry. It sounded like a child. She kissed her husband's head and went to investigate, sling in hand. There was a tiny form a little ways down the road, by a low-lying bush. Her motherly instinct took over, feet carrying the woman to the shape. She knelt, scooping up the wriggling bundle and trying to soothe it.
It was then she realized it was merely a large Pycon, which then darted out of the swaddling and rolled, taking Aminah's sling with it. Two people, wearing sand-colored robes that blended into the ground, appeared in front of her. Strong hands wrapped around her and lifted her from the dirt. She screamed her husband's name, loud enough for him to not even question what was going on, instead bursting from their tent and charging headlong across the sand.
He barreled into the bigger of the two not holding his wife, knocking the man over and turning to the burly slaver whose hands were around Aminah. The Pycon had thrown Aminah's sling out of the couple's reach, but now snatched it back up and, using a Py-Pole, sailed through the air to land on Naji's face. By the time her husband had managed to get it off, the man who had been knocked over and the one who hadn't were advancing on him, the larger one delivering a blow to the back of his head that made Naji fall to the ground, unconscious.
"Kill him. He saw what happened, and he won't be useful as a slave. I doubt we could break him.""NO!
"Aminah struggled against her captor, breaking from his grasp and diving to protect her husband. She begged the men to keep him alive, she'd go willingly, please, just
please don't kill him. In the end, to shut her up, they'd agreed, leaving him by his tent for someone to find if he didn't wake up before that.
The woman was taken into Ahnatep, placed on the market and a ransom price was posted. Aminah felt her heart sink to her toes, the cost of her freedom far more than they could hope to pay. She spent the rest of the night crying as quietly as she could, in order to not disturb the other slaves.
In the morning she was sold to a travelling merchant along with two others. His next stop was Kenash, where the man hoped to sell her and the man for a high price while keeping the other female. The last thing she saw before Ahnatep left her sight was her husband's caravan, finally entering the dreaded city.
