Timestamp: 6th of Fall, 514 AV Up and about since early morning, Prakash had regained his usual dominant position over the Akalak's dual nature, and the two were busy contemplating what to do with the particular gem they had received upon completion of the Society's puzzle-marathon during Summer. Both of them had forgotten about the chirpy greetergirl's advice yesterday, from the House of Stones, and neither could come up with something worthwhile. Best that came out of the pair was visiting a jewelcrafter or gemcutter for more information, which were hardly remarkable ideas. 'Damn it, we need to figure out what to do with this thing!' 'Relax, we'll figure it out, the only thing bothering me is that we're carrying it around so much lately. If we lose it, I doubt the finder is going to bother searching for its rightful owner!' 'Hm, you're right. I wish we could have a twin gem crafted, but I doubt it...Woah, what if we lost the message from Father? That's much more valuable than this stone!!' 'You've got a point, what do you say we try and let a copy get made of the parchment? Not like anyone is going to make sense of it anyhow, so nothing personal is revealed!' The pair decided upon visiting the Valkalah Library to try and get a copy of the cryptic text scribbled on the parchment. After hanging the leather tube over their neck, with the parchment hidden inside, they set out towards the Library. Of course underway their Miza dropped and they decided it wouldn't hurt to follow Claire's, the greetergirl, advice and check out what information could be traced in the Library about the strange gem. With Drath's constant reminder to be careful and not frollick about while carrying these precious items, Prakash walked fast and focused towards the Library. Quite unnatural for him as he's usually the carefree and aloof type, compared to Drath anyway, but since the sudden changes in everyone's attitude...He was probably the least odd Akalak in all of Riverfall. After a short while they arrived at the clean and imposing building housing the Valkalah Library. Prakash and Drath remembered the story telling sessions he had attained from time to time as a child, especially those that involved mystery stories. His father used to accompany him, but those days are long gone. Prakash had to do his best not to let his mind wander down memory lane and Drath simply shut his mouth for a while until both of them were calm once again, before pushing open the large door of the Library. |
