Hello. My name is DANI and I'm a Polishaholic.
Oh my days.
As if I have only just discovered this thread. I am so incredibly excited to see others on Miz loving nail polish and beauty etc. as much as I do. This is thrilling!
So my obsession with Polish comes out of being slightly obsessive, a perfectionist and having way too much time. I like intricate patterns. I like having to hold my hand so close to my eyes that I almost get high off the polish fumes, and my eyes go fuzzy from concentrating/sniffing so hard (solent abuse? hello!). Most of all, I love how my nails look having recently been painted, and seeing what they look like in different lights, different rooms and weather types.
Nail tattoos/wraps/etc really don't work for me. I have nails the same size as my 8 year old (I'm 22), and so I have to trim wraps down so small that I either ruin the pattern, or lose the correct shape. Same goes for nail extensions/false nails. It's a hard life, but I manage.
As for other beauty things, I have quite the passion for perfume too (I love sweet-smelling perfumes especially). I also enjoy make up and body/bath stuff, but my skin is pretty sensitive and quite pink tinted, so I gotta be careful with what I use otherwise I look like a lobster.
Finally, my passion for all things beauty has lead to me travelling across/under seas to visit Sephora. I live in the UK and there are NO Sephora stores here. I'd heard/read about the store before and so I MAY have visited Paris just to go to Sephora. Maybe. Is that sad?
Favorite Individual Polishes In Your Collection: Oh god. I go through fits and fads. At the moment I'm loving' Push and Shove by OPI (it's so shiny!) but my go-to colour has been Aquadelic by ChinaGlaze for quite sometime (the colour is similar to For Audrey, which I was what I was looking for when I got Aquadelic, but couldn't find it)
Collection Size: 200-300. My nail polishes live at 2 addresses because I move around a lot and I can never bring ALL of them with me.
Favorite Brands: Hm. OPI makes me feel like a classy lady, but sometimes you just can't beat hughstreet brands, especially for nail art where you might use a blob of one colour and don't want to fork out too much moolah. Essie is awesome, too, because of their wide brushes (though they're too big for my nails other than Tom Thumb)
Favorite Finishes: Matte always looks like funky, I think. But to be honest I like all. With textures nails I tend to spend too much time feeling them so they crack and rub away quicker.
Lemmings: Essie Shine of the Times. I have searched all over the UK for this brand to no avail. I ordered a bottle from Amazon and another colour arrived and I literally can't anymore. I just can't.
Finishes I hate: Gel. I've only had gel nails once and they didn't last long enough o warrant the money spent.
Polish/Beauty Blogs I Stalk: The Nailasauras is really amazing.
Favorite Other Beauty Products: MAC, LUSH, The Body Shop.
