Will Carter Appearance Name: Will Carter Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 28 Birthday: 54th of Winter, AV 485 Birthplace: Kenash Appearance: Will stood around five foot eleven, give or take an inch . His build looked hauntingly unpleasant, it was a wiry frame that had been subjected to infrequent feeding, intense labour and more depraved vices. Of course this meant he blended seamlessly into the background of Sunberth, especially in the poorer parts of the city, as he went about his business. . All this meant that most clothes hung loosely off his meagre frame. Underneath a thin brown brow a pair of pale grey eyes that never settled, never lingered but always jump in an attempt to see and process everything. His hair was thin and dark, it was rarely clean or trimmed so after a long time it would grow thick and straight from his head to form a ruffled nest atop his crown. Rough stubble would often be found covering his thin jaw though it was often shaved before it developed into anything considered a full beard when he could be bothered. Finally his skin was of a fair complexion, often found with smears of dirt and blood across its surface. Character Concept Will is paranoid, aggressive and hated authority figures unless they were throwing Mizas at him. He was raised with the belief that there is no such thing as a free gift, that strangers weren't to be trusted, and outsiders were nothing but trouble and even if money was involved that it was best to avoid them. Basically he was a born and bred Sunberthian. While he could appear sombre at times it was more likely to do with the company he was in rather than the man himself. Amongst the right people, with drink flowing and weed burning, he was as quick as any man with a joke or an offer to pitch in for the next round. It was around strangers his tongue became sharper, his words more scathing and sarcastic, it was his natural response. He had become very ambitious, well at least for a street rat. He no planned on living hand to mouth anymore, seeking to accrue wealth and power above his origins. Morals and ethics tend to waver within this man. The life of a Sunberthian was a perilous one and many who had managed to live to a respectable age cannot claim to have had only easy decisions in their time and Will has no choice but to follow this trend. Over time most would not that Will was rather cold, but this was not uncommon for his city and occupation, a thief with a heart is not an effective one so he was considered more normal than he would if he lived elsewhere. First and foremost, he wanted to see the change of the next season. Then he wanted enough gold to enjoy himself. Character History Will Carter, brought into the world on the 54th of Winter, AV 485 as the youngest of three to his parents - Rowan and Celina Carter. The birth suffered complications and in a city with few doctors and even fewer healers it wasn't truly a surprise that Dira claimed his mother's life while Kihala blessed him with his own. But while predictable it was truth that wasn't easily accepted by his father and brothers, perhaps this was the start of his seclusion from his family because the rock of their own lives was replaced with a small, skinny, wailing infant. His dad was good man all in all, never one to refuse help to his neighbours and happy to buy his friends a round but he simply never had much time for Will. It was common for the tradesman of the family to pass his trade onto his eldest for him to inherit the business, otherwise within a couple of generations it would be split to many times between his children. This role fell to Will's oldest brother - Logan - who learnt the skills of the locksmith. The second acted as a spare, life in Sunberth was harsh even compared to most cities, so John did his best to find Tom, the middle child, a decent trade that would give him a good start in life. With no wife to help him, between simply raising his three children, running his business and teaching his eldest his trade there was very little time left to be devoted to Will through no fault of his own. In truth Will was the cleverest out of the three, a fact even his father recognised, but with no trade to pursue and little food left over for him he soon found himself running with a small time gang. They were small time criminals, they worked as pickpockets and con-artists, mainly targeting outsiders as their purses were heavier and stood out like a sore thumb. But while Will was solving his own problems with crime and its rewards, trouble was stirring at home. Rowan Carter had reached a respectable age and Dira had decided that his time had come, over the next couple of years his health had been crippled, forcing Logan to take over the business which simply caused more havoc since Sunberth is volatile by nature and Logan was truthfully the stupidest of the brothers, meaning that any money they could claim to have owned was dwindling fast. Will was fiercely independent by this time, making the decision to cut him off entirely a rather easy one on the conscious of Logan when their father finally passed away. Despite all their differences Will still felt betrayed about the decision, they were still brothers and blood meant something to him, if only a little. This action, while useful, quickly became moot when more trouble arose from a new source - Tom. The bastard had always managed to keep under the radar, in some way more so then Will. He had more wits about him then Logan but most would agree that he was a sleazy, slimy piece of shit but his father was sharper than he had realized and managed to keep most of trouble he caused at bay while he was still kicking around but without his influence the debt begun to pile up quickly, more than he could pay. The Daggerhands were amongst them, while recent events in AV 514 had weakened them, this debt was owed at the height of their power and they would be unlikely to forget the debt of even the lowest scum. The debt was paid with something he had no claim to; the workshop and profits of his deceased father's locksmithing business. Logan was thick and thus was also incredibly stubborn, so when they came to collect what he did not own he refused. They rammed a dagger in his throat.
