Timestamp: 30th of Fall, 514 AV Having been part of a small, Claws-exclusive, scouting party after the disastrous events during the season's entry of this year, Dire realized fast that she had been neglecting many key points that are vital to survival in this harsh world, not to mention they were vital to any Myrian worth to be named after their Goddess Myri! While she hid it well, Dire felt as useful to the team as a Deyhan, a feeling she detested and did her best to overcome and plainly improve herself any and every way she could. But the truth was painfully clear, some were gifted and talented in one or many ways...She was not. She had made a secret pledge with herself, and a single-sided pact to the name of Myri that no matter what happened, she would never stop giving her all for the Clan, for Myri, for Taloba and for herself. So, even while feeling useless, she tried to be pro-active during the scouting and do things that she was able to, with efficiency and speed. She even pushed herself so hard that while the others rested and set up camp after travelling and exploring. She put it on herself to scan the surrounding area for animals tracks and prints, so they wouldn't get ambushed, even while the area was devoid of trees and jungle due to the fire storming over it not too long ago. Uncaring of the fairly meaningless task, since they could see a fair distance in all directions, she focused solely on the ashen soil and drowned all other thoughts and distractions. With sharp, concentrated eyes she glared around her, but no footprints were found whatsoever, only charred earth and wood all around. She proceeded to in her circular path around the camp, at a fair distance, so her kin could sleep sound and on both ears. Her eyes taking in the black'ish soil and only having one thing in her mind, beastial prints, she didn't even hear one of her Clan's members shout out to her, as the sound grew louder and closer, it finally surfaced and became audible to Dire. Who straightened her spine and turned to face the shouting man, which was slightly painful to do on both terms. As she had been slightly bent forward for quite some time and stretching her back didn't go painless. The other painful part was when she had to return and tell the others she didn't find anything, as if it would have been good if she had. To Dire, it felt like she had just wasted time now, but she was the only one to think so. "Dire..Stop it!" "Stop what, Skhorn?!" "You're pushing yourself too hard again, I haven't seeen you take a single break! It is great that you're so motivated and helpful, but if you're not ready for another day, tomorrow morning, we'll be behind on schedule!" She couldn't believe her ears.. |
