[Riverside Isle Park] Mental Challenges (Marone)

Postby Tink Scalpellion on November 7th, 2014, 4:13 am

Fall 37
Walking around the park, Tink was constantly dodging the feet of people passing by. Many gave him second looks, and seemed as if they had never seen a pycon before. This angered Tink, and he was waiting for someone to have the nerve and ask what he was. Really, people moved out of Tink's way just to avoid contact with him.

We arent monsters. Its not like we're gang members who just want tocause trouble. Seriously. I'm like four inches tall... Ooh! What a threat to all these Sunberthians. How long's it gonna be before someone starts talking to me? I wish that people weren't so weird about what I am. I guess its because they've never met me before.

OOCPlease excuse the shortness, but since this is just a beginning post I couldn't add much more.

[Riverside Isle Park] Mental Challenges (Marone)

Postby Marone on November 7th, 2014, 8:28 pm

If a man's life was summarized by everything he does then Marone's life would be quite a depressing one since he mostly worked with either unbearable hot fires and bones of the dead. Especially the dead which met violent ends in Sunberth. In other words Marone's life can easily summarized as him being in hell for most of the time in his life.

It was the reason why Marone would now spend the afternoon at the park. Even if the Riverside Isle Park is used by the Daggerhands he disliked so much to demonstrate their power Marone figured if he wasn't caught as a member of the Sun's Birth he shouldn't be harassed too badly. He has also visited the park a few times before and never met any trouble before.

The park is quite the calming place to be in all things considered.

And the most calming part of the park as Marone has found was the wading pool. It was there where Marone sat with his feet dipped in the water while he watched the population which came to enjoy the park. As a force of habit Marone was looking at them for signs of weapons. He was a weaponsmith after all.

The habit was both to assure himself of his own safety and to catch up with the trend of weapons used in Sunberth which he might dedicate himself to making. His eyes moving from person to person he saw the common weapons. Swords, daggers, axes. Some even had bows on them. These of course were the ones obvious to him. It wasn't a bad thing to do. Showing a weapon might dissuade someone from trying anything funny.

In his observations Marone's eyes caught something curious. At first it was because he was looking a sword with a very interesting design and when he looked down to its tip he found something small scurrying by it. It looked like a tiny little statue but the strange part was it was moving. Marone didn't know what to make of it but he immediately stood up so he could get a better look at it.

Maybe one day if he wants to go beyond carving crude weapons he could move on to something like that. He only needed to know the secret of how to make a statue move.

The secret in making the statue move wouldn't be the only reason for Marone to be curious about this statue. It was also for knowledge. In essence knowledge is power and in expanding his knowledge Marone would be able to be more powerful. Especially in how he could use his malediction. In the ways he can bring out the latent power in the remains that he can acquire.

He would never know when one of these statues could get into his hands for him to test his malediction on. Especially in Sunberth. It was only a matter of time.

Marone eventually was following behind the statue as it was trying to get through the other people at the park. Because Marone had no reason to actually confront the creature he decided to do it subtly. Walking just like the other onlookers which took a look at the creature and ignored it as they went on their way as if it was only a passing curiosity Marone followed behind it. Keeping his feet gently so he wouldn't make a sound when his feet touched on the ground.

Probably the only reason why Marone would stand out from the reset of the people around the walking statue besides his attempts in keeping quiet while he shadowed it was because he was paying a whole lot of attention on the statue compared to everyone else.

[Riverside Isle Park] Mental Challenges (Marone)

Sometimes, Tink just had to laugh. For a couple hundred yards, a man had been following and watching Tink's every move. Humorous. Tink was just waiting for the man to get enough nerve to actually try an attempt for some conversation. Probably won't be long. COntinuing on his path, Tink couldn't help and notice the numerous stares from people walking in the opposite direction.

Sometimes, Sunberthians just make me laugh. At four inches, I don't think I'm that much of a threat to their livelihood. Hah. I can't really kill them now. Can I? I wonder how long till that man asks me some questions.

Time passed, until the man finally stepped up in front of Tink and said, "Excuse me. Umm. Statue man. Are you real? Can you hear me or communicate with me in any way, shape, or form?"

Ffinally. The man asked me a question. Yay. I wonder how long it will take him to grasp the concept that I'm alive.

"Hey sir. Yes. I can talk. Name's Scalpellion. Tink Scalpellion, and I'm a Pycon. Probably don't know what that is, but if you have time, I'll explain."

[Riverside Isle Park] Mental Challenges (Marone)

Postby Marone on November 9th, 2014, 6:38 pm

Fun. Marone wasn't the only person that was following the creature. With the distance he kept himself from the creature being further from the other man he was able to see him doing the exact same thing he did. Maybe even better since he dared to be that much closer to the creature. Marone himself preferred to be further most of the time because him remaining unseen is to avoid any dangers but there was no dangers here except any capabilities of the creature not yet seen.

It doesn't mean Marone should take any chances when it came to the creature though. Especially when there was someone else that would take it for him.

Patiently following from behind Marone expanded his observations to include the other man which came into the picture. Unlike the man who was keeping the same distance and position from the creature Marone had two people to avoid detection from. With no choice he had to keep switching places as he was shadowing the pair sometimes providing a clear line of sight to both and other a clear line of sight to only one and vice versa.

Then all of a sudden the man picked up his pace and started to move ahead of the creature. Marone unable to predict what would happen next took it as a chance to occupy the man's previous spot. He walked right to it and started walking being the creature and completely forgot about the other man. Since the man was able to follow the creature for so long without being detected Marone wouldn't have to worry about being detected while doing the same.

Marone couldn't have expected what would happen next.

The man came back and got in front of the creature and started to talk to it. Not being prepared for it at all Marone's first instinct was to double back just in case the creature ends up lashing out or exploding forgetting all intents of remaining unseen. He did not hear what the man actually said to the creature as a result but when nothing happened Marone went back.

And the questions started running through his mind. Why would a statue even have a name. How could it talk so well. What the hell is a Pycon. These came with a very important question at the end. It was going to explain? This Tink thing seemed too intelligent to just be an ordinary statue. Marone was surprised it wasn't stolen and put into a box for some entertainment purposes.

Deciding that nothing bad was going to happen or it would've already Marone walked straight up to the pair. He looked down at the Pycon creature feeling odd. He was going to talk to a thing and very likely it was going to start talking back unless he imagined it offering to explain to the other man about what he is.

Unable to remember the actual name he immediately asked "then explain please Mr.Kapellion. But before that maybe the three of us should find a less crowded place to sit?"

Actually Marone wasn't sure if this Pycon had to sit at all but this would be a good opportunity to find out as well.

[Riverside Isle Park] Mental Challenges (Marone)

Why did Tink have to draw crowds who surrounded and stared at him? It was both embarrassing and creepy. People stared at Tink, watching every single move that he made. If he even looked at them, they became terrified. Now,two peope werefollowig him to a bench to talk. They wanted a more "Private" setting. Hah. Privacy. So overrated. Atleast, that's what Tink told himself. Ever since he was a child,he was watched by nearly anyone who was a citizen or visitr to Sunberth. Although,Tink couldn't see why anybody would desire to come to Sunberth. Itwasn't exactly the most pleasurable city in the Syliras region.

With the two men in tow, Tink motioed for them to sit at a bench. He would stand and give them a short history of the Pyconic Race. Couldn't hurt for them to learn a little history today. Everybody deserved a chance to learn something new.

"Hmm. Where to begin. Ahh,yes the beginning. We Pycons are a proud race of people! We were created by the god Haramaus. As the god of Alchemy,we were literally created by the god! Any questions?"

Privacy was the least of Marone's concerns when he suggested a less crowded place. Marone just didn't want any interruptions when the creature started explaining things or any misinterpretations because of the surrounding noise. That wasn't the only reason of course. A walking clay figure screamed too much of magic and Marone being a world mage himself experienced the results of Sunberth when they find proof of magic being practiced.

It involved the infamous mob and a crowd in Sunberth is just the start of the makings of the mob. It was possible that Tink didn't know about the mob but Marone did which was enough. He had no intentions of sticking around to watch if the mob suddenly decided the clay figure was a result of magic. He would be as far away as possible.

Still while Marone was with the Pyccon and the other man he was going to take his chance to learn more about it and maybe some way of using it when if the remains of such ended up in his hands. He wasn't too sure if clay would work with malediction but it could be an interesting piece if it did.

Sitting on the bench Marone just nodded along with what Tink said not because he understood the Pycon but because he was in agreement of what it said about itself. Proud was the impression he was getting from it as it chose to remain standing in front of them to explaining things only it knew. From a position to exercise power over them or so Marone felt.

Because for Marone the most important thing to survive in Sunberth is power and that is what he looked for in anything.

And because he always looked for power Marone always tried to look for ways to use them. He didn't know much about the divine save a few exceptions but he was always open to learn and this time the opportunity came from pride. Tink? He was proud of his god and the fact that his god made his kind which was a fact Marone was going to use.

"Never heard of this Haramaus fella. I mean gods are supposed to do fantastic things. Like Ivak. Nearly ended the world he did. And Laviku. He made many many things that us mortals can't even get close to" or so he pieced together from stories by kontis and men of the sea.

Marone waited for a bit in case the Pycon had anything else it might want to add about its great god before asking "did Haramaus make anything else? Or do anything else we might know about? Because before today I didn't even hear about Pycons" which couldn't be that important overall.
Just got a new job. Will be trying to keep the stuff which I'm doing going at the very least so no one has to wait.
