Sira was in her human form when she responded. The horse kelvic intrigued her, as did all kelvics. She had only met a few of her race during her life, and Sira did not like just letting them run away. As much as she thought herself one of the Inarta, she knew that she was not. She was a kelvic, just like the horse in front of her. She wanted to learn from him, in truth, as she did from every kelvic she met. It was more out of sheer curiosity, though there were times in her life when she wished there had been a kelvic to talk to. In the past year, having a kelvic to talk to would have been nice. At that moment, though, Sira was more curious about who he was and why he was afraid of her.
"I'm not trying to shoot you now, I just want to talk. I am a kelvic too, as you can see."
Sira found it odd that someone who claimed to be from the mountain spoke the common tongue better than Nari. The common tongue. Sira had no idea what was so common about it, Nari was far more common in her experience. Then again, she had rarely traveled beyond the mountain, and so she didn't really know what languages they spoke elsewhere. She assumed it would be Nari, as that is what any sensible person would speak. But perhaps she was just being arrogant. Most outsiders were probably too daft to learn Nari anyway.
"What are you doing out here, anyway? It's dangerous this far from the mountain, and not just because of hungry wind eagles like me."
