Pycon skin dye and ornaments

Postby Hamartia on October 16th, 2014, 1:20 am

I was curious if it was possible for a pycon to dye his clay skin? And if so what product could a pycon buy to do so, and how long would the dye last or would it be permeant?

Also does a pycon feel pain?, can a pycon store items in its clay as long as the nexus isn't disturbed or destroyed?

Can a pycon adorn it's clay skin with piercings and other objects to enhance its appearance?

Just a few questions I couldn't help wondering the answer to.

Pycon skin dye and ornaments

yay another pycon! :P

in Pyconia they have a thing called Gemstone fashion, where they mix crushed gem powder into their food to make them sparkle.

In ceramics there is a thing called slip that is just watered down clay, if you have a different coloured slip you could apply it to yourself and maybe make little designs and tattoos. you might still be a bit limited in your colour palette but its something.

Pycons feel pain just not as much as other people, being squished is more an annoyance to them then something that would kill them. Although If my character gets their arm cut off I tend to make it more psychologically damaging, since their form is tied to their sense of being. So she goes into a panic and can't function very well until she gets her arm back.

Pycons can totally make little pockets for themselves, they kind of just eat the item and it doesn't get digested because it isn't clay. When you want it out you just regurgitate it or how every you want to rationalize it. You can also make your little air pocket bigger so you can stay under water a bit longer.

pretty sure they can have piercings, or you could just sculpt piercings into them. I imagine the piercings would be uncomfortable at first but would then become part of their natural form.

there is a pycon players guide in the works here

Pycon skin dye and ornaments

Ok one of the reason I ask, I cause I was thinking that my pycon might enjoy painting himself as an artistic reflection maybe some tribal type designs when he wants to fight. Paint himself black when he wants to sneak around at night, maybe paint evil features on his face when he is feeling malicious. I just wanted to know if it would be a issue for pycons or a permeant change to there clay color. Kinda same thing with the other subjects I asked could it be a temp change or maybe some things are permeant.

Oh yah just paint yourself, I don't see why that would be a problem. Just get creative and have fun with it.

Pycon skin dye and ornaments

There isn't any lore or rule stating that a Pycon could or couldn't paint, dye, pierce, or tattoo themselves. However, keep in the mind that with their constant inate moving of body and shifting of form all the time, such things like piercing and tattoos may be wasteful of funds.

Graders Please Note :
As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

I will be handling all Ball related posts on Mondays @ 1800 my time *
