The guardian couldn't help but chortle a bit when the Lord of Council decided to compliment him, a bit of sudden pride found in himself as he found a sense of boosted confidence from the sudden praise. Deep down though there was an estranged sense of insurgence found within him, the profound intent to oppose that which he stood by kept locked deep within as he could only surmise what Ignotus must've thought about. No doubt there was the fact Ricky started to prove himself a real hound, capable of getting his job done were he granted any higher role that was gifted upon him. Yet even so the fact he'd been graced with the ideals of protection for the city, that still didn't leave him loyally blind to the figure that walked next to him in their conversation. In truth there was a deep sense of paranoia Ricky tried to keep averted at all costs, the only factors plausible to determine his over awareness present by the sweat on his palms and fast beating of his heart.
No. He had to remain collected, his secret ambition wasn't ready to be made known yet. The subtle enemy next to him needn't be aroused yet, not when the member of his pack hadn't the power he needed to tackle the alpha. "Believe it or not Oi've been kickin' me own ass 'bout it fer a while now, it's been good t' finally put effort in bein' one step ahead o' everyone else." He mused as he could no doubt tell that Ignotus could relate, seeing as how he was a very preemptive man who used nothing but caution to dominate his influence. The father recalled it all to well, even if Ignotus brushed the assumption off like it was nothing. Telion and Martin? They were practically means of controlling the guardian, yet Ricky made sure to avoid any chances of Ignotus discovering his own intent, as it wouldn't do to let the Nuit learn that this dogs bite was soon getting worse than his own bark. And with the observation found in that Ricky had indeed been working hard, even with the fact he had a child at home he raised, that led the father to silently gulp a bit of air as he feared discovery were indeed imminent.
Still he managed to force a chuckle with humility found in his expression, the fact promotions were mentioned left him to consider that nothing was for certain just yet. With the magical flying ball of water rounded into a sped form once more, Ricky's own res circled about to catch the projectile that flung through the air as it orbited him in a counterclockwise motion. He had to admit that he'd practically been getting good with his reaction timing as well as control, which is a long way from where he started when Ignotus first performed the initiation on him. Just keep it simple now, don't worry 'bout specifics in answerin' his question. He reminded himself as he rotated two fingers about slowly, their stroll brought to a slug's pace as he looked at the Lord of Council plainly. His response had to be narrowed down yet well worded in order to cover up the practices he'd partook in, the efforts of shielding especially most important if he wanted to avoid discovery. That by far was his most precious trump card.
"Same as ever really, just twice as exhaustin' now Oi'm back an' raisin' me son." He made a soft grin show as he hoped to humor the Nuit a little. "Really nothin's changed since Oi left fer Syliras, an' now dat Oi'm back Oi find de quiet all too... disturbin'. S'why tomorrow Oi'm gonna make sure nothin' goes down." Should he indulge Ignotus in his thoughts? The fact its been on his mind really didn't change much, plus he wondered just how exactly his 'superior' would react to hear it. "Lately t'ough Oi've been t'inkin' Oi need a break, t'ough Oi can't say fer sure if Oi want t'. As much as Oi love bein' a guard, Oi t'ink Oi also need a bit o' time t' raise me son as well." There. He cast that line out there, and with it the velocity increased. The water swerved around his body once more with a swish before the projectile launched towards Ignotus once more, sharp blue eyes honed on the Nuit as Ricky tried to read into his reaction.
