The Littlest Show (Jokor & Keres)

Jokors mouth fell open in suprise as he saw, and felt, the little clay man seep through his fingers the parts of the clay hanging through his fingers slowly forming into something that looked a lot like the icicles hanging form the roofs in the winter.

Jokor continued to hold up the tiny creature, A bit freaked out by what was happening but at least this thing didn't try to eat him.
Jokor looked towards the crowd seeing that most of them where completely captivated by the Pycon's trick, a small smile formed on his face, Maybe he would get out of this situation with no problems afterall!

The Littlest Show (Jokor & Keres)

Postby Keres on October 17th, 2010, 9:04 pm

Keres was astounded that this singled-out-man simply stood there, seeming to not react. Admittedly, that was probably the best thing he could have done: just let Verduth take charge of the situation.

Keres decided that the crowd's silence was enough for him to break his cue, and began to clap slowly but loudly while still trying to obscure his hands from view. Several of the members of the small crowed joined him while the rest began to shuffle again, but this time in a way that felt more positive and less like they were about to kill a pickpocket. After a moment, Keres stopped clapping and continued as he and Verduth had agreed.

He felt for the two coins that had left in his pocket. well, what better way, he thought as he approached Verduth still standing melted, and dropped the two copper into the man's still open hands in front of Verduth before moving to the side so as not to be in the way.

Right on cue Keres started clapping and the rest of the audience followed his lead. Verduth began pulling himself back together as the crowd began to disperse, a few stepping forward to leave a copper or two. The boy had done excellently! Standing still as he had was just what the little clay man had needed him to do. What a team they could make, Verduth drawing the attention, Keres leading the crowd, and this young fellow could make be his assistant.

Once Verduth had some legs again, he turned to face the young man. “My you did splendidly ol' fellow! I say! If you aren't otherwise engaged perhaps we could be of assistance to one another!” He stuck out a hand to offer to shake and then remembered that he was already standing on Jokor's hands.

“Ah yes, that's right.” He leaned over and patted Jokor on one of the hands. Shaking hands had never made much sense to the Pycon, surely patting hands would mean something similar. He gestured back towards the barrel. “If you could just set me down again, I'm sure we could strike up a good discussion over our future together.”

Jokor let out a sigh of relief when he saw the crowd desperse, not liking the attention that was on him even a little bit. Jokor looked in interest as the Pycon was retracting the clay from between his fingers and reformed its legs. After that the little man turned around and looked straight in his eyes.

“My you did splendidly ol' fellow! I say! If you aren't otherwise engaged perhaps we could be of assistance to one another!” The little man stuck out his hand for a handshake probably forgetting he standing on his hands already, making it impossible for him to shake it. The little man realized his mistake and bend over and patted his hand, before making a gesture towards the barrel, “If you could just set me down again, I'm sure we could strike up a good discussion over our future together.”

Jokor arched his eyebrows when he heard the words our future,Did he wanted to have some random stranger he caught picking pockets help him in the future? There was something fishy going on here even if he didn't know what yet. Still if he could get some easy miza this way it would be welcome, He really needed that stuff right now.

So Jokor walked towards the barrel and put the pycon down. "So," Jokor said. "Whats in it for me?"

The Littlest Show (Jokor & Keres)

By the time Verduth was back on his barrel, Keres had selected a spot on a wall just within earshot to lean against. He listened as Verduth and the other man began to speak about a 'future.' Keres was a little uneasy, this man had showed himself to be a pickpocket, but then again, who was Keres to judge? Would he not have resorted to the same thing if circumstances were different? Well, probably not, he would likely have chosen to take his chances in the forest, but that wasn't an option for everyone and he knew it.

Keres watched from beneath the hood of his cloak rather curious how this was going to turn out. If Verduth ended up needing any sort of saving from this man, Keres was near enough to be there in an instant, but to what end? Grab him and run? Well, if that was the only option, then so be it, but best to wait and see, he though to himself.

Verduth moved for his bag as soon as he was on the barrel, making a lot of noise as he began to dig through it.

“Well, my good friend, if you'll just be so kind as to give my associate back his two coppers then I'd say you can keep the rest, for starters.” He didn't make any indication of who his so called associate was, thinking it must be obvious. Nor did he consider the fact that if any of the audience members were still around, that they might get offended if they realized they had been lead by someone into their applause and donations.

The little clay man had stuck his head all the way into the bag now, and seemed to be speaking to himself, “where is it, I know I have one in here.” He pulled his head out and made a noise of triumph, holding up a gold coin.

“Here you go, my good fellow. You can also have this as a sort of, starter bonus.” He smiled to himself. Yes, that seemed like a good idea. He had little use for the heavy things anyways, but it was a wonderful enticement for the larger creatures. Verduth held the coin out towards Jokor.

“Just a show of good faith, my friend. The more the merrier in my show! Of course, ordinarily we would split the gains equally, but the more people we have working together, the more people we can attract, I say!”

As soon as he put down the little man went towards his bag and began to rummage through it, making a lot of noise as he did.
“Well, my good friend, if you'll just be so kind as to give my associate back his two coppers then I'd say you can keep the rest, for starters.”
Jokor unceartinly looked around for it's associate, not even knowing that he even had one. Before just taking out two coppers and hiding the small amount of silver and copper coins on his body.No sense in holding those two copper miza for himself, he probably would get in trouble if he didn't give it back. Jokor opened his mouth to ask for who the associate was when he heard the pycon begining to mutter some things to himself not able to understand it because the man's head was completly in his bag now. Before he pulled his head out while giving a yell of triumph and held out a single golden miza.
“Here you go, my good fellow. You can also have this as a sort of, starter bonus.” The clay man held out the coin to Jokor who quickly took it, before the man changed his mind and once again hid it on its person.

“Just a show of good faith, my friend. The more the merrier in my show! Of course, ordinarily we would split the gains equally, but the more people we have working together, the more people we can attract, I say!”

A smile spread on Jokors face, Getting paid for doing stuff like this? and he could even sneak away for some time to get some 'pocket money' for himself This was an offer he couldn't refuse.

"Sure I'l do it."

The Littlest Show (Jokor & Keres)

Postby Keres on October 18th, 2010, 4:18 pm

What is this Verduth up to?, Keres wondered. It hasn't even been a week since he attached himself to me, and now he's got someone else in on whatever it is that he's working at. However, the fact was that Keres didn't feel either of the waring halves of him distrust Verduth. There was just something so simply unhidden about how he behaved.

Keres glanced up and down the street looking to see if anyone from the crowd that had been there was still within sight, but could recognize none of them among the few people now ambling here and there. With that, he pushed off the wall he had been leaning against and approached Verduth and the other man. He stepped up where he was shoulder to shoulder with the pickpocket, or as near as he could with the height difference.

“My name Keres. What your?” he asked in his forcefully pronounced common while reaching his hand out, palm up.

Verduth had his best grin plastered across his face as he saw Keres strolling up.

“Ah! Here he is! My associate, Keres! Keres, this is er... I didn't catch you name.” The little clay man turned back to his bag, rummaging through it once more and continued talking excitedly without pause, oblivious to any actions between the other two men. It almost seemed as if he was talking to himself.

“Now we're growing into a fine troupe, just fine! We're going to need to work up some kind of routine though! Organization is key, that's what my pap always used to say. Now I've got some great ideas, but it would be so much nicer if we could find a more permanent venue, and then, then we'd need to start practicing. But if we have to continue with the street performance, which I must say does get the blood pumping, then I somewhat like the tactic we used today. This audience sure got riled up, there was so much excitement in the air when they thought you were a pickpocket, and after you were trying to be so nice. That poor woman probably doesn't know what she missed.” He stuck his head in the bag and though it was obvious he was continuing to speak at the same excited pace, his words grew too mumbled to distinguish.

“Ah! Here he is! My associate, Keres! Keres, this is er... I didn't catch you name.” The little clay man said before turning back towards his bag and began talking about something about a troupe?
He turned towards the man who came walking towards and lay the two coppers in it. "My name is... ehm Jokor, I think." Jokor said. "You where Keres right?" Jokor stuck out his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you I guess." He pointed towards the clay man who was almost falling in his bag by now. "Who Is that guy?
