Appearance:
Winter has a stocky build, her body was made for the cold of Avanthal. While not overweight, Winter is definitely heavier then the skinny bodies of the warmer areas. She is taller then the average height for her race, but only by an inch, or two at max.
She used to be extremely proud of her unblemished face and body, with no scars, no acne, and perfect skin. However after the incident, her hands and lower back have very noticeable marks that serve as a constant reminder of what she has gone through.
Her eyes constantly change color, but are seen most often in a shade of light green or blue. Her long dark hair flows past her lower back, which she often uses to cover the previously mentioned scars. Her face is always contorted into a type of sly smile, showing off her playful personality.

This quote by Winter's brother, Neve, stuck with her, and defines her as a person, she keeps it in mind with everything she does. Winter has gone through traumatic times as any, but refuses to be kept down. She prides herself on being able to bounce back from any kind of situation.
Winter is an optimist and an idealist. She refuses to see the dark in people until they leave her absolutely no choice. Dealing with bad situations is not her best attribute, while she doesn't get stressed and can clearly think of ways to remedy many situations, acting on them is something she has trouble doing.
Her family was never very close with each other. They were kind, but there was never an extreme connection between herself and her parents. Her brother on the other hand was her best friend, and the two shared everything with each other. They made a promise to each other at the age of ten that no matter what happened, they would stand by each others side, and she fully intends to keep that promise.
During her teen years, Winter was deeply traumatized by a forced reimancy initiation, although she was mentally scarred by this, reimancy has become an important part of her life. Once the initial shock of this new part of her was over, she decided she would accept it, and learn from it instead of fearing it.
On her and her brother's eighteenth birthday, the two decided that they were going to leave Avanthal and try to make a living in the more populated world. The two were not content with the lifestyle offered by the city, and were looking for something more exciting with their lives. Together they felt they had the skills to survive, and have so far, proven themselves correct.
Character History:
Winter shares a birthday with her best friend, and brother. The twins were born into a loving family that was loving and kind, but never keen on family values. Her father was constantly out at sea, making the newest maps of the eastern coast, and her mother was often depressed from this aforementioned fact, though she never showed it to the children, they knew.
As children, Neve and Winter developed an extremely close relationship since they had to entertain themselves and stick together while learning new things. They told each other their secrets, and they knew each other like the back of their hands.
During her teen years, Winter spent her time learning how to cook, sew, and fish. Her brother on the other hand, spent his time learning how to hunt, both on land and at sea, as well as how to navigate the sea, just like their father. At first, they were happy with how things were going, but as time drug on, the routine got more and more tiring and old.
When Winter was fourteen years old, she was on the outskirts of Avanthal, walking back to her home from a trip to town to buy food when she was approached by a strange figure. While unnerved, the optimist side of Winter refused to see him as a bad person. She was proven wrong however, when he knocked her out, and kidnapped her. For days she was kept in a cell, and eventually she was forced into a reimancy initiation. The man who had taken her claimed to have wanted to start an army of reimancers to take over Avanthal and claim it as his own.
A few days after her introduction into reimancy however, the man was killed by a vigilante, who would not stay long enough to attain the thanks of all of those he had saved. When she made her way home, both her parents and her brother burst into tears to see her. Still extremely traumatized from the event, Winter refused to tell her parents what had happened, and made up a story that she was positive they didn't truly believe.
It would only take a few days before she told Neve what had happened. She was in a dark place, and needed his help to bounce back out of it, like she said she always would. Though it took time, the two worked it out, and she resumed being her normal self again. She just decided that she would embrace the power that was bestowed upon her, even though she did not initially want it.
In the four years following this event, life went on almost as though nothing happened. But on her eighteenth birthday, Winter and Neve decided they would take what they had learned in the years they had lived, and set out for a fresh start, in a new world.
