Lyssa Redstone
Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 16 Birthday: 12th of Winter, 498 AV Birthplace: The Mithryn Outpost, Sylira Appearance: Lyssa has long auburn-red hair that falls in straight lines to the middle of her chest. Often times the long red hair is pulled back into a tight ponytail to keep it out of her face and her way during training or riding. Only when she is relaxing or doing recreational activities does she let it down. Her skin is an average pale hue for humans, but is covered in little brown freckles, all over her face, neck, chest, hips, arms and legs, even her back has the little marks all over it. She attributes the spots to spending as much time in the sun as she can, but even in the winter when she is less likely to be found out side, the freckles remain, dark and prominent. Her eyes are a light coppery brown color with a few flecks of gold in the iris. Despite how she may try to intimidate others with her fierce gaze and extreme stubbornness, she is not at all physically intimidating. Standing only at 5'3" she is short. Her form is pretty slender too, her overall physique being best described as wirey, because despite looking like a twig, she does have some muscle built up from her years as a Page and then a Squire. What she lacks in power though, she makes up for in speed. She likes to call herself fleet-footed and is better than the avergae squire at ducking out of the way during melee practice, but being a squire,s he still gets hit quite a bit. Her body almost always has bruises and scratches on her face, hands and legs, if not in most other places. These are all likely from training. Character Concept A stubborn Squire for the Knights who wants to join the Order like her father, and become a Knight. She only hopes to go further than her father did and become a well respected Knight in the Order, maybe even go on to mentor Squires like herself one day, and go on important missions. Despite how many other Knights may view the ranged weapon skills, Lyssa finds Archery with a Shortbow to be quite fun. She enjoys the idea of getting to take careful aim at her foes and take them out without her even seeing them. While others might see this as cowardly, she thinks of it as skillful and clever. Character History Lyssa Redstone was born to a Syliran Knight and his wife, Jory and Ava Redstone. Ava was the daughter of a farmer from the Mithryn Outpost and Jory was a hereditary Knight who followed his father into the Order. It was known that as soon as Ava was pregnant that the child would be raised and brought into the Syliran Knights Order. Jory was just a young Knight, no high rank or anything, but on his way from Syliras to the Outpost one day he got side tracked, wandering off the road to pick wild flowers for his wife and new born baby, when he was attacked and killed. No one was quite sure what killed him, only that he was very likely dead. A few months after the incident a set of armor and a Knights tabard covered in blood was brought in and everyone accepted that they belonged to Jory, as no other Knight at the time had disappeared in the same location. So Ava moved back to her parents farm and raised her daughter with the help of her aging parents, Grandpa and Grandma Fields. Lyssa was taught some about farming, and raising livestock, mostly cows and a few dogs that helped with herding and what not, but none of it stuck, she was more interested in playing Knights with the other children in neighboring farms. The stories of the Knights and the knowledge her father was one kept her interest too well. When she turned eleven she eventually convinced her mother to take her to Syliras to become a Page in the Order. The whole days way to the city Ava tried and tried to talk Lyssa out of it, but the girl was stubborn and only wanted what she wanted. Ava left Lyssa in the hands of the Knights, and would come to visit her daughter, bringing her parents, now and then, when they could afford to rent a small room in one of the inns or with Jory's family in the city. Lyssa spent her days as a Page living with and getting lessons from a few different Sponsers and their families. She seemed unphased by being away from her family and jumped head first into every lesson that was handed to her and took every errand she was given as if it were a real mission. By the time she turned thirteen she became a Squire. It was during this time things began to slow down for her. Where once all the lessons were easy to Lyssa they were becoming increasingly more difficult. She also struggled to find a Knight to train under and learn from. Now Sixteen Lyssa is starting to mellow out and get a hold of the lessons, her focus and stubborn determination returning to her. She still needs a Knight to Squire under, but she is getting better with the assigned skills she must learn. She is already getting pretty good at the longsword and has been getting better at riding now that she has a horse of her own to practice on any time.
