This thread is composed of posts based on Ricky and any sort of plans I've noted down for him OOC, he is a character stationed in Zeltiva at this point but in time may wind up traveling elsewhere; only with good reason however. Plotnotes Version 2.3

About

Version 2.3 offers a much easier and simple form when it comes to navigation of the Plotnotes section, the thread itself has been summarized in terms of information so the contents no longer overwhelm the reader. While the setup remains the same there have been a couple of changes to the thread, the old "Levels" post for instance has been removed for lack of useful purposes.

The Plotnotes is a thread that is based solely on a player's individual character, and therefore the player can customize their own core as they choose. To start one only needs to think and write down all the possible ideas they have, and in turn generate those ideas into posts that will make their Plotnotes based on them. There are many ways the player can customize their own Plotnotes, and it all depends on what they choose to add.

About

Here resides a compilation of plot arcs I've decided to work on, along with brief notes on them while I continue to flesh out their details. I'm always open for a thread with others, and of course planning out arcs with others is something I enjoy as well. So pm me if you'd like to plan and scheme together!

 

Childhood

A series of flashbacks, set between years 496 AV to 504 AV. Fleshing out the years Ricky spent as a child while he lived as a son of a sailor. Currently shelved for now.

 

Friendship

A series of flashbacks, set between years 504 AV to 508 AV. Fleshing out the years Ricky spent improving friendships with others in the city. Currently shelved for now.

 

Fisherman

A series of flashbacks, set between years 508 AV to 510 AV. Fleshing out the years Ricky spent living in the city. Currently shelved for now.

 

Oblivion

Currently Ricky's quest!

The earnest desire to start over comes with a quest to wipe the slate completely clean, however the only known solution Ricky can conjure is to find a hypnotist of high caliber. In an effort to move on and make a new life for himself, after the political scandal he'd been caught up in back in Zeltiva, he searches for a way to either overcome or succumb to the past that haunts his every step.

Everybody who's done a RPG knows that these exist, or at least they should anyways. I've decided to put together a personal board for side quests that this character is inclined to share. It presents opportunities to do favors and/or partake in mini-game challenges, and improve the relationship between this character and another player's character.

Quest/Favor Title is where the name of the quest or thread goes, with a link provided to the thread once its officially posted up.
Participants names the pc's that have taken on the quest.
Difficulty and Progression Displays the level of challenge the quest carries as well as its progress.
Slots displays the amount of openings a quest has before it is considered full.
Time stamp and Summary is a brief explanation of what the quest entails.
Reward is pretty much self explanatory. We all like rewards though, correct?

Alleviated Torment
(Balian) {Special} [Easy: In Progress]
(Summer 31st 514 AV, 19th Bell) A couple sitting in The Fool's Errand located within the Mithyran Outpost appear to be having a bit of trouble, the woman's husband appears to be suffering from some time of chronic headache or migraine and incapable of little communication. The woman has asked somebody to see if they might be able to bring him some sort of tonic or something to ease his pain, so that their trip could be a little easier the next day.

The Things We Lose

(Autumn 8th 514 AV, 12th Bell) It seems that while Ricky had gone out for a stroll with his son, Martin has managed to lose one of his precious toys somewhere. The fisherman will have great appreciation for whoever decides to help find the precious toy, if they can think of the place that it could've been lost at while the father and son wandered around.

(Autumn 15th 514 AV, 8th Bell) The fisherman's family has decided to spend their day at the docks to do a little fishing together, however it seems that there is a problem as a few essentials are missing and need to be replenished before they can fish. If there's anybody who might be willing to lend the family a hand, they'd definitely appreciate a favor to such a person.

(Autumn 20th 514 AV, 15th Bell) While visiting the graves of his loved ones Ricky remembers seeing a certain flower that grew within the reaches of the Memorial Grounds, but doesn't think they still grow even in this time of the year. Anybody who thinks that they can prove otherwise might find some appreciation, as well as bit of admiration, out of Ricky during his visit to the Memorial Grounds.

Established from the project A Man's Hope is His Castle, this entails what all currently found in Ricky's humble abode. Any significant changes that might occur are going to be recorded here, while in the long run Ricky is going to focus on turning his home into the dream house he's always wanted. There's also a Travel Log for any long term travel plans that may come into play.

Bonds

About
During the game characters interact and in turn create a Bond that they can build upon, and that Bond is a reflection upon the tangible similarities as well as differences between the two characters. There exists a variety of ways to make and establish a Bond, and that Bond can in turn grow in multiple forms depending on what transpires.

 

Branches

A variety of Bonds exist for a character to explore, and that variety is based on the personal aspect the Bond has maintained with such a person. To keep it simple however we will narrow it down to three main Branches that a person can keep up with, ultimately allowing where they will stand in terms of alignment with this character. It is however in those three Branches a few more might exist, each dependent on what kind of relationship the person wants with this character.

Stranger- The main branch that all first start out with. It is simplistic in nature as it determines whether or not a person will be an Acquaintance or an Adversary, mostly due to the nature of the cause the person might portray. If this character turns out to like a person he just met, then chances are you stand ready to become a Friend. If however you find this character disliking a person, then odds are a probably Enemy seems likely to occur.

Friend- The branch of the "favored" so to speak. This is a branch that presents much opportunity when it comes to the character, as it allows a person the ability foster friendship with the passage of time. Maintaining that friendship is what's important however as too much time apart may weaken the Bond, and the stronger the Bond is then the longer it may take for it to finally be broken. Friendship isn't the only sort of Bond that can exist in this Branch, love can even bloom if this character is willing or inclined to allow such a thing. How the Bond grows as well as reflects on that growth is up to you however.

Enemy The branch of the "despised" as it is referred to. The branch is a side which involves the darker nature of this character, and the creation of much woe or spite as one develops this sort of Bond. Opportunity isn't as forthcoming in this branch as it is in the Friend, but there does exist a separate part of the branch where one may find themselves a respected adversary at best. Rivalry is something not to be taken lightly however as it does come with its own pros and cons, it is however the main branch that the Enemy follows that proves most dangerous. The greater one projects himself as an threat, then the larger the enemy may appear to the character. This is a bargain for a role most dangerous, as only the path to war can stem from such a relation.

 

Improvement

Improvement of a particular Bond is dependent on similarities and differences between two characters, and while this is true there also exists a multitude of ways to improve the relationship. People have likes, dislikes, and qualities that they tend to favor, and while they may find agreement or disagreement in things; actions are what speak louder than words at any time. Doing things or promoting things that the character agrees with, or sharing in the same ideals the character shares is a great start to improving a well built Friendship. Or you can oppose him and become his greatest enemy yet, always being the obstacle that may challenge some kind of belief he holds.

So really it is up to you, the player, to be creative and find ways that may either make or break a Friendship/Rivalry with the character. The most important aspect is to do so while having fun with it!
