23rd Fall, AV 510

Artos had the foresight to change into his human forms a few miles back up the road from the gate. It would give him time to reallocate to the weight and form of the body he'd be using for a time. Coming up to the gate he felt out of place, the few times he had entered it had been as an escort to a merchant. At the time he got in without having to really say much, the merchant talking for him as had always been the normal manner.

Taking a deep breath he would look up at the sky a moment, it couldn't be past 14 bells and there was still plenty of day for him to find lodging and food. With his right hand he would lightly brush the hilt of the survival knife on his belt. While it might seem an aggressive gesture it was really just a mental security of being prepared. With a bit of a stretch he would walk up to the gate and give a nod to the guards.

Both of the guards had seen him a ways off, which in reality would be a difficult thing not to do at his size. They had both an interest to take a closer look at him if not for his size then for his rough appearance. Though who wouldn't be rough after traveling the wilds alone, even if they were a bear.

"Afternoon, name and purpose?" The tone was friendly enough but the eyes were very clearly in a state of concern. The way the hand shifted slightly on his equipment told more of his thoughts that his words had.

"Artos, food, supplies, a bed and work," the tone came out flat, and his face remained almost uninterested.

The guard who had asked the question cocked an eye at the monotone reply. Without saying anything he'd point at the bag Artos carried in his hand rather than using over his back. Without any need to ask meaning he would open and hand the mostly empty bag to the man.

While looking in the bag the man commented in a way Artos' hadn't expected, "Kelvic huh?" Without looking up he answered the question lingering from coming out of Artos' mouth, "It's the eyes. Don't worry though, your kind have no natural issues here as long as you follow the rules."

The guard would receive a nod in return for the words when the bag was returned to its owner. The man would then give him a quick jot of instructions on how to arrive at areas that would possibly lead to fulfilling Artos' purpose in coming. Artos' would place a hand on the fellows shoulder and give him a gentle smile before walking through the gates and with luck into a new chapter of his life.

13th Fall,AV 510

Torr calmly walked towards the main gate of slyliras, his dog Chief walking next to him giveing an exicted bark as the main gates came into sight.
"Chief stay next to me." he said towards the golden retriever. "I really don't want to burry you because some guard thought you where atacking him.

"Halt, state your name and business." A stern voice called out to him when he neared the gate."and hand over your bag for inspection." The guard also arched his eyebrow when he noticed him wearing a mask." Also get rid of the mask for a moment please."

"Torr, I am here to get work." Torr sighed as he handed over his backpack, and showed him that he had a crossbow hanging over his shoulder. "I am a hunter if you want to ask what its for." with great reluctance he pulled the mask from his face showing his malformed face to the guard who imedialty had a look of disguest on his face.
He put the mask back on, taking the offered backpack back with the other.
"Comon Chief lets go before they begin to puke at the thought of my face."

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates - Amnesia

Postby Thomas Alexandrite on October 11th, 2010, 12:36 am

40th Fall, AV 510

Darkness, that's all Thomas could see, complete and utter darkness. "Where am I?" Thomas thought to himself. Slowly his surroundings came to life. The sounds of wilderness and civilization danced in his ears. "What happened?" Thomas thought, sliding his arms underneath his laying body. His head felt like it was ready to fall open allowing everything inside slide out. Thomas slowly lifted himself up onto his knees. Hovering over a puddle his head was in, he examined the reflection. Thomas looked confused, uncertain who the reflection was. Concentrating on his reflection, two drops of blood slid from his left ear, falling straight into the clear puddle, disturbing the reflection with crimson.

Slowly Thomas lifted his hand to feel the back of his head. With the softest touch, the hand came into contact with his head, and a sharp pain shot back and forth causing Thomas' eyes to tear up. He removed his hand, staring at the blood covering it. "How did I..." Thomas began, but was interrupted by shattering pain in his side. He must of been kicked because the pain felt like that of broken ribs. Slowly Thomas tried to stand, but was unsuccessful, falling back onto his behind. "Come on you." Thomas thought to himself, and lifted into standing position again. Thomas huffed, and began looking at his surroundings. All he could see was woods, woods, and more woods, but a few feet away, a stone path lay. Thomas gripped his ribs, and walked to the path.

Thomas was indeed pushing his limits, but ahead lay a city. Unsure of the name, Thomas still headed for it, he needed help badly. About a ten minute walk, and Thomas was at a massive gate, the entrance to the city. Thomas stopped to gather himself, he needed to sit, he needed a doctor. Slowly he walked up to the gate, but was stopped by one of the guards.

"State your bussiness!" The guard said. "I... I need a doc, a doctor, immediatly." Thomas said studdering, his vision starting to blur. Blood started to slid down his neck from the back of his head, and the guards eyes widened. "Come, come, this way, I will show you to the medical building." The guard said holding out his hand. "No... no, I will find it, just let me pass." Thomas replied slugishly. The guard gestured for Thomas to enter, and he did. A few steps into the city, and Thomas could no longer take the pain, his vision blured, darkening. Thomas walked five steps, and collapsed, luckily landing on sacks of wheat. Then it went dark again.

Postby Azarah on October 14th, 2010, 11:37 pm

Azarah began to push the leaves out of her way letting the brown and green earth show. She placed her supplies in the area and laid them out as flat as possible. She quickly covered them back up and sighed when she saw the little too obvious pile sitting there. "That'll have to do for now, I'm only a short ways to the city." She thought to herself. Looking up from her work she quickly surveyed the land around her. Feeling satisfied about her security she swung the rest of her food over her shoulder and made the short walk to the stone path.

Walking along she could see up ahead the main gates to Syliras, she smiled at the last memory of being here as a child. Glancing every now and again at the woods on both sides, she made her way to the city's entrance. She nodded to the guard, he looked at her sternly and said, "What be your business here miss." She smiles politely and says, "I'm hear to look for work and maybe a place to rest my head for the night, sir. Do you need to check my bag?" He nods and reaches out one of his hands. She let it slide off her shoulder and placed it neatly in his hand. He did a quick thorough check and handed it back to her. He nodded in approval and let her pass. What she saw next was more beautiful and strange than she remembered.

Postby Stag Fern on October 18th, 2010, 8:04 am

48th of Fall. 510 A.V

Stag was again tired and weary. He just came from Everstone forest and when he saw the walls he kneeled down and thanked the gods. From his view Sylirias wasn't that far away perhaps a mile or two either way he could easily have ran the distance but he didn't. Instead he decided to walk towards the gate itself.

The gate was huge so he swore that if he lied down he wouldn't cause any trouble or at least no scene in fact he nearly did when he was pushed aside by some person. Angry as he was he decided not to Better not start a fight don't want no bed in the dirt like last time. So he walked past him as he did that he looked at his face and promised himself he will remember him. The man had a pudgy face and was wearing such odd clothes colourful and eye-catching a huge beacon for all pick-pickpockets, muggers and beggars ooh boy this is gonna be good I almost feel sorry for him..but I'll get over it he snickered to himself but just then a guard went up to him "Boy who are you and what buisness do you have here" he said with a little disgust. It was proably the clothes he was wearing all torn or ripped slightly he looked like a street child with an axe. Stag forgave him muttering to himself about him seeing someone like him. Stag looked the guard in the eye and said "I am Stag Fern sir, I have been travelling for along time my purpose is to find maybe a job but right now to rest my weary feet". The guard looked at him and spied him suspiciously but alas he was let in. The next thing he knew he was inside the grandest city he has been to..so far.

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Postby Nehsmay on October 20th, 2010, 5:13 pm

50 of Fall A.V.

A petite vantha woman made her way towards the large gates of Syliras, followed by a silver colt that went by the name of Shade. Every now and then the colt would chew on her hair slightly to nudge her forward. The Vantha whose name was Nehsmay remained in awe watching the beautiful architecture. Everything was so different from her home town, Avanthal.

She walked to the main gates and stopped before the two guards. One of them looked at her and asked gruffly. "Who are you and what business do you have in Syliras?"

Startled, Nehsmay's eyes turned a dark brown shade, but she managed to answer without stuttering. "Nehsmay Frostfawn, sir. I'm a traveler. I'm here to visit the city, find accommodation for a week or two and maybe find something to work in the meantime."

"A vantha, huh?"
The guard smiled "Haven't seen one in some time. Ok, you can pass." The guard stepped aside and Nehsmay walked inside the city, still holding Shade's reins tightly.

50 of Fall in the Year 510 AV

A slender girl followed closely behind the Vantha woman, observing everything with a mixture of fear and awe. When Nehsmay stopped, the girl peered over her shoulder, trying to figure out what was going on. With a quizzical look, she turned back to the man behind her, Seliarus. She'd never entered a city like this before, but this was only the second city she'd ever seen.

As Nehsmay talked with the guard, Nidassasyae stood beside Seliarus. Nidae looked up at the fortified gate, shuddering a bit. It looked as if she were to be locked into a stone cage. With a nervous gulp, she slipped her arm around Seliarus', her eyes widening like a frightened animal. Though Avanthal had walls, they seemed of ice, something anyone in the North knew could be used for shelter. But this, this great stone cage with iron bars, the very thought of it frightened her. She took a small step backwards, hanging on to the Dhani man's arm. The leopardess took a quick look to see what Nehsmay was doing, and she seemed to be answering some questions from the guards.

Great. Just great. This guard was going to ask her a question! Was it going to be the same one he asked Nehsmay? The girl wondered, the idea of being asked her business before she entered a place was completely foreign to her, and she started to think that if she didn't answer correctly, she might not be allowed inside. "Let me do the talking," she whispered to Seliarus, not wanting her newfound companion to not be allowed into the city.

When Nehsmay had walked into the city, one guard turned to Nidae. Taking a deep gulp of air, she waited nervously until he asked her a question.

"Name?" asked one guard in a commanding voice, looking down at the young kelvic. Nidassasyae almost sighed with relief, did they always ask such easy questions? Nevertheless, she was almost scared of answering this strange man. The sunlight glinting off his armor hurt her eyes, and she had to squint to see him.

"Nidassasyae Iskedarst," She replied, just managing not to shrink back against Seliarus. Nidae managed a small smile to the guard, revealing long and sharp canines.

"A Kelvic, huh? We get one of you, about one in every seven hundred visitors or so. Don't be nervous, little one," the guard smiled down at the girl. "Where's your master?"

Nidae thought quickly, what was she supposed to say to that? She stalled, looking up at Seliarus. The leopardess didn't know if Dhani were allowed into the city, but it seemed better to be safe than sorry. "I don't have a master. This is my friend, Sel, he's like my brother, he takes care of me." Again, she didn't know if Seliarus wanted his true name to be know, though all this confusion and lying seemed pretty odd to her. "He hardly speaks common, I translate for him."

The guard nodded, asking, "And what's your business here in Syliras?"

Nidassasyae looked up at Seliarus as if asking a question, the looked back at the guard. "We're just travelers, here to get a few week's rest. Maybe find some work," she said, and this time it wasn't a lie.

The guard nodded, looking the strange girl up and down. She was just wearing a rough woolen tunic and breeches, that looked to be made for colder weather than this. Her pack was stowed with Nehsmay's belongings, carried on Shade.

"Alright, you may pass," said the guard, glancing up at the next person who wished to enter the city. Nidassasyae nodded her thanks, letting out a sigh of relief. The young leopard glanced up at Seliarus, still clutching at his arm, waiting to see when he would enter the city. There was no way she was entering this stone cage alone.

The 50 of fall, 510 AV

The Dhani took a deep breath, as his eyes gazed on the city. He was not exactly relaxed, as he slowly shifted toward the gates. What was this, anyways? This so wasn't the Nest architecture he was used on seeing. How did people even manage to live here. And walls bigger than most of the trees in the forest, and, guards that are armed like there is a war raging inside, or outside. He didn't like that at all. But he tried to keep his composure, so that he wouldn't stand out in the crowd. He kept close to the Kelvic on his side, and his eyes traveled from the walls towards the Vantha, who walked in front of them. Suddenly, this whole idea seemed stupid. But then he felt something fiddling around his arm, as he seen the Kelvic wrap her hand around his. He understood that she wasn't exactly thrilled to enter it as well. He sighed again, slightly nodding at her action.

Then, one of the guards stepped closer. He listened to him asking the first question, and looked down at the blue eyed girl near him. As she spoke, he stayed silent, and he tried to avoid looking at the guard. But then, however, he heard his name, or well, at least a part of it being spoken. He didn't know what to do next, but he decided to look at the guard, and slightly nod at him, just so he would understand that this 'Sel' they are talking about, is he. After the guard asked his third question, the Dhani looked to the ground, and then at the Kelvic. He had no idea what to answer to this, but he hopped that she had any idea. And luckily, she did.

As they were allowed in the city, and the question asking guard was distanced away, the Dhani sighed deeply, and shook his head. That wasn't something he wanted to do anytime soon, but he was happy that they made it inside. He looked once more at his companion, and forcing a weak smile on his lips. He whispered lightly. "We did it..." Before he looked around. He could feel that she wasn't comfortable in entering the city, so he lightly lifted his free hand up, and ruffle her hair gently, trying to relax her a bit. "Let'sss go inssside...And hope we didn't lossse our Vantha friend."
"Who knows? Life is like a roll on the dice. You can’t know if something is a good, or a bad roll until it already happened."

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Postby Lelio on October 21st, 2010, 4:14 pm

Time stamp: 50th of Fall, 510 AV

Fate was a funny thing, for Lelio was trying his best not to get thrown out of Syliras a couple of minutes before the trio would stride through the gates. One guard lifting him by the back of his shirt and another sternly eyeing him, things did not look so well. The little Kelvic whose legs couldn't even touch the ground had his arms crossed on his chest, his usual radiant smile replaced by a childish pout.

So. Let us recap. You hindered Sir Thomas, a good and honest merchant, from selling his wares.

Not true! I-

You then refused to answer the guards and tried to run away

But it wa-

And finally, you little savage even bit my hand!

Well, it sure didn't taste good anyway, Lelio answered with a grumpy tone.

The soldier, Mat, sighed deeply, almost wondering aloud what to do about him. His colleagues always told him he was too kind for this job, but what was he going to do? Throw this kid out of the city? Put him under arrest? Fine him? From his looks, it would be already surprising if he had enough for lodging. The image of having this youngster dying of cold and hunger somewhere off in a dark alley haunted him. This time and only this time he would he let him get away.

What's your name.

Lelio.

Lelio, right. You're no longer a kid, so act with more responsibility. I'll let you go this time, but do not get caught again.

The young Kelvic's face shone bright as a the sun as he heard freedom calling him through the Mat's voice. The other soldier let go of him and he landed on his two feet a beaming smile on his face.

Thank you mister! he said with gratitude.

Not two seconds later, he was nowhere to be found. Lost in the crowd already, Mat thought with a smile. Not a minute later, another soldier came to inform him that this "Lelio" had already been caught and released no less than four times already this month. Mat sighed again. He really was too kind for this job.

"
An... Angry husband is the reason for your visit to Syliras?" The guard asked incredulously, peering over Vanthan man before him.
"
Angry husbands." Khal returned solemnly, "Plural. They were working together, does that seem sporting to you? It doesn't seem sporting to me,
you sleep with a man's wife you expect him to come after you, but am I wrong in thinking that that should be a solo man on man sort
of a task?
"

A flat stare was the guard's only response.

"
Well anyway, I thought it best I get out of there you know? And hey I've always wanted to live in a castle." The young man continued,
taking a moment to peer up at the impressive structure of Syliras.

With a weary sigh the guard nodded, "
Alright, go on through..."

"
Excellent..." Khal replied, hitching the pack with his belongings up further on his shoulder, "and remember, if three angry bearded husbands
come through here, one with a peg leg, you didn't see me.
" He tells the guard with a broad grin as he makes his way into the city.
