Well a Locksmith is a type of metalsmith. Does the same stuff as a metalsmith (crafting items out of metal), but he just happens to be more... specialised. I would hazard a guess, therefore, that a Locksmith would requir similar tools to that of a Mizaharian Blacksmith, and would need to create individual shapes using moulds to shape the metal before assembling all of them to make the lock itself, and then having moulds to make the keys. And then a range of tools designed for repairing broken locks, and the tools of a whitesmith, maybe to sand down rough edges?
But I'm not expert in the world of metalsmithing so don't quote me on that, it just seems to me that locksmiths of older real world times require similar (more honed) skills to that of a blacksmith. Maybe they even work in a smithy... Hope this helps a little ^.^
Here’s the list of what I think you need depending on what you find fun to write about in first hand; I think the locksmithing can be service or crafting. Or both. A way to get the tools without buying them is to start working in a place where the employer provides the tools.
Security and locksmithing service • Give advice about security and sell locks (with keys) - Lores of locks and security • Install locks - Crafter’s Toolkit • Pick locks to help people who are locked out or need to open boxes - Lockpicks • Dissemble and repair broken locks - Crafter’s Toolkit • Key duplication - Keymaker’s Toolkit, brazier, fuel, materials, small melting pot
Gadgeteer specialized in crafting of keys and locks • Design and construction of locks - This part of it actually looks very similar to gadgeteering, a specialty within gadgeteering. I don’t know, but one way of thinking would be to consider a competent locksmith the same as a competent gadgeteer, specialized in locks only. This would mean your PC would be able to make simple locks, as a competent gadgeteer is able to make simple clocks. And at expert level he would be able to make complex locks. At master level I guess he’d be able to make really advanced locks with unique innovative security mechanisms.
This is just my idea of how it could be possible to reason, I haven't found anything about in the wiki. If you want this part of it I think you might need : Drawing toolkit, Carver’s Toolkit, Crafter’s Toolkit, and maybe also the skill of metalsmithing and related tools
