An Average Day(Darrus)

Mino gave a nod and gave Lilliana a peck on the cheek as Darrus had, and made her way out back. She stopped in the bathroom to remove her clothes and take on a cainine form.

Scampering out the door she met up with Darrus. Mino pranced around him playfully for a bit. Let's get that big one today! It's waiting! It's waiting! I'm ready to run it down. She took her place at the lead. Giving her trademark yodel-ish howl. Preparing the other dogs for the day.

Darrus was finishing up harnessing the rest of the dogs when Mino bounded out, already transformed and ready to go. "I know, I know, I'm excited too, just give me a chance to get my spear or we won't be bringing anything back." He laughed, harnessing his bondmate into the lead position before running into the shed to grab his weapon of choice. The copper head of the longspear gleamed as the sunlight hit it, casting a small orangish spot of light along the snow that bounced as he walked. He set the spear in front of him in the sled and rechecked the harnesses, the sled, as well as the dogs themselves, it never hurt to be too careful. Satisfied with his final check, he stepped onto the skids at the end of the sled and held tight. "Alright Mino, let's head out!"

Mino gave a yodel and the sled went speeding off. Mino ran. She loved to run. She often wondered what feelings the sled ride gave him. She wished she could share what it felt like to lead the sled.

Treess and shrubbery became blurs as the sled rocketed across the frozen forest floor. She was gonna run this sled father than she ever had, to that giant dreamed beast.

Mino had also dreamed of the creature. Never telling her master. It no, He was a shapeshifter appearing as an elk, deer, and wolf. He had almost been showing her a path to him. As if taunting 'catch me'. She would run untill she found him

Even with years of riding on the sled he still found himself nearly being thrown off as it started up with unusual force. Something had lit a fire within his bondmate and it was infecting the rest of the team. There was this determined anticipation that hovered around them, and he could feel it creeping into himself as well. Even with his experience he still felt that same chill of excitement crawling up his spine that he had felt on his first time out, something his father had said was the sign of a good musher.

He was surprised to see how far out they were going, although he knew that they wouldn't get lost. He had grown to rely on Mino for tracking down the prey before, waiting until they were able to get along side before delivering the fatal blow (most of the time) courtesy of a spear head to the spine, as close to the neck as he could get it. He had learned to use one of his legs to stablize himself just long enough to use both hands on the spear, only retracting if he either missed or the beast kept going. Even with the relative smoothness of the snow and ice, he still wasn't able to maintain that stance for long without falling off. He returned his attention to the path ahead, wondering what could have brought on the sudden burst of energy. He could only hope that whatever they found didn't disappoint the team.
