Drykas Questions

So I'm looking to start out as a Drykas and I just had a few questions.

1. Are their already established Pavilions or are they a smaller family sized group? Do we create a Pavilion unique to our character?

2. How does one go about being "chosen" by a strider? Is it restricted or is there some sort of requirement?

3. How common is being chosen by a strider?

Hello I am the ST for Endrykas.
There are a few Pavilions already made, if you want to look through the registry located here you can pm the actual Drykas and maybe talk about relations when your character is set up.

If you make a Drykas you have two options, to start without a strider or to start with one. Bonding to a strider is not that hard, the Strider chooses a rider who they think is good and useful. Striders are souls of old webbers.

Being chosen by a Strider is very common among the Drykas. Since you are not considered to be a Drykas without a strider and your windmarks.

Piggybacking off this thread, rather than starting a new one -

What happens if your strider dies, in terms of your status within Endrykas? Is everything fine, as long as you've already earned your windmarks... or can Drykas lose some of their status if they aren't chosen by a new strider quickly enough?

Also, flipping it the opposite way... what happens to a strider if their rider dies? Do/can they pick a new rider, or are there a lot of old, riderless striders kicking around?

Based on questions I've seen answered before:

1) Bonding to a Strider requires the 'right' Strider and the 'right' Drykas. So it can be expected to take a while for a Drykas to re-bond after their first Strider's death. If it took a very long time, people might talk, but I don't expect there would be a loss of status/Drykas identity per se, unless one also did something egregious.

2) Pretty sure a Strider may bond to another Drykas if they lose their first.

Khida is right. A Drykas would not lose his status if his Strider died. Though there maybe some heckling from young Drykas and talking of the old.

A Strider can rebond if their rider dies. Though some may choose not to.
