Avanze Appearance Race: Akalak Gender: Male Age: 33 Birthday: 24, Summer, 482. Birthplace: Riverfall Appearance: Standing at a towering 7'1", this giant blue man is obviously Akalak. His skin is nearly flawless, bright Admiral Blue color, dark but not too much so. His hair was short, long enough to cover part of his elongated ears, but short enough to still be above his eyebrows. Only the tips of his ears could be seen, the rest covered by his raven black hair. His bangs fell to cover his forehead, swept easily and casually to the right so that his hair would make a barely discernible spiral. His lips were shapely, a shade darker than his admiral blue skin. He had a strong jaw, giving him a beautifully chiseled face. His eyes were almond shaped and slanted, the sclera black instead of white. The iris was grey in color, breaking the black of his eyes as it went to the pitch black pupil. Being Akalak, he kept his body in superb shape, exercising every morning when he woke and every night before bed. He was slim, yet heavily muscled, which intimidated more people than he thought. Character Concept Avanze, or the soul of Avanze, is considered the light brother in the body. He's quiet and thoughtful, yet considerably dangerous. He prefers to read when he doesn't have anything to do, but a lot of the time he is exercising and/or practicing with his Lakan, both of them. Being the light brother, Avanze usually has control of the body from the dark brother, Etnava. Etnava is the exact opposite of Avanze. He is loud and boisterous, always remarking about how deadly he is. A constant nagging in his ear, like a very loud fly. He prefers to go and kill things than to read as Avanze does, and is very, very aggressive, though he is not without his good characteristics. He's a strong fighter, with more knowledge about it than Avanze. Yes, Avanze is super dangerous on his own, but working with Etnava, he becomes powerful deadly and strategic. Etnava knows strategies upon strategies, always thinking of them when he's quiet and not watching through the eyes or whispering things to Avanze. Only recently discovered, Etnava is found to be an insecure individual. He wants severely to be a true Akalak, though he harbors doubts that he is a Helioc, a useless soul, because of his undisciplined personality. Like most Akalak, Avanze and Etnava are always fighting about one thing or the other. Their two opposite personalities put them at many differences, and they both wished they had someone else to share a body with. Though, there is a certain hard love between them, a love that one only knows when they set aside their differences and worked together to succeed over big obstacles and a love that forms when one shares all thoughts with the other. Though they try to not think of it at all whatsoever, they both wish to become and feel as one being, to experience that "upper level" their father is always talking about, the very level he achieved himself. Though neither of them speak of think of it, they are making progress towards that goal; very, very slowly, yes, but progress nonetheless. Character History Born and raised in Riverfall, his mother was a Konti, whom his father fell in love with during his travels. He brought her back to Riverfall, where they had 4 children, though 2 of them haven't survived. Avanze is more like his pa than his ma, a strong warrior and possessed a love of battle and traveling, which lead him to going to Syliras, where he now resides. The journey was rather easy for him, for during his travels, his father was able to acquire large sums of money and sent Avanze on his way. This was the only help he was getting, as he had to make it himself in the world when he turned 30. At 30, like all Akalaks, he created his own Lakan, a dagger created only by the Akalak. He spent 2 full days working on it in the forge, making it a lot like his fathers but with his own improvements, too. The end piece was masterful, a truly stunning weapon imbued with a little of his soul, and a little of his dark brothers soul, too. After he crafted his dagger, his father gave started teaching him in Unarmed Combat, though a good bit in wielding Lakan. He taught his unofficial protege to use his fists to defeat his opponents, in the case that he finds himself without his dagger. They both decided on his going to Syliras, to learn under the Knight Naka Hirom, to finish his training in Unarmed Combat and come back an even better warrior. When he turned 32, he finally set out. Using one of his fathers caravans to get their in mild comfort. He still exercised, obviously, but he used a lot of the time to read, learning more and more about Syliras' history with his fathers only book, which he still hasn't finished. Recent History Spring of 515 AV, Avanze was finally accepted into the Order of Syliran Knights as a Squire, under the Patron Naka Hirom. There. he hopes to train his Unarmed Combat to greater heights, and hope to create his own martial arts style. Although he's already been developing it, he hopes to make it even better by learning to fight as a Master.

Two, tall wood beams are sunk in the ground. From either one, chains extend down to connect, at four points, to a wood/rope figure resembling a humanoid. The construct is mean to simulate to some extent, movement from a target as it is struck; thus granting simulated body response to a strike. It is useful in training any form of combat be it armed or unarmed. The dummy itself may be armored, clothed, or left bare depending on the needs of the training.
