The Pycon had enough on his plate as it was, without worrying about fighting as well. Riding a horse would likely be hard enough. As for fighting, whether it be with or without a weapon, the only thing Arch could really do was stand around as a very small target. Never would he pick up a sword. Human weapons were very ill-fitting when fighting creatures that could be upwards of ten or more times the size of you. The same reason that Alex would never pick up a Pycon weapon.. he'd never have to fight anything that relative size; if he did then Sylir help all of Mizahar and beyond. "If it ever comes down to fighting, I suggest that you do exactly what I do and don't hang around."
Not that he was afraid of any of those things. "We're not around to fight off monsters. We're squires and..." for a moment, the squire stopped mid-stride and sighed inwardly before continuing "it's our duty to report anything we see to the knights immediately." No matter how annoying it was.. no matter how they felt about it, whether doing so could result in horrible consequences. They weren't knights.. it wasn't their duty to become involved in such things. Not yet, at least. Perhaps eventually. "That said, we'll still need to pick you out some weapons at some point, if you don't already have any.." He'd probably skipped over any weapons the boy had on him at the moment.. or any talk about them. He was a little too busy trying to avoid being stepped on by everyone. Including the squire he was supposed to be escorting.
"Mm.. I suppose that could work as well." He was reluctant, obviously, but there was little other choice. He couldn't go around jumping on people's heads in front of the other squires. Arch didn't take up the offer immediately though - he waited until they'd rounded a small corridor that stemmed the flow of passing workers and visitors passing through the streets so that they had some time for the squirrel to hop up onto Alexander's shoulder before they continued again. "Just for now, though. Once I have Xarex, I think I'll be able to make my own way back out again."
