Claudia gradually left the hot springs clad just in her towel, cradling her clothes and other belongings nestled in a pack near her bosom. She stopped mid-way, turning her head to throw a glance towards Holland's way to see if he was actually following or not. He seemed to have broken out from his trance, and was now following her rather closely behind. He must have quickly behind her as she felt his hands interlocking with hers. She smiled briefly as she let his hands remained in hers.

But she wasn't planning on walking all the way to the camp site dressed in just her towel here. Thankfully the spot she chose was relatively secluded, away from the main group of the spring’s visitors. It also had plenty of trees that formed a shelter of sorts, away from prying eyes. Ignoring the fact that Holland was close behind, she released her grip from his hand as she got close to the trunks of the trees, and unceremoniously dumped all her clothes on the grass-covered ground.

It looked clean enough anyway, and she'll rather get it done fast. She undid her towel, letting it fall to the ground revealing her bare back form to Holland. But that was not her intention, her intention was to get dressed and quickly. Since he had already seen her nude earlier, she thought it no harm for him to see again once more.

She quickly put on her undergarments, before dragging the same shirt she always wore down her head downwards over her chest. She then did the same for the pants, only pulling it upwards instead of down. Her long golden brown hair was in disarray, and she parted it slightly, pushing her fringe away from her face as she turned back to look at Holland. She gave him a mischievous smile and a wink before turning back to smooth her clothes. Quickly moving on, she stepped forwards, continuing the walk back to where the camp sites were located near the main group were.

It was not long before the pair of them arrived at the camp sites situated near where the main areas of the hot springs were. Arriving at an empty camp site, she proceeded to place her belongings in the tent, and started to get a fire going. Taking a quick glance towards the sky, she could see the dark hues of the skies that signalled the arrival of night. Sunset had came and went while they were making the trek to the camp sites, and it would not be long before dark. They weren't the only couple here, with two other couples in the neighbouring camping spots.

Claudia quickly got a fire going with her flint and steel, and the heat from the fire quickly gave the surroundings a much appreciated warmth. She stretched out her hands near the fire, warming them, as the cold of the night has started to settle in, bringing darkness with it. She had no idea where Holland was, but he must be somewhere close by. She then spoke gently, full of emotions in her words, trusting him to listen if he would. "So...about us." She paused for several chimes, unsure of how to continue. She was still very new when it came to romantic relationships like these and wasn't exactly sure how to proceed or even talk about it. "About us..our future..how do you see us? As for me, I don't really have any particular idea set into stone. All I know is I don't wish to have children yet, not until I am ready. When that will be I do not know yet." As she spoke, she stared into the flames, as if seeing things in the fire.

What she didn't know however, was that Holland had plans for her, or rather, for the both of them. He wanted to marry her, but of course she wouldn't have any idea of it at all, being the clueless klutz she was whenever relationships were concerned. They had only been together for a short period of time, but she felt that whatever they had was genuine, well as genuine as she thought it could be, having no experience in this but her feelings and assumptions. He seemed sincere and genuine enough.

She felt him approach from behind, as he took her right hand in his. Claudia felt slightly surprised at the gesture, but she did nothing, her hand remaining interlocked with his. She looked up at him, and saw him smiling at her. She gave him a warm one back in return, her green eyes twinkling in the fire light. She didn't have any idea what he could possibly be thinking about, but maybe he couldn't either. She was just simply returning a smile to his own.

Holland felt the soft flesh of her hands against that of his own. He was incredibly happy, and as she smiled back at him he didn’t know what to do. “Should I tell her now? Should I tell her later or what should I do? I don’t like keeping secrets from her, but what will she say when I tell her that? Holland concluded his thought quickly as he heard her speak and ask a simple question. The moment he heard “So about us” he wanted to run for the hills because he feared that she would say something he didn’t want to hear. Yet he let out a sigh of relief as his heart skipped a beat the moment she continued with that question. “About us.. our future.. how do you see us? As for me I don’t really have any particular idea set into stone. All I know is I don’t wish to have children yet, not until I am ready. When that will be I do not know yet.” She spoke and asked the question.

Holland fell silent for a moment as he attempted to think of a way to respond to her question. He wanted to tell her that he wanted to marry her, and be with her until the day that he died. Holland knew that if he told her that he would probably get a bad result from what she would reply with. Although he didn’t want to tell her he had to because he didn’t want to keep secrets from her. Holland mustered the courage to speak in reply to her and he wanted her to hear every single word of what he had to say.

“Claudia blackwood… You know that I love you. I love you with all of my heart, and I think that I should tell you something. I have a confession to make; I’ve been planning for a long time. I want to marry you, and I want to be your husband. We won’t ever need to be in a rush to have children. Right now if you feel like you aren’t ready then I will agree with you and support that one hundred percent. At the end of spring though? Please do know that I will be proposing to you, and no matter what you say I will be brave and courageous. I want to be with you until the day that my heart no longer beats, until the day that I am a dead man. “

Holland spoke in reply to her question but hadn’t quite yet finished.

“I see us being together for a life time, and if I am wrong then please tell me now. I believe that you and I will do great things together in the future. I hope that things between us continue to go well. I just really want us to work out and no matter what I have to do to ensure that? I will do what must be done to keep us together.”

He concluded his short speech.

Holland knew that he had already likely overwhelmed her, and he felt his heart as it skipped beats. Holland began to feel dazed and confused had he really just spoken his mind like that? Fear hammered away at the back of his mind and he knew very well that he didn’t want to be rejected or pushed away. Those were his greatest fears, and although he knew he said it he began to regret it. Yet, words cannot be taken back once they are spoken and he wouldn’t bother to try acting discouraged now because he’d already said it. Holland realized that when he said it he felt absolutely relieved and knew he no longer had to hold back how he truly felt about her.

Holland smiled, and immediately tilted his head. He leaned inward and kissed Claudia upon the neck gently. After he’d spoken he felt so elated about the fact that he could muster the courage to speak openly. Holland was a philosophical man, and he knew that what his heart desired for the moment was her. He wanted to make her happy and he would try his best to do so.

Her question to him was met with chimes of silence. She wondered what was on his mind, and if the battle of thoughts in his mind has anything to do with what she had just said. She could see that he felt conflicted somehow, but she was puzzled about what the cause could be. Was it about the question she posed about them, or was it something else entirely? She could feel him having an internal debate and hesitating on whether to ask her something or not, but she did not wish to probe or push him. If he wanted to tell her, he would. There was no need to push. He then finally spoke.

“Claudia Blackwood… You know that I love you. I love you with all of my heart, and I think that I should tell you something. I have a confession to make; I've been planning for a long time. I want to marry you, and I want to be your husband. We won’t ever need to be in a rush to have children. Right now if you feel like you aren't ready then I will agree with you and support that one hundred percent.

At the end of spring though? Please do know that I will be proposing to you, and no matter what you say I will be brave and courageous. I want to be with you until the day that my heart no longer beats, until the day that I am a dead man."

It was quite a long speech, and Claudia was left speechless for a period of time, before she could even process what was going on right now. Holland had dropped quite a mountain on her. Even though she was expecting an answer from him, and gods know she should have expected something like this already, but she was slightly taken aback by his speech. His eyes were full of conviction and she could tell that he was dead serious, and this was no prank. He wasn't the type to pull pranks anyway. He had informed her that he would be asking for her hand in marriage at the end of the season. He wanted to be with her forever, until the day he died. At least he didn't mind having no children yet until she was ready. But Holland wasn't quite done yet adding to her shock, more surprises were on the way it seemed.

“I see us being together for a life time, and if I am wrong then please tell me now. I believe that you and I will do great things together in the future. I hope that things between us continue to go well. I just really want us to work out and no matter what I have to do to ensure that? I will do what must be done to keep us together.”

To this she wholeheartedly agreed. She too wished that things would indeed work out well between them. She could see herself being together with him for a very long time. He was the first man other than her father to treat her this nicely. He had said all kinds of lovely things to her, and always told her how much he loved her. She placed her other palm on top of his, gently caressing it. "I would like you to be nicer to others as well. Please don't just think of beating up trying to kill everyone you meet." She put on her best imitation of puppy eyes as she pleaded "Please try your best, for me."

She waited for several chimes more, anticipating more from him, but that was the last of it as no more arrived. He had concluded his rather heavy speech. She frankly felt quite overwhelmed by the entirety of it all. She loved him, she really did. But she didn't quite know what to say to him. Was she ready to move on to the next step?

She was broken from her reverie as she suddenly felt the softness of Holland's lips on her neck as he kissed her. She let out a soft gasp, but did nothing else, except for gradually increasing redness of her visage. Apparently, she decided she was indeed ready to take a step forwards in their relationship. She then gazed at him, her twin green orbs staring into his brown ones, with the firelight reflected in their eyes.

"I love you very much as well, Holland. No one has ever treated me as you have. To this day, I still have no idea why you chose me in the first place. But I believe I am ready to take the next step in our relationship. Chances like this don't come by too often, and I believe you may be the one." Finishing all she had to say, Claudia placed a warm kiss on his lips, feeling the brief softness of his own before withdrawing to give him an equally warm hug, wrapping her arms around him. She then clung onto his arm, grinning in delight.
