24th of Spring

Thaloyss had been working the tables for roughly a bell now. So far there had only been one brawl, and it had started raining. Not the gentle kind of rain, no. This was a storm, and she could hear the wind howling and throwing itself against the city's structures. She was grateful that she'd gotten in the tavern in time, unlike the unlucky ones who came in sopping wet and terribly unhappy. She hated them with a passion; disrespectful pieces of shyke they were, especially towards her -- though her height threw them off for a few moments.
Nevertheless, the Dhani maintained her friendly facade. She had to, if she wanted them to continue buying drinks. She was feeling a tad hungry, though... Eating patrons was reserved for her time off work, since devouring someone in the middle of the tavern was considered rude. Merv would probably be grumpy, too.
She picked her way through the maze of tables and bodies draped over chairs, making her way back to the bar to pick up another couple of drinks for some particularly rowdy customers. The lewd comments they made were answered with a flirty smile and a wink.
Absolutely disgusting, she hissed mentally. They were nothing but sacks of meat, preheated to the perfect temperature for eating. Though she couldn't smell as well as she could in her Dhani shape or her snake shape, the mere thought of the aroma of their blood made her mouth water.
Being in the center of the city in the middle of a storm, Thaloyss had become accustomed to people coming in every few chimes. She couldn't help the urge to look up each time the door swung open and another body entered the tavern to get warm, assigning them a tastiness factor. The muscular ones proved to be the most trouble, what with their struggling and all in the middle of her trying to eat them. A quick shift into Dhani form took care of that; incredibly rude, they were. Trying to get away in the middle of a meal? Tch.
The barmaid was partially grateful she had a lesser sense of smell in human form, though. The tavern didn't carry the most pleasant of scents. Not to mention that the stench came from those she was serving, who also happened to try to slide their nasty little hands up the slits in her skirt. A flash of the kopis at her side deterred them from making further attempts. It was all for show, of course. She could shift and crush them with ease, so long as they held relatively still.
She glanced up as the door opened again, then slipped to the bar for more drinks. At this rate they might as well have hired another barmaid; it was pretty busy even before the rain. Still, it was her job to serve those who entered. After a moment of pondering, Thaloyss set the drinks down and wove her way across the room towards the newcomer, a smile lighting up her face. "Hi, can I help you?" she asked, looking down at him.
