Otaia Rynlair

APPEARANCE

HUMAN

Otaia's hair is a chestnut brown, and wavy. She typically keeps it up, and away from her face, for the purposes of convenience and functionality. Her teeth are a bit sharpened, caused by her Kelvic blood, though it isn't noticeable unless one is looking for it, or has a keen, knowledgeable eye. Her eyes can be both gentle and fierce, depending on the given situation. They are the most animalistic feature of the Kelvic's human form, dark, round, and racoon-like.

Residing in a violent, chaotic place such as Sunberth, Otaia has been toughened in both mind and body. Her hands, though slim, are calloused, and her body, though skinny, is noticeably strong. All in all, she doesn't stand out. And for her, this is preferable, being that in a city such a Sunberth, being noticed usually isn't a good thing. In her human form, Otaia may seem quite uncomfortable, being much happier as an animal.

KELVIC

As a Raccoon, Otaia looks like any other, if not a bit smaller than average, with brownish-grey fur, and dark, round eyes. The signature "mask" of such a creature rests on her face, two dark rings around Otaia's eyes. Her tail is poofy, and has dark bands around it. The Kelvic's feet, in animal form, function almost as well as her hands in her human form. Size-wise, Otaia is average, with a semi-skinny build. In this form, also, she is relatively strong.

PERSONALITY

Otaia is quiet, and may come across as shy, though this isn't the case. Her lifestyle causes her to be distrustful of those around her, excepting a select few. Despite this, the Kelvic need for a bondmate is a powerful urge in her too.

As a thief, Otaia often stays unnoticed. As a result, this has become a habit, even when she's not stealing. To avert unwanted attention, Otaia is often respectful so as not to anger others. This tends to backfire, though, because Sunberthians aren't known to be respectful, or polite, in the slightest.(OOC: I intend to develop her personality more as I thread with her.)

HOUSING

HISTORY

IN THE PAST

History

Born in Syliras, Otaia lived the first few seasons of her life as an only child in a relatively strict and protective household. It was a childish desperation for freedom that drove the Kelvic to flee her home the moment she was old enough to sustain herself. Residing in such a rule-driven household, a law-free place like Sunberth seemed like paradise, from a distance.

When she was a few seasons old, Otaia left her home without regret, intending to find a way to scrape by on the gang-run streets of Sunberth.

The ship she spent weeks on was quite uncomfortable, and the girl spent most of her days as a raccoon, so as not to feel as cramped.

Arriving weeks later, the raccoon soon realized just how lawless Sunberth truly was. She quickly learned how to get by, with actions that would be frowned upon anywhere else The Kelvic taught herself the art of theft, whether it's stealing food, or the Mizas to buy her own food. In this manner, Otaia survived Sunberth's dangerous streets.

Weeks after arriving in her new home, the Raccoon grew homesick, beginning to miss her family. Despite this, she's never considered returning to Syliras as an option.

Used as little more than a small reminder of the first year of Otaia's life, the Kelvic keeps a small piece of paper in her pocket, everywhere she goes. It is her one most prized possession, not because of what it is, but because of the memories it holds.

On the small, folded up paper, are the names of Otaia's family, and a statement said by each of them underneath. On the very bottom of the page is written, "Never Forget, They Love You."

This paper is a comfort for Otaia, and she will often reach for it, in time of need. Merely having it in her hand brings the raccoon comfort, and as a result, it is very worn down.
