The glimmer disappeared the moment a delicate swoosh of midnight black hair swooped by. It took a few moments after this for the thief to realise what had just happened. The pendant had gone. Disappearing the moment the figure had moved past it. The merchant's prey had stolen the bait whilst the trap had been triggered. They had used his struggling as a distraction? Clever, if irritating. Shocked and impressed, the thief mind pondered a moment before realising this was the perfect distraction. Welling up his courage and nerve, Eleazar turned his attention to the stall owner.
“Oi Hag! Ay wonder what 'appened to 'at pendant!”His voice was loud and provocative, mouth grinning as he waited from something in the iron grip holding him to waiver. The merchant gave the thief a dismissive gaze, eyes briefly glancing over the empty spot before she took a double take. Full on smirking now as the merchant began yelling at her hired muscle, thief relaxed against the man's hold. Sure enough, the man stopped dragging him backwards and focused his attention towards his boss' outrage. Taking the opportunity, Eleazar slammed his heel as hard as he could into the fragile toes of his captor and throwing his head backward as he did. A howl echoed around his ears followed by an angry growl as the man's nose met the back of the thief's head.
Feeling the grip on him slip, Eleazar sprung forward, balls of his feet digging into the ground as he got an arm free. A beefy hand, however, refused to relinquish his left arm, slipping down it to crush his wrist. Spun out from the motion, the brunette continued to pull against the brute in vain. The vagik didn't budge in the slightest. Still trying to tug away, panic filled him when the man other hand left his bruised nose. Oh shyke. Out of options, Eleazar lunged forward, sinking his teeth into the poor man's fleshy hand. Tightening his jaw as hard as he could, fingers quickly uncurled from his wrist when the taste of blood entered his mouth. Spitting out the appendage, the thief quickly backed off, turned and took off as fast as he could.
“You little shyke!”Swearing again, the unfortunate guard was once more being yelled at by his boss. Making use of the commotion, Eleazar weaved through the crowd, craning his neck to see through the flow of people. Damn it. Where had that mystery thief gotten to? Hopping back and forth between bodies, a multiple blips of black haired individuals appeared in the crowd. Great, now which one had his pendant? Eliminating the ones that were obvious too unique or physically odd to count, his search was whittled down to it's last two candidates. Heading toward the closest one, he could just make out the fact she was holding something. Peering over the crowd on his toes, he tried to see what it was, bumping to those around him as he did. The pendant maybe?
The thief didn't get to check as a violent shove sent him sprawling to the ground. Grunting and wiping the dirt of his face, a shout from not far enough away sent him running. Turns out the guard was coming after him again. Brilliant. Barging through the crowd as best he could, Eleazar tried in vain to reach the dark haired female much to the distress of those in his way. Eventually elbowing his way past a bald man, whilst in the middle distance the guard shouldered a woman buying eggs out the way. The thief reached out and tried to grab the woman's shoulder before she could walk any further away.
