Just remember that travelling does take some cost and preparation. Travelling on such a large trade ship will be significantly easier, since you will probably get a small room or a bunk in a room with other people during your stay. Still, the price must be taken into account. The Mischief will take 105 days, including travel and stops, to reach Lhavit. Since the fare is 1 gm/day and another 1 sm/day for luggage, you would be paying 115 gm and 5 sm. Also The Mischief does not trade in Kina, so you will have to trade your coins for Mizas at the Cosmos Center.

Hello every one!

I was curious, does anyone know how one goes about 'renting' an Okomo. Renting seems the wrong word for such a majestic and well cared for animal... but all the same, how do you get one to carry you down a peak? How much does it cost?

Can you buy your own personal Okomo as you might buy a horse in a flatter city?

Are Okomo intelligent? Can you ask one to carry you where you would like to go? How quickly do Okomo travel?

From a player new to the city to those of you who have been here more than a season, how do you all figure Okomo into travel?

Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions or even further questions about travel by Okomo!

You can't buy them. The only PCs that can own them are the Shinya unless a recent moderator has changed that. You can ride them up and down the peaks from the main gate, but those are a specific type and Okomo handlers handle them. Basically your riding a pack string up and down along with trade goods etc. I'm not sure if there is a cost associated with it. You can in fact walk if you need too.

I read somewhere you can actually persuade an Okomo to help you with moving some stuff/ pulling a cart if you bribe them with food. Treats. Like apples or so.

And quite right, one doesn't buy or actually rent a sacred animal. You ask them for help, politely, with food. I mean, they're sacred. Buying one would be a huge offense. I believe some people would think you're making a mockery of their culture and all that. As for the Shinya, I thought they bonded with the Okomo. One of the Okomo chose them and not the other way around. I might be wrong though.
