Appearance
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
Elann physically boasts of bright ocean colored eyes; oval-shaped and slightly slanted, much like many of the women of the Benshira. In fact, there is very little unique about her that stands out apart from the other women. Just like every other person in her specific tribe, upon her head lies wavy, messy strands of chestnut hair. When it is fresh cut, it is about the length of a bob, yet grows ridiculously fast. When working, her hair is tied back with a bandanna of sorts to keep it out of her face. Her tribe is different from most Benshiran women who keep their hair long and tied, distinguishing them as belonging specifically to the tribe of her father Shlomet. Each midday of her youth, her hair has been washed in henna to cool her body temperature and moisturize, making it silken and smooth.
Despite the drab, similar features each person in her tribe boasts of, Elan does have some unique qualities. Milky, creamy smooth, single-toned skin covers Elann from head to toe with a soft shade hinting of the Benshira tanned brown. While many women of her tribe were burnt from the suns rays, her work had kept her inside most of her days, and for that reason she is more fair-skinned than most. Her direct lineage also is very light skinned for the people of Yahal. She stands worn-down, yet is far from it, reaching no taller or shorter than her mother, who was the tallest in her family at the height of 5'5". Out of the many races of the world, the Benshiran people weren't impressive when it came to stature.
Her most stunning feature of all from the other women of the tribe, is the radiance of her smile. Like one who has followed mirage after mirage in the desert, near-death, only to after so long to finally find an oasis, so is seeing the light and beauty of Elann when she smiles. Apart from being present in her tribe, Elann can be seen as an exotic beauty, something different completely from the other nations of the world. The shimmer of her eyes, the beautiful hues of her skin, and the power in her smile can set her as a testament of unique beauty in the world.
Clothing
On most days Elann will wear a tunic of simple make, wool, shin length with nothing revealing, and she has the calm, almost sleepy, indifferent appearance of an old maid when working. The only bit of color about her, hinting to the mystery of her, is a tie bound about her waist that holds everything closed. How there is such beauty behind such a drab appearance only Yahal knows. For the most part unkempt, unpolished, lacking any glam are the key descriptors-- "common" some would say, "lowly" others would say. That is Elann.
Since coming to Syliras and venturing out with the help of those she loves and cares about, Elann has begun to sample a bit of the culture. In the summer she had been seen wearing some dresses; in fall, wearing some longer sleeved clothing and thicker dresses; and in winter, she has been bundled up as much as anyone from a desert would likely be after seeing snow and experiencing intense cold for the first time in their life.

History
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
Originally hailing from Eyktol and raised in tents near Yahebah, she comes from a line of those worthy to serve in the temple, the Sons of Rapa, and while she could not serve like the Sons, she did her part to support them with fine linens and rugs. From a young age she represented a quality and penchant for worship, love, and faith toward Yahal. He in turn blessed her with the gift of prophecy though perhaps it was that he foresaw her path and love for him. Though unbeknownst to her, she subtly always heard his voice in her heart, leading her to come closer and closer to him. When reaching 19 years of age word came down from Yahal to her in the form of a dream. It showed how the some of the people had turned from him in his temple and what he desired for her to say. Yet upon saying these things valiantly to the disobedient temple priests, she was nearly killed by them; barely escaping with her life. Fearing repercussions, her father sent her to the far north to live with a family friend in Syliras. Having arrived by boat, her family friend was nowhere to be found. In her new domain, in the midst of foreigners, some not loyal to Yahal and far from her family, only time would tell what would come of her.
Since the Summer of 515AV and her arrival, she has made friendship with a man named Noah and a few other acquaintances. Progress was slow, but eventually she began work at a job she could be proud of, and in time was able to support herself. In Fall, she managed to find her father's friend, the man she was intending to meet in Syliras, and was able to secretly give word to her father about her whereabouts and that she was safe. In response, he revealed that the after effects of the remaining members of the priests she accused sought harder for her. The situation had become more volatile, and her father was forced to effectively disown Elann permanently for her sake. He could not bear to have her return to her death, nor contact him any further and bring death upon his tribe. His last letter wished her well, and since receiving the letter of separation, stating she was no longer his child and was free to live life as she willed in the sight of Yahal, she has been struggling to find her place in the world.

Character Concept/Personality
--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------
Elann was fresh "off the boat" to say, literally and figuratively. She was a newcomer to the town of Syliras in the season of Summer 515AV and could not have had fresher eyes. Yet they even in that instance, they boasted of a wisdom beyond that of a normal 19 year old woman from tribal lands. Her thoughts even now are generally innocent, leaning on trying to understand the difference between good and evil, but she is not afraid to express what she is feeling at the moment.
Elann is and has always been a balancing act between her utter righteousness and the emotions that she has had to deal with in every day of her life. The conflict that is life is demonstrated through her through seeing her various temptations, struggles, and sorrow. The lens in which she sees them can be different from many, and but Elann has a tough spirit, emboldened by her limited understanding in Yahal and the world she is in. While she could be utterly dashed upon the rocks by life, she will always do her best, hoping she forges through it.
Now she has a friend, Noah, who has helped her through just about as many scrapes as she has helped him. The two have recently become bonded, adding a whole new dynamic to their already tense familial relationship. New thoughts, emotions, and feelings have begun to take hold, and in the midst of it all these new sensations, Elann must find out who she is as an individual.
