[Syliras Location] Sensual Scents

Located next to Wax Illuminations, which is indeed ran by the proprietors brother, Sensual Scents occupies a prominent place on one of the oldest streets in Syliras - Orchid Lane. In close proximity to the flower stand, the perfumery has set up shop and does a somewhat surprisingly thriving business. Known to supply leadership with their scents throughout Mizahar, Sensual Scents is also a big buyer of rare herbs and spices that are infused with exotic scents. Many traders pass through the double glass doors, ordering bulk for when their ships dock next or picking up orders placed on previous trips through Syliras. The shop itself is well laid-out. It's profusion of unique scent bottles are supplied by the glassblower of Inner Fire Glass, which also creates some of its custom incense burners and aromatizers. Everyone in Syliras works together, so as much as Sensual Scents uses Inner Fire, the Candlermaker next door uses Sensual Scents' products to infuse the wax with some of its more famous scents.

The outer display shop houses a multitude of plain and colorful bottles, testers, and glassware all related to the products sold here. The display portion of Sensual Scents spills into a waiting area that is located between the sales floor and the workshop. A lovely selection of rare rugs and low couches allow traders to relax while they barter with the owner over what they wish to order for their next runs through the area.

The back third of the shop is filled with raw ingredients in various stages of being processed, glassware related to distilling the scents, and numerous workbenches. A thick plush hanging rug covers the back workroom and excludes it from the view of the waiting area and sales floor.

32nd of Winter, 510 AV

At first glance under Syna, Dlight wouldn't have appeared to be someone interested in perfumes or incense. Soap was debatable, as although he bathed, his fur was always slightly matted to him by the end of the day even in Winter. If it had been in his past life, Dlight may not have cared as much about hygiene, but he felt he had to properly protect and present the form that Leth gave him out of respect for his God.

His eyes glanced between the different colored bottles of perfume before he found a list of scents placed on one of the displays. Dlight skipped by the flowery and fruity scents without a second thought, not particularly interested in smelling like food or, well, a girl. A quarter of the names he didn't even recognize, however rain, forest, and ocean mist stood out to him.

Dlight looked around once again, seeing the shopkeeper helping another customer in the comfortable looking waiting area that was further back and deciding to continue to browse until he wasn't busy. He finally decided on a whim to buy midnight rose scented soap, not ashamed to admit that it was partially because of the name and, well, at least it smelled a bit more masculine than sweet pea or sunflower. Dlight definitely wanted something that would remind him of the ocean, of both the coast of Charbosi and the coast of Abura. With that in mind, he decided on ocean mist perfume.

"Hello Sir!" Came a sudden cheery greeting, making Dlight look up in surprise towards the source. It was the male shopkeeper, a pale human with little hair and intense eyes. "Please excuse me for taking so long to get to you, have you found anything you like?"

"Well I decided on 2 midnight rose bars of soap and a 10 oz bottle of ocean mist perfume," He said bluntly, not continuing to speak for a short moment and leaving a small silence. "I also want an incense burner and 10 sticks of forest incense." The man seemed to be internally calculating the total price, remaining silent for a short while before heading away from him towards the waiting area, telling him to wait there.

Dlight followed him and sat down on the couch, leaning against it and closing his eyes. "That's 4 silver miza's for the soap, 1 gold miza for the perfume, 10 silver miza for the incense burner and 5 copper miza for the incense." He opened his eyes at the shopkeeper's words, a twisted expression on his face. The Zith had never been one for arithmetic, despite having sold his crafts before. "1 gold miza, 14 silver miza, and 5 copper miza total."

Dlight first retrieved the 1 gm, playing with the gold coin and staring at the collection of items the owner had gathered in front of him while he calculated in his head. He pulled out another gold coin, then 5 silver ones and handed them to the man that was patiently waiting. That was 2 gm and 5 sm he'd given him, and after looking them over in a glance, the shopkeeper of Sensual Scents returned him 5 silver miza.

Not worrying about miza spent, Dlight gave the owner his thanks and put the items he'd purchased carefully inside his worn backpack. He left the store in the direction of the Traveler's Row, where he'd drop off the incense and then head for the baths.

Late Afternoon

　　Traversing through the streets of Syliras and away from the putrid smells of the leather workshop, "All Things Leather" the young Svefra found his nose picking up a strange mixture of scents; sweet apples, cinamin, flower and wood all alluring and tantalizing to the senses. After the stifling rank smells of the leather business, Kai found his feet wandering towards the more pleasant aromas of the streets of Syliras.
　　Rounding a corner onto Orchid Lane, Kai was surprised to see that this street appeared somewhat more historic looking than the newer paved streets he had been pounding most of the day. Passing by the beauty of a flower stand, the young Svefra politely waving away the attendant's attempt to lure in his custom and proceeded to the origin of the pleasant and mouth watering scents.
　　Despite the olden, historical nature of Orchid Lane, the perfume shop in which Kai found himself standing in front of appeared quite modern with a set of double glass doors. The name given to the sweet smelling shop was perhaps a perfect fit for the smells filling the young Svefra's nostrils as he would indeed name them "Sensual Scents". Upon entering through one of the glass doors, his nostrils were overpowered with the strong mixture of aromas all clashing and vying for prominence upon the air. The thickness of the many aromas caused the young Sevfra to cough slightly as his lungs struggled to philter oxygen from the scented air.
　　Usually not one for caring what he smelt like, working on the salty sea, perfumes never normally ever worked long enough for someone to notice. Yet moving into a city, Kai had begun to notice that almost everyone he had come into contact with had a sickly sweet smell about them. Perhaps to fit in he would consider buying a vial, maybe he would just take a look around and see if anything took his fancy. He was looking to get into the business of becoming a local labourer so perhaps a perfume scent to mask the odor of sweat, might be a good idea.
　　Wandering around the sales floor, trying the different testers on a different finger each time, mostly scrunching his nose at some of the more sickly scents, the young Svefra discovered he knew nothing about perfume and was quite out of his depth. Approaching the sales counter Kai smiled and asked for some help from the sales woman. After a few trial and errors Kai was surprised to find that he rather liked the smell of the cedar perfume. As he followed the sales woman up to the counter to purchase a small 5oz bottle, Kai realised that some of the aromas were quite soothing.
　　After a stressful day of being lost and walking for a good few bells, it was odd that Kai noticed himself feeling more relaxed since entering Sensual Scents. He then enquired as he approached the counter if there were candles or incense sticks that promoted a calming effect. After a moment of pondering the sales woman reached down perfume of wood rose, opening the lid to allow Kai a deep wiff. Instantly Kai felt its' effects, his shoulders relaxed and he sighed, nodding enthusiastically he asked for the wood rose with an aromatizer to be thrown into his bundle. Thanking the lady for her help, Kai slipped the agreed mizas into her palm before making his way back onto Orchid Lane, excited to give his new perfume and aromatizer a try.
