Morphing Questions

Postby Caesarion on August 1st, 2015, 1:09 am

Hey guys! In case anyone knows an answer to these questions, I got curious and felt I'd ask a few things while I was researching the magic.

1. At Master morphing you can take innate abilities from your models. If you were to discover the innate abilities of any model, could you realistically take any ability, even if it's one provided by a God?

For example, could a Master Morpher add a Druvin to their list of models, and take their ability to see fear and weakness, near invulnerability, agelessness and extended strength? Could they add a Desolate One to their model list, similarly?

It also says that you cannot take learned abilities, but what about natural or biological ones? If I take an RPC model, could I use their racial functions (Konti Gifts, Ethaefal Aging)?

2. Does auristics aid on the process of gaining models? Realistically, by looking at one's aura, you can ascertain a lot of information. Can you use this to quickly gain new models? Or does it require tedious research into their structure, personality, functions, etc, without exception?

3. It says master Morphers are constantly changing (assuming their personality contorts this way) and maintaining different forms. How is this possible without them constantly overgiving and eventually dying?

4. It says it's 'difficult' to use morphing to heal - does that mean it's actually possible, still, at expert or master? Could you actually Morph your body to close wounds? How severe before it's too much?

5. Do innate abilities include curses or blessings? For example, if I were to morph into someone who is cursed with rapid physical degradation (by Chaon for example), would their model suffer this as well? On that subject, can you choose which abilities you take from a model and which you leave out? Considering you can mix-and-match your models at master, I assume yes, but just wanna make sure!

Thank you if anyone knows the answer to even one of these! I know they're obscure questions, lol

Morphing Questions

I saw this a while back but I forgot then to post a reply to it. Let me see if I can help a bit.

1. You can only aquire inate abilities that the model has naturally, like seeing in the dark for cats or snake venome (or more interesting ones like spitting acid like some of the weird stuff on Sahova). Anything that is divine in origin cannot be aquired via morphing because you have only mortal djed to work with. Think of it this way. Anything that can be explaind in a biological way can be copied via master morphing (venom, acid spitting, camaflouge, etc), and to an extent you can take on some of the supernatural properties of your models IF these models have these abilities naturally (for instance if you aquire a model that can levetate such as an Irylid you could copy that ability as well). You cannot copy abilities that are given via alterations or enchantments, or through Divine marks like gnosis. Morphing changes your djed to mimic the djed of another being. Anything that is naturally coded in that models djed you can aquire for yourself. HOwever master morphing is a broad spectrum, and creativity is welcomed so feel free to question and experiment for yourself.

2. Auristic's does not hurt, and could help speed up the process of gaining the model as you can look at the aura and djed directly to see how it works. YOu still need to do your meticulous research though. Studying, dissecting, etc, in order to create an accurate model.

3. At master morphing you only expend djed when you change shapes, so you can change yourself and stay at that shape for as long as you like. Don't take that line too literally. They change a lot and often, multiple times a day, whenever it suits them. That doesn't mean they keep shifting their feet and arms as they walk lol. Masters lose a sense of themselves due to the natural progression of the magic and overgiving. Masters usually don't even remember what they originally looked like, so they are not attatched to any one model. This makes them flighty, more prone to random shifts in appearance depending on their mood.

4. Yes and no. YOu can use morphing (hypotentically) to close a wound or constrict it to slow bleed and such, but you CANNOT instantly make your cuts close or flesh knit together. Morphing at best is a patch job to keep you from dying before you can get some real treatment. Morphing should never be used as a primary way of healing of first aid, because morphing DAMAGED tissue is beyond difficult.

5. No and see the answer to question one :)

I hope these help :)

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.
