The White Swan Inn is a peaceful location set near the Castle enjoying the flow of traffic to and from Stormhold. Considered one of the safest and finest lodgings in the city, The White Swan has about the best meals anywhere. Attached to it is its own bathhouse that serves its guests exclusively. Its kitchens are open to all sorts wanting to dine, though without a clean appearance, the waiters will often turn potential patrons away until they've cleaned themselves up. The main business the White Swan does is dining. It serves dinner to a wide assortment of people visiting and living within Syliras. Its often filled with Syliran Knights (without their armor) and requires their 'guests' to peacebond their weapons before they come in and enjoy sitting. The restaurant is set in a circular pattern, with a sunken round fireplace as the centerpiece of the room. Tables radiate on terraces out from the fireplace which is surrounded by a deep-seated couch where patrons can enjoy a drink while they are waiting for a table.

Each table is clothed in fine linen, and the walls surrounding the restaurant are graced with masterwork art depicting all manner of pleasant scenes. There is a roving band of musicians, mainly violinists, who add pleasant music to the dining experience. If someone is purchasing the banquet, they will be seated on the north side where a long table is often piled high with foodstuffs the patrons can wander and select from. The remainder of the diners are treated well, and waited on hand and foot by a seasoned staff.

Upstairs through the rooms available in the Inn. Each room is a suite with a sitting area and a separate bedroom area. They are all decorated differently, with a minimalistic taste though elegantly done. Guests will find fresh flowers in their rooms, often a snack tray, and a chilled bottle of wine. There is a stable out back where horses can be boarded and carriages stored. The White Swan Inn strives to bring its customers only satisfaction and pampering.

The owners, two independent ladies - Jazmin Collins and Tresa Mashila - have worked exceedingly hard to make sure the restaurant and inn shines. Both Jazmin and Tresa are Syliran Knight Widows who petitioned the leadership of the knighthood to see that they would be well taken care of. As is common for the Syliran Knights, the Grandmaster granted them coin to start their own business. They opted for an Inn, and ever since then they have been doing astonishingly well. They have repaid their grant from the Knighthood and often help other young widows start businesses within Syliras' protective arms. Jazmin runs the Inn portion while Tresa rules the kitchen. They have a whole host of waiters and waitresses working for them, as well as kitchen staff and cleaning personnel. Almost all their employees are children or widows of Syliran Knights.

Jacob Trevas is the stablemaster, a retired Syliran Knight who's gone completely blind. He enjoys the work and the attention the widows lavish on him. His only daughter, Samantha Trevas, is the chief cook under Tresa. The White Swan Inn is a great place to gain access to a specific Syliran Knight or get into contact with family members of one in particular. It's said that Jazmin tends to heavily discount her services too those affiliated with the Syliran Knights as well.

Re: [Syliras Location] The White Swan Inn

Season of Summer, Day 4, 509 AV

Having just arrived in Syliras following a long, exhausting journey from the Isurian Kingdom of Sultros in the Kalea region, Ialari was far past ready for some time spent in relaxation. She had grown quite tired of road-side inns, merchant caravans and the trading vessels of the Suvan Sea. All she wanted now was a soft bed to sleep in and some peaceful time to herself. The knight at the gate had suggested she seek out one of the finer inns of the city, The White Swan. The directions were more or less simple, travel down the main road and look for the inn near the castle; it would stand out from the rest of the nearby buildings. On her way to the inn, Ialari had to admit that for a human city, Syliras was pretty well built and fortified while keeping some amount of beauty in the architecture. It was no Sultros by any stretch of the imagination, but for humans, it was good.

She was amazed at the diversity in the people that she passed with a number of odd races mixed in. However, she was hot, tired and in no mood for crowds so Ialari made it a point to quicken her pace while following the directions she was given.

Her home of Sultros was large, divided into five different citadels spanning many miles. Underground tunnels connected each citadel to one another while technology not seen since before the Valterrian provided the Isur with efficiency and luxury. However, each citadel and each small city beneath it held a population of little more than a 1,000 individuals. Syliras itself was easily three times larger than the entirety of the Isurian Kingdom. The sheer scale of it was nearly too much for Ialari's exhausted mind to comprehend. Thankfully she neared the central castle and spotted the building identified via a sign as White Swan Inn.

With a heavy sigh, she made her way to and through the entrance. Once inside she looked around the main common area. It was comfortable looking and the smell of fine food brought a stir to her stomach. Though hungry, she was more tired than anything and tracked down the nearest person who looked like they could set her up with a room. Finding one of the woman who owned the establishment, Ialari quickly produced a handful of mizas and requested a room for several days; seven to be exact. She didn't bother haggling over price and provided the twenty mizas that the owner asked for. Thanking the woman in the closest thing to sincerity that Ialari could produce for a human stranger, she followed the woman upstairs and to the room. Along the way, Ialari was told of the breakfast and dinners as well as the bathhouse. She couldn't wait to partake in the bathhouse as soon as she woke up.

Once she was introduced to her room, Ialari thanked the owner once more before closing the door and heading straight for the bed in the adjoining room. Shrugging off her robes, she fell to the bed and was soon fast asleep.

The 50 of fall, 510 AV, Around eleven in the night.

The door opened, and the seemingly anorexic pale skinned male walked in the Tavern, his eyes scanning around the place as soon as he felt a source of light poking his eyes. He closed them for a moment, and then blinking rapidly, trying to get used on it. As soon as the light wasn't bothersome anymore, he walked forward, slowly, feeling a bit uncomfortable by this all. This Tavern looked like it was a place for gathering of those rich merchants who sometimes passed the woods. He sighed, as his ears heard something, that was actually quite pleasant. He looked to the side, noting musicants seated there and playing. How is he going to compete here anyways? The idea didn't sound so good anymore.

Well, anyways, he made his way to the counter, trying not to make any contact with the other guests, and once he got there, he placed the paper on the counter, and slightly poking it, trying to get someone's attention, so they would instruct him further. The paper had the name of the tavern written on it, how to get there, and who to ask for his audition here. He said absolutely nothing, peering behind to see if his companion managed to follow him.

Nidassasyae followed closely behind Seliarus, peering about her in fear and curiosity. She could hear music and saw that each table had a cloth over it. The young leopard couldn't see why they needed cloth on their tables, but humans were silly creatures. Regardless of their odd ways, the place looked beautiful, but Nidae didn't stop to look around more. Almost tripping over the Dhani man's heels, the Kelvic girl navigated around the various patrons of the inn.

She stifled a giggle as Seliarus began prodding the piece of paper. She had thought that once they arrived, they had no need of it. Apparently he was going to use it to show someone that he wanted to audition?

"Umm, excuse me?" she asked a passing waiter. "Who do we ask about auditioning for a job here?" Nidassasyae thought that perhaps talking to someone might help. After all, she and Seliarus had no idea what was going on here.

Seliarus and Nidae

The waiter frowned, apparently irritated for someone to be interrupting his duties. He simply scoffed and gestured towards a woman who was already approaching the duo, and vanished into the crowd.

"Yes, yes, I know they said there would only be four, but there's five now, so find another chair and handle it. Make it look nice, too. Hmph." The woman said to a staffer who seemed to be following at her heels. At her last words, he peeled away with a look of near panic on his face.

"Oh, hello there. Are you two lost? Well, the Rearing Stallion is right up the main thoroughfare, and... oh, what have we here?" She said, her eyes darting to the paper Seliarus had brought. "A musician? Excellent. What do you play? We had two of our musicians quit rather unexpectedly last week, it's really putting a strain on our staff. I have the pastry chef baking and playing a violin, imagine! Well, in any case, I do need a musician. Tell me about yourself. I'm Tresa Marshila, I run the kitchen here and organize the entertainment as well." She said, laughing as she spoke at some points. Apparently, this was a woman who ran her business hard, but wasn't heartless.

The Dhani turned to the woman, who called herself Tresa, and lightly forced a smile on his lips. More of a greeting than anything else. He listened to the woman talking, talking, talking, and wondered if she is going to finish anytime soon. But, she did seem nice, and Seliarus managed to calm down for a little more. Well, he reached into his west, and pulled out a decent long, wooden flute. On her question what did he play, he pointed at it, and nodded in return. Well, someone was missing, that's a first. Maybe he could get to play after all. At least for so long they get someone better than him. He shrugged lightly, and then looked back at the woman Tresa.

His glance traveled then to Nidae, now rather happy she decided to come with him. At least he wont be needed to talk, and he can act like he doesn't speak for a little more. That would at least not get him kicked out for being what he is.

Nidassasyae simply nodded her thanks. If Sel wanted to get a job here, she wasn't going to ruin his opportunity by glaring at the waiter.

The leopardess grinned as the lady drew closer, amused at the panicked expression on the other waiter's face. The lady talked too fast for Nidae to say that they weren't lost, but then the conversation righted itself. This was wonderful! Seliarus had even more of a chance now that some of the musicians had quite.

"Sorry ma'am. My friend Sel doesn't speak much, I act as his voice," the Kelvic girl said, noticing that Seliarus had glanced at her. It seemed that she would play translator for a bit more. "We're staying here for a couple weeks, and could use some coin for lodging and food. Sel has talent with the flute. We were hoping that he could find a job here?"

Seliarus and Nidae

"Mmmhmmm." Tresa said, almost to herself. It was a bit odd that the big fellow wouldn't speak. She began to question, but against her best judgement let it slide for the moment. They were horribly understaffed on the entertainment side, and though a bit odd, if he could play she could use him.

"Alright. Well, it would be preferable if you could stay longer than a couple of weeks. You know, running off will put me right back where I am right now. But..." She said, continuing with a sigh. "Okay, here's what i'll do. I've got a lot of things to take care of right this minute, so you'll have to come back in the morning. You don't have to be stunning, you'll just be background noise for the guests and i'm sure our other musicians can help you out as well. Be here tomorrow, a bell before opening. Talk to Vazquez, he's the fellow over there with violin."

Tresa gestured towards a lanky man, deeply focused on his music as he swayed throughout the tables.

"You come in, talk to him. He'll set you up. Like I said, if you can play at all, i'm sure you'll be fine. Now, uh... let's see. Payment, yes." Tresa said, rubbing her hands togethor as she thought, mentally recalling the wage scale for her employees. "Ah, yes. Musicians such as yourself earn Three gold mizas a night. So, show up tomorrow morning and you're hired. Sound good?"

But she didn't wait for a response. A loud crashing sound from the kitchen caused her eyes to bulge and she tore away from Nidae and Seliarus like a lightning bolt towards the commotion, leaving them standing awkwardly in the middle of the establishment.

Seliarus simply listened, and placed his flute back in it's usual spot, not wanting to interrupt her talking. This was all just too good to be true. Not even an audition, that must be a bit of good luck for the Dhani. And three Mizas per night, that's actually quite of a good deal. He'd soon have enough money to buy things he actually likes, if only he manages to keep the job. He slightly bowed down to the female who almost ran away after saying those words, in a way of thanking her, yet the Dhani had no idea she actually got that part. He made a mental note of remembering the name 'Vazquez' , so he wont stand out too much once he comes back.

He then turned to his Kelvic friend, who acted like his voice for the past day, slightly nodding at her and then pointing towards the door, as always, not saying a word. He decided to thank her once they get out, and with that thought, he silently shifted towards the door, and opened it, holding it open for Nidae to, if she felt like it, walked back outside. He hissed lightly, though, because the cold air could once again be felt waving along his body. As soon as he earns that much, he's going to buy something to keep him warm.

OOCThank you so much Ataraxia :D!

Nidassasyae stood close beside Seliarus, nodding as the woman told him when to come in the morning. Nidae wasn't sure if she was supposed to come with Sel, but she supposed that she could ask him about that once they had left the inn. The leopard almost giggled at the name 'Vazquez', but managed to just smile. It seemed like a silly name to her. When Sel's employer rushed away, Nidae managed to call out a "Thank you ma'am!" She didn't know if the woman heard her, but it was best to be polite to her anyways.

Nidassasyae returned Sel's nod, following him to the doorway. With a wink, she ducked under his arm and stepped outside the inn. She was so excited that he had gotten a job! He didn't even need to audition! Her ears caught the faint sound of his hiss, and the smile evaporated off her face. Her brow creased, she turned to her friend. "Are you alright?"
