AppearanceNothing to get too excited about.
With a relatively unimpressive height and a build that neither disappoints nor impresses, one would say that Cal, in all senses of the word, looks like an average Syliran. A strong jawline, stout sort of strength, and a smattering of scars, gained from a few unfortunate bar fights, denote his form. Keeping his brown hair cut in a short, pragmatic style, one can easily see the age in Cal's eyes that decries his young body. Though one could not tell it through his appearance, Cal is actually quite dexterous and carries himself with the quiet assurance of a man who knows how far to push his body before it breaks.
PersonalityAin't nothing wrong with preferring the simple things.
Calado Ceann is first and foremost a man of the people. With an easygoing air about him and a calm, quiet sort of confidence, Cal is the type of person to do good and ask for nothing in return. Within him lies a great potential for good, for leadership among his peers, but he doesn't want or need the heavy weight of authority. Loving the simpler sort of life he grew up with, Cal doesn't seek glory with his actions or even a greater future. He is perfectly content to simply share laughs, love, and life with his friends and family.
A young man with an old soul, Cal is always willing to lend an ear or offer advise to life's constant struggles. He enjoys helping people when he can, and loves the feeling one gets when working as a team. Though the world may fracture and fumble around his friends, Cal stands as an ever enduring rock of sanity. The port in the storm for any weary or wanton soul, all that he wants is the simple life of a simple man.
HistoryI miss those old days back at Mithryn.
Cal is the only child of two, loving, world traveling parents. His parents had had Cal rather late in their lives compared to the average Mizahar couple, his father pushing fifty while his mother climbing steadily towards forty. Luckily, it seemed the gods had blessed them with a successful childbirth, with neither Cal nor his mother passing in the effort.
Under the loving watch of his mother, an entertainer from Alvadas, and his father, a simple bartender at the Fool's Errand in Mithryn, Cal grew up in a relatively stable household. Though his mother occasionally slipped into bouts of depression from staying in the same place for too long, both Cal and his father ensured that her spirits would rise in short time. Cal had a natural talent for making people trust him, and in a strange, roundabout sort-of-way, he became his mother's confidant when she was rapt with sadness. From this, Cal learned the ever-important skill of listening, one which employed to great effect when it came time in the now-adolescent's life to start learning a trade.
Cal's father had a personal hand in the youth's tutelage, endeavoring to teach his son the ropes of bartending. While Cal enjoyed his work, he found much more enjoyment in interacting with people he met with through the profession than the actual trade itself. Even at a young age, Cal was an approachable teen, and he often found himself serving advice as well as alcohol during his training with his father.
As he edged closer and closer towards manhood, Cal found himself being drawn to city life. While the Mithryn Outpost had been his home for years and he enjoyed the simple life with his parents, those same parents were not getting any younger. His father was suffering under old-age's relentless pursuit, and his mother worried for both his health and their family's prosperity. Mithryn was a good place to raise a family, but not a great one to win wealth. That title belonged to the city which sprawled beyond the golden wheat fields Cal had grown to love. With his family's permission, Cal packed up his few belongings and set out to Syliras for a chance to improve his family's wealth.
