Urkut of the Tiger Eyed Appearance Race: Myrian Gender: Female Age: 22 Birthday: 3rd of Summer, 495 AV Birthplace: Taloba Appearance: Urkut is a powerful woman. Her muscles are well-shaped from her years serving the Myrian Army, and her naturally broad shoulders and long neck only serve to make her look more imposing. Urkut has long hair, which is lighter than most Myrians'. It stays up in a sort of mohawk most of the time, as long as it has not been messed up by her fights or hunting. Her eyes are a dark brown, typically lined with kohl on special occasions. Her ears are pierced, and she wears long, dangling earrings made from bone in them. The only other jewelry on her body is a ring in the shape of a tiger's eye that marks her marriage to Hudt. Urkut's body is painted with tattoos all over, her most prominent being the tiger eye in the middle of her forehead, marking her as a member of the Tiger Eyed. Other tattoos include the image of a small cat holding a lantern in its tail placed on her lower back, and a smattering of stylized tattoos covering her upper back and shoulder blades. Character Concept Urkut is a bold woman, as her appearance implies. She is often the first to draw her weapon and the first to use it. She is strong, and a natural with a blade. However, she is not exactly talented at planning and strategy. She tends to be overeager, and because of it, she rushes into risky situations. Urkut is not good with words. She has a hard time communicating her feelings, and cannot describe abstract concepts. This lack of social skills is among the reasons that her marriage is not one of love, but of necessity. Urkut does not want children so that she can continue to focus on her career. This is an issue, though, because her parents desperately wanted her to have children to pass her skills down to. Urkut recieved a lot of pressure from them, as she does still from Hudt, who also wants children. Oft compared to her twin sister, Urkut has always felt that she has something to prove to the world. She is very defensive if she thinks that someone is belittling her, and is fiercely independent. As soon as she recieved her mark from Myri, for her Coming of Age, Urkut moved to the barracks and began her training. She served as a Rekrut for 5 years, before she began to feel the pressures of Taloba weighing down on her. At her 21st birthday, Urkut packed her things and moved with her husband to Lhavit. After experiencing the pressure from her parents and her siblings, Urkut is happy to be in Lhavit, and is almost as enthusiastic in her training to become one of the guards to protect her new home as she was to becoming a warrior. Character History Urkut grew up in Taloba as the youngest of three. Her eldest sibling is a man named Ryk, and the middle sibling is a beautiful and graceful woman named Bjit. Though Ryk was successful in his own right as a tattoo artist, Bjit was the one who really set the bar for Urkut. Bjit is a fierce hunter, and brings in much food for the Clan. She was, and still is, seen as a high achiever whereas Urkut was often ignored in Bjit's shadow. As Urkut grew, she began to feel that she would never be as wonderful as her sister. She tried her best, but she was not good at the things Bjit was. Urkut was awful at communicating and had few friends. She was not an incredible hunter, and no matter how hard she tried, she simply could not find her own talent. Frustrated and determined, Urkut joined the military as soon as her Coming of Age ceremony allowed. She received the mark of Myri, and entered as a Rekrut. She trained hard, and competed with the others even where there was no competition. She is still bitter, and jealous of Bjit, and this fuels the fire of the warrior. It was not long after Urkut entered the army that Bjit married a man of the Cutthroat Shadows and became pregnant with a child of her own. This, of course, set another standard for Urkut. To satisfy the demands of her parents, Urkut married her now husband, Hudt. However, she still holds fast and refuses to mother children. Leaving Taloba behind, Urkut also left behind her family, and the pressures she felt to become a great warrior and to bear children. Finding Lhavit, Urkut also found magic abundantly in the city. She was drawn to the magic, but at the same time, still stuck in the rut of her old soldier's life. She is still focused heavily focused on her life of combat, but is slowly delving into magic as well. Relationships Name: Hudt of the Tiger Eyed Race: Myrian Age: 19 Profession: Bard Description: Hudt and Urkut married on the 79th of Winter, 512 AV. The two did not know each other prior to the wedding, and the marriage was one of necessity rather than love, with both quickly approaching the time in their lives when they needed to find a partner. The pair does get along despite this. Hudt is a bard, who plays his drums wherever it will bring coin. Name: Ryk of the Crimson Suns Race: Myrian Age: 31 Profession: Tattoo Artist Description: The eldest of Urkut's siblings, Ryk never had too much motivation. His only passion was art, which translated into creating tattoos. He married into the Crimson Suns just four years ago, and lives there now with his wife. Name: Bjit of the Tiger Eyed Race: Myrian Age: 29 Profession: Hunter Description: The proud hunter-woman of the Tiger Eyed, Bjit knows that she is casting a shadow over Urkut, and simply does not care. She is focused on carving out a good life for herself, regardless of what that costs anyone else. Name: Erl and Yik of the Tiger Eyed Race: Myrian Age: 54 Profession: Herbalist and Retired Soldier Description: Erl and Yik are Urkut's father and mother, respectively. Erl is not regarded as lowly as some of the men in the Clan, but of course, he is not revered either. He is a simple medicine man among a number of them in the Clan. Yik, on the other hand, was once a Tiger Rider, and was a proud soldier. She is fierce and stern, giving her children little freedom in their decisions.
