He could his sweat run cold as Arch answered his question. To be scared of something so small would look pathetic to anyone who has never fought a Pycon before, but if anyone has ever even met Arch on the battlefield, they would know that Garland's fear was not unfounded. "Is it too late to back out?" He said before giving a grin, hiding his nervousness. "Meh, it's not really my style."
With that he looked at Ball, he had seen this tiny fighter fight during the shield games during the spring... or was that summer? He would not take Ball lightly, if they were fighting for real, Garland would be nothing more than a pile of broken bones and flesh.
A shield would have been useful here, he doubt that Ball had seen his sneak attack against Arch before, he regretted not bringing some form of protection. No, this is good enough, if he had any armor, it would just slow him down, a shield would have been preferable, but he didn't have one, so now he has to fight with what he's got.
Ball is fast, but he could dodge a forward attack easily enough, though he might be left a little unbalance after it, but if he's lucky enough he can counter with a low swing.
He got ready and pushed the pain of his ankle away, he circled around Ball, keeping his eye on the littlest pycon, yet probably the strongest as well. "Come on..." He said quietly and held his sword in front of him, if Ball attacked him at his chest or higher, he will risk an attack while Ball would be rocketing towards him. If he missed, he might end up with a broken rib, or several, maybe internal bleeding if he was very unlucky, but if his attack succeeded, he could end up getting Ball stuck on his sword... or worse, though hopefully Pycons can regrow limbs, right? He wasn't so sure.
With that, he stayed on the defensive, with his planned in motion, he's ready to either lose right here right now, or take out the stronger of the two clay Pycons.
