She didn't seem to be lying. But perhaps she was just really good at it. Then again, perhaps Rey's paranoia was getting the better of him, although frankly, in a city like Alvadas, who could blame him for being cautious? Whichever it was, he was getting nothing from her.
"Friendly iss a bad word for Ahnatep." He agreed. In his human form, he had been sneered at, at least until he spoke and his accent revealed his true nature."Are you a-" he paused, trying to think of the word. "a drawer?" He tried, then made a face. That didn't sound right, but it got the message across. "Not ssure of the word." He added apologetically.
"I came to ssee." He told her in response to her question. "Wanted to leave the desert, see the world before I sstay at home." The thought of settling down, of mating into another nest and growing into just another hunter, and all without ever having left Eyktol had been nigh unbearable. This way, when he returned to the nest, he could be something more. Or if not, at least he would have traveled the world, seen all the sights his mother had told him stories of. Perhaps tell his own stories to his children, one day.
But he was getting ahead of himself. He had no intentions of returning just yet. Perhaps in a few more years.
"Although, it seemss I did not know the desert as well ass I thought I did." He grinned, gesturing to her, water swirling around his hand as he did so. "Did not think there wass anything east." If there was anything to the east, and she wasn't lying.
And speaking of which..
"Your home iss a island? Your kind can fly, and swim?" He glanced at her tail, a little dubiously. It seemed awfully clunky to swim with that sort of tail. "Never sseen a fissh like that."
