He puts his long and athletic frame to excellent use in the skills of hunting, horseback-riding, running, and even war, if it be the Ankal's will. His brown hair falls slightly past his shoulders. Wavy and often wild in appearance is his mane. When he was a boy, it wasn't such a strange sight to see that wild hair accompanied by twig and leaf as he was constantly active. Expressive eyes of blue and gray peer at the world around him. A wide range of emotions brim in them and just below, are prominent cheek bones that trail down to a strong jawline. Erikal's mouth is also quite handy with expressions as it is full and often wide in an infectious smile or grin. Windmarks : Inked across his upper back: Personality One word best describes Erikal's personality: Paradoxal. He is sometimes impetuous, entering the fray of a battle without a thought to the consequences. Or following his instincts despite common sense tugging contrarily. At other times though, he can be introspective and reflective. Much of the time he is rowdy, rambunctious, high-spirited and likely to be up to some manner of shenanigans. Moments are not unheard of when he is sober and serious as well. The complexity of his character leaves many of his friends and family members just a little off balance as to how to read the young warrior. Despite the contradictions, there are elements of his personality that remain constant. Chief of those is his undying loyalty to family and friends. He is not one to soon forget a slight if he feels it was directed at those he cares about. Revenge smoldering in his eyes, he will stop at nothing to redress the situation. History On the 34th of Fall, of 496 AV, he was born in the Sunspear Pavilion to a nomadic people known as the Drykas. His father (Telkar), younger brother to the serving Ankal was a very proud man that day. Erikal's mother, Venese, though also proud, was quite relieved that the process was over. They had a child to bring good fortune to their Pavilion. The years that followed went by quickly and happily. Young Erikal brought his family laughs with his wild-child nature. He also inevitably brought them headaches which led to Telkar's many scoldings and patient lessons. Though they tried, his parents were unlucky in the business of child-making after him. Still, Erikal made fast friends with the other children. Notably, next-in-line to rule their pavilion, Gavaken, the first son of the Ankal (his uncle), Haskel. Gavaken was of an age with Erikal and they competed with each other in the ways of the Drykas: hunting, fighting, foraging, and riding. Inevitably, as the years came and went, they aged to near-adulthood and that competition bled over to receiving the affections of women. They both doted on a young woman by the name of Jevasel. A very angry and jealous Gavaken found she and Erikal sharing an innocent kiss one day and that marked the end of their long friendship. With Gavaken cursing him and threatening to have him removed from the pavilion when the time came for him to receive the mantle of Ankal. Such were the times. Upon his 16th autumn, Erikal received his first windmark when he bonded to an unruly bay stallion called Korvas. It was a glorious day for both he, his family, and the clan. Erikal sharpened his skills and serves the Pavilion in the capacity of hunter and warrior. Both are in dire need in the always-perilous Sea of Grass.
