FALL 515, DAY 30, 7th BELL, Morning.

The dormitory, seemed cozy enough. Besides that there are other people sharing, why not just have simple bedrooms? Well, Adyel is a kid, but he still likes to know how things work. He wanted to draw that day. His plan of drawing was interrupted.

"Wake up," a boy screamed. "Do you want caretaker Lee, to find us all sleeping past wake time?" Adyel sat up in his bed, waking up slowly. He yawned a bit. He still doesn't know the layout of this building yet. And what does that other boy, mean by caretaker?

How do things run around here? "We have to make our beds and scrub the floor, and dust the walls and shine the door." The same boy announced. He put it into song form, on purpose? Maybe to have the other kids memorize there chores better.

"Not you new kid, caretaker Lee has too show you something." Adyel stood from his bed, tired. Wishing that he can go back to Riverfall. Where he grew up and where he was born. Maybe good father would come back, but just to see her dead?

The thought of his mother dead pained him. All those memories that he had of her made everything all the harder. "What does she have in mind?" Adyel yawned. "If you come to her office you can find out. But don't be so slow, go go go." The boy motioned Adyel to hurry up with his hands.

The young Kelvick put on his boots and hurried off to Lees office. Hoping that she won't scold him for doing something bad already, but what did Adyel do wrong? He has only been here for a day so far.

After a couple ticks flew by Adyel eventually made it to Lees office. He knocked on the door softly. Three times to be precise. "Come in," Thea said gently. Adyel turned the knob and pushed open the wooden door. The door creaked, "Come sit in one if the chairs. We have something to talk about." Adyel looked around her room.

The room is more of a bedroom than an office. But from her layout it's decent. The dark haired caretaker, is sitting in one of her chairs behind a long desk. Adyel smiled and nodded. He let his legs do the choosing to which seat he shall sitin that is in front of the wooden desk. "Did I do something wrong Ms. Lee?"

Her expression was happy, but from the information since he had been here was given to him. He was told the senior caretaker does not enjoy being around with children. Although she takes care of them in ways that can be imagined.

"Oh, no no no. I just want to know a bit about yourself. If that is ok with you my young Adyel?" Adyel felt a bit confused the way she said his name made the feelings about her feel more suspicious. "Ok, then. What would you like to know?"

"Hmm, well to be honest I haven't really done this with new kids in awhile. Let's start by. Your favorite interest?" She gave out a weak smile. Adyel was still confused, "What do you mean by interests?"

"Well, like what do you love to do?" Thea replied. She positioned a Quill on her desk that was out of lined. The ink was dry if course otherwise she would have cleaned it. "Oh, well I like to draw..." She nodded.

"Perfect, what else?" It feels like Thea is forcing herself to chat with Adyel as if she wants to get this conversation over with. "And run that is about it."

"Alright, well do you understand how things are run around here?" Adyel shook his head. "Ok, I'll explain it. To begin we normally want up around the 7th bell in the morning. Flying chores and cleaning the rest of the building like cleaning up recent messes that have been made previously and everything had been put away " Adyel nodded.

"After that is taken care of we have the kids, go to classes. Learning about the history of Mizahar and the other cities. Along with other subjects." Adyel felt a bit uncomfortable. He changed position. Trying to get that sense of comfortability back. But there should be no reason that he should be uncomfortable. Maybe it is because he is alone with the senior caretaker. And the fact that everybody doesn't enjoy having her company made him worried and frightened.

"We also have a music class if you are interested." Ferrin gathered up the schedule through his mind. Thinking of how his daily life would be, for about the next month or year. So cleaning, classes, lunch. Do we get any time away from the building? "Do you have any questions Adyel?" He thought for a moment. "Um, just out of curiosity. Do we get to have free time at all?" Hoping that he used the right words.

"Free time? Oh I think I know what you mean." She glared at Adyel, it felt like she can see right through him. Studying him with her mind, as if Adyel is some sort of interesting artifact. She added, "After your classes and everything else is done and one of us caretakers say that your cleared. That is when you eligible for the free time."

Adyel wished again that he would be with his mom. Didn't she say something about another family? Where that family had a kid named... Revali? Well Adyel hopes so. Maybe he can write them a letter. He just has to remember where they lived. And he'll be set.

The thought of having free time made him feel better. Another knock came from the door and Thea stood up. "Well, Adyel it's been a good chat. I'll send you back up to the dormitory got now. And I'll announce when classes start."

So Adyel stood up, and walked towards the door. When the door opened a lady came through. "Welcome," Thea told get guest. "Come sit." And after that Adyel closed the door and headed towards the staircase that was close to the dormitory for boys.

Well that chat was certainly interesting.

8th Bell, Morning.

Ticks slowly passes by, making this morning feel almost forever. Questions went through Adyels mind, wondering about his daily schedule for what? How long will he be like this? Adyel didn't want to put too much thought on this aspect. It makes him think about his mother.

His mother, who will soon pass, another life gone. If there is a God/ess for souls, Adyel hopes that he or she will take his mother to a safe haven. One place where she will never get sick again. Adyel remembered that he has a drawing that he would like to complete of his mom. It's almost done, just needs to be colored in and shaded. That's about it.

The young Kelvick, rushed upstairs to the dormitories. Concerned about what will happen next? Adyel misses family, if it was one flaw that Adyel would have. It would be family. If his family was in harm or needed help he will do whatever it will take to make them into a state of relief.

As he neared to the top of the stairs Adyel heard loud noises coming from upstairs, noises that seem like very loud and obnoxious chattering. 'Well, I guess Caretaker Lee allows talking while doing chores.' Adyel pushed open the door to the boys room quickly and did the same as closing it behind him. No one noticed.

The room looks more cleaner than Adyel can imagine. Everyone's beds are made properly and neatly. The floor is picked up from whatever things were layed across it. It almost looks as if half the boys are relaxing than cleaning. And the ones who are cleaning seem to be either chatting with others or mumbling to themselves and maybe catch some signing?

Adyel quickly rushed over to his bed and made it to look identical to all of the other boys' beds. It only took him around five ticks flat. It isn't hard to make a bed, but to the boys who seem to be relaxing isn't making things easier for everyone else and they look like they do not want to be doing things like making your bed.

He finished with putting his pillow on the side of the bed where the sheets have an open cover. Under his bed, his drawing kit. Still in position where it had been placed before he had gone to sleep is still there. Adyel was relieved of that fact and simply left it there to remain it's position until Adyel decides to use it again.

"Ok everyone, it like that we have done a great job with the cleaning and maintenance of the room. Someone go get one of the caretakers please." At that point the boys completed the rest of their responsibilities and relaxed. Waiting for one of the boys who volunteered to run and fetch obe of the caretakers. Adyel simply sat on his bed wishing that he can get some more rest.

What next?

[Farsons Home for Orphans] A New Beginning

9th Bell, Morning.

The young boy who volunteered to fetch a caretaker, stepped into the ever so calm room. Smiling as he brought in a familiar face that Adyel can reforms m recognize. It was Varsos! Adyel was relieved that it wasn't one of those caretakers that were really stricked and commanding. Adyel smiled at Varsos as the man strolled in alongside the young boy. Varsos smiled, but it wasn't just a smile too Adyel. It was more so one that referred to the cleaning of the room. Varsos smiled once again and spoke"Well, it seems to me that you all can go downstairs for breakfast. And then it is classes afterwards." All of the boys rushed downstairs, excited for a cooked meal and ready to chat with their friends.

Varsos still stood next to the door looking at Adyel in confusion. Something about Adyel made Varsos wonder about him."What's the matter young one? " Varsos asked as he walked to Adyels bed. Adyel looked up at Varsos his brown hair covering parts of his eyes. His facial expression reveals a sad face, one mixed with guilt and displeasure." I miss... I miss home..." Adyel replied quietly. Varsos just simply nodded and replied"Well my young Adyel. It isn't so bad here. I've been here for quite some time myself. " Varsos smiled sitting down on the bed next to Adyel. Adyel scooted a bit giving Varsos some room, still looking at the man." Really, why would you want to stay at the orphanage?" Adyel asked curiously, one eyebrow perched up. Varsos smiled again."I like the children, and the children like me. We sort of all have a small bond together." Varsos explained. "But, do you really like the children..." Adyel asked quietly. Varsos simply nodded his head."Of course I do, would you like to have Thea Flamming Lee out and and about making the kids do chores all day long?"Varsos smiled teasingly. Adyel shook his head no.

So many questions went through Adyles young mind. Questions of home and his mother. Questions about Thea and the orphanage. How come Caretaker Thea doesn't like to be around children?"Varsos seemed to have this question pondered throughout his mind as well." Well, actually I am not so sure of Thea. That isn't my place to speak of."But, if she wants to talk about it, she would if she wanted too." Varsos said with a small smile. Patting Adyle on the back."Now lets go have some breakfast, their are some nice kids around here you know." Adyel simply nodded, still feeling doleful, well about loosing his mother and then having her send him to Zeltiva to be raised by an orphanage. Hopefully someone will adopt him. Varsos gestured the young Kelvic to follow, traveling through hallways and staircases.

It didn't take long until they had had, reaches their destination. The Great Hall, more so loud then quiet. And more busy so it seems as well. Adyel began to feel a little queasy inside, but Varsos managed to get Adyel feel beneficial about himself. And plus, it isn't like Adyel will be staying at an Orphange for most of his life, will he? The one reason he had felt queasy inside was the amount of children, all of boys and girls chatting about with room mates and friends. Varsos looked around to find a nice group of kids to sit Adyel by. Adyel didn't really want to sit by anyone, but from his point of view he seems that he does not have a choice. "Well how about over there? [i/] Varsos pointed to a small group of kids chatting excitedly about to one another. Two girls perhaps and a boy, who looks about Adyels age.

[I]"Let's go see to them then.
Varsos said, as if an opinion did not matter. He seemed to be in a hurry, maybe wanting to chat with his cook caretakers in a lounge room or something. Probably because it might be too loud here. Adyel can't blame him, he wished that he could have a mute button or something. Or maybe being around kids the whole time wasn't necessarily what he wanted to do all day? Well, it isn't Adyels business to know what others are doing about their personal life."Ok, it is fine by me. I do not mind."Adyel replied with a small, yet shy-like smile. Varsos motioned Adyel to follow once again, and they soon met up with the small group of kids sitting at the table eating and chatting.

"Kids...I would like you to meet Adyel, he is new here. Maybe you can be his new friends? The kids gathered their attention towards Varsos and Adyel. One of the girls smiled at him. Adyel thought of it curiously and he wondered what the girl was thinking."Hey," the girl said. "Well, I guess there is no harm done with him joining, I'm I right on that, guys?" The girl asked her group of friends."It's fine." The others replied in unison, and the other boy chuckled a bit. "Ha, ha, we said it all together. That was fun." The boy said. Adyel took his seat next to the boy who seemed to be going back to eating. And to assume, that he is intent on eating, until he feels that he can not eat anymore. Adyel started eating'; eggs, sausage, bacon, and a lot of other things too. The way the food tasted, though, it reminded him of home. Once he finished he lost his appetite to eat. On the other hand, the girls were chatting about some weird things about boys and whom they like. Varsos was already off to go take care of some of his business as a caretaker, and rushed to grab a plate and hurried off to continue what he needed to get done.

It wasn't long till the children had had finished their breakfast. They soon hurried off to their classes. Adyel figured that he could just follow his new friends to the classes that they were going to go to. It only was a matter of time. The kids quickly scattered off to their classes as caretaker Lee ushered them out. Demanding them to leave, or else she gave each and every other kid a threat. Some silly one perhaps, but it still seemed quite...Scary.

OOCI'll do another post and then end the thread, but can I also get any ideas of how to send my young Orphan character out of Zeltiva, that would be great thanks.

[Farsons Home for Orphans] A New Beginning

The classes lasted longer then Adyel expected. Especially History, that was one class that took ages. Even though Varsos was teaching it, the lectures of Zeltivan history was intriguing yet too long and complicating to understand. Adyel wished that he can just go back to Riverfall where he had grown up. It was really hard for him to live as a orphan. He has enough money to go out and live on his own, but what would he do as an occupation? A courier, artist? Or is he to young to have a job? All of these things randomly filled the inside of his head as he walked through a wooden hallway that led to his dorm room. Usually people would go outside and enjoy their leisurement and avoid the caretakers, so that the caretakers will not admnonish them. A lot of them aren't very gregarious around the children. Adyel heard some rumors of how Zeltiva might be closed due to certain problems. Problems, that Adyel can not understand, therefore he is just a young kid and shouldn't have the ability to understand how the government works. He wished he could understand.

In a matter of chimes, Adyel reached his dorm and walked in after opening the wooden mechanism. The door creaked and moaned as if it was disturbed by the presence of Adyel. He closed the door and the door creaked as if it just made a compriseable agreement, 'if you leave me closed, I'll let you have privacy.' Adyel smiled. And walked towards his bed, where under it layed his artist toolkit. One that his mother had given him on his birthday... Before she.... Passed... Adyel held back a few tears. Sniffling already, just the thought of her mother dying hurt. She sent Adyel to the Orphanage because she didn't want him to witness her death. While standing by her side, she didn't want to make him feel guilty. He sat up in bed after retrieving his kit. He opened it up and found a carefully piece of paper folder into a square so that it could fit well within the box. Adyel unfolded it carefully. Being cautious around the edges of the parchment. The parchment revealed an unfinished drawing of a young female. He took the parchment and the toolkit to an unused desk and started to continue the drawing.

Chimes and ticks flew by as Adyel avoided his surroundings and focused with his drawing. He isn't a perfect artist, but it is good to have a hobby that he enjoyed. Did his mother want him to follow the path of the arts? Or did she just get him the toolkit so he can remember her? It is all so confusing to Adyel. Just as confusing with the governmental situations
He lacked the comprehension of obtaining certain knowledge that only people who have the ability to conjure and envelope the meanings of everything. Be started to travel into a deep conscious conversation with himself and stopped drawing immediately. Why would she just let Adyel go off with a random caravan group? What was the main reason for her to send him off? It's all to complicating. Adyel replied. He wanted to know all of the answers to all of his questions, but he is too afraid to ask. And now Zeltiva is supposed to be closing? Where should he go now? To another orphanage? Or someplace alone? That is enough. Adyel thought to himself.

The sound of the door creaked and moaned and it brought Adyel back to reality. As he jumped with a startle he dropped his pencil onto the ground. Adyel looked towards the door and found Varsos strolling in casually. He asks gently, "What's wrong? Why are you alone up here and not outside? Playing with the other kids." Adyel looked out the window behind him after he turned his small bode around to face the small frame. He had seen some kids down out in the courtyard playing tag or some sort of game. "I just, want to be alone... For awhile. " Adyel replied. Varsos didn't accept of this loneliness behavior.

" Well young man." Varsos said warm-like. "I guess your stuck with me then." Varsos said with a smile. Adyel thought glumly "Oh great. Why can't he understand?" But didn't say it to Varsos outloud. Adyel kept his gaze out on the window. Straining his pupils to look down on the other kids. Half of him wanted him to play with them, but the other half made him feel like he should run away. And never return to Zeltiva. He didn't want to be here. It didn't feel right for him.

He also did know that he is a Kelvic, but he didn't want to strip off his clothes and leave everything behind. He needed a way to escape this prison-like building. He felt to guarded. He wanted to be free. And not have to worry about responsibilities. Perhaps he can possibly hitch a ride with another caravan. Bribe them with Mizas?

That's it. Weren't there caravans whom traveled to Zeltiva a lot? Maybe he can sneak out tonight? Or later today. Alright the plan is set. All he has to do is not get caught. Varsos said quietly, feeling upset "Well, I guess I'll leave you be. I have to go and do some adult things." He slud off of the mattress and quickly stepped out of the room. Closing the door behind him, and with the door closing. Came more creaking and moaning sounds. As if saying 'Stop interrupting my sleep.' Adyel chuckled a bit at the thought. At least something can make him laugh.

He waited for what seemed a few hours. He had already put away his drawing things. He put those in his pack. Along with a weeks worth of rations. And the original toiletries. He also included his 600 Gold Mizas. He walked to where his coat had hung and put it on. He slung his pack over his shoulder and quietly stepped out of the room. Surprisingly, the door hadn't creaked while it opened. The door seemed like it was awake now and agreed to Adyels plan of leaving the orphanage. If the door had legs it would have had to.

"Maybe find a spot to actually sleep." Thought Adyel happily. He crept down the stairs and luckily he didn't see Thea at the front desk. But then the Bell to the front door is what had stopped Adyel in his footsteps. Once it activates he would possibly make a dash for it into the streets until he is seemingly far enough from the orphanage. "Three... Two.... One... Go" Adyel rushed through the door and dashed through the streets, only this time being greeted by a large-like amount of sunlight and buildings. He managed to spit the Gates to the city and hurried towards them.

He slowed his pace without looking back towards the orphanage. Once he had reached the Gates the guards had stopped him to a halt. They first had to check him. And they said that he was cleared. So Adyel exited the Gates without further worry. Now fully relieved that he didn't have to be in the city.

Fortunately, there was a caravan just ready to depart the city. Adyel hadn't known that they were going to Riverfall until he asked them."Are you guys, traveling to Riverfall?" A young female turned about, to face Adyel. "Aye, fortunate for you. What do you need?" She asked with a gentle tone. Adyel shifted position trying to gain sense of comfortability.

The female had a stunning frame. Built with muscles, strong enough to lift heavy weighted crates daily. Her facial features revealed gentleness and kindnesses. Adyel took his eyes to match the gaze of the woman. "I'm actually heading to Riverfall" The female smiled down onto Adyel, her aurburn colored hair shifting through the gusts of wind. Making her look like some kind of 'legend.'
"So you are then?" The lady said gently. "Do you have anything to pay for your ride, if perhaps we can let you ride along with us?" Adyel nodded with a smile. Even though he was taught to tell the truth, he didn't want to give them a lot of his change. He can offer a drawing of the lot of them.

"I don't have very much." He said with a weary tone, voice shaking a bit. "Hmmm, do you have 10 Gold Mizas at least?" Adyel nodded slowly.
I do."Adyel shuffled through his pocket. "Here." The Kelvic said simply. The young lady nodded and asked "What's your name?"
"Adyel." The boy replied. The girl nodded confidently. "You can ride with me. I'll lift you up, and you better hold on tight. Or else you might fall and get hurt. I won't allow that." Adyel nodded glumly and the lady hefted Adyel up and onto the stallion.

"Off to Riverfall then. We were starting to head our way there anyways." The lady said as she perched herself up onto the stallion. The rest of the caravan did the same and started heading off. Well, A new start to and old life. "Yeah, but without mom." Adyel thought glumly. And before he blinked, the set off towards Riverfall. Now all Adyel has to do is travel for a few or so do days.
