It seems she was not taken with you.
"So it would seem." Evalin whispered, lowering her hand and setting her hand on her hip, "What a pity. I like it when they squirm."
She is too base for such things. Evalin could feel him circling around the rocks through the tall grass, having taken on his Familiar form to try and get a better vantage of the creature.
"She could have at least been nicer about it." The Immortal said with an almost pouting tone to her voice, but she was still smiling, "Maybe it is because of the language barrier, or because she is nothing but an animal. I have always wondered how close to higher thought Kelvics were capable of."
She is escaping through the grass. Evalin could feel Tsenrika slightly ahead of her, past the rocks, and through his vision she saw the tip of a twitching black tail as it slipped between the stones and grass and into the night.
Is she? Rolling her neck Evalin pulled upon her djed once more, tracing the lines of her physical being with the silver hands of her mental will as she began to shape the model that had become nearly second nature to her. She felt the skin on her back rippling as mass was pulled from other areas of her body, collected and extended as bone and muscle and sinew to form two growing and stretching masses on her back. These lengthened further, double and then triple in size as thin membranes connected to delicate looking bones until large wings like those of a bat now stretched from her body as if they had always been there.
Two flaps that made the air sigh around her lifted the nuit so that she landed lightly on the stone the Kelvic had recently evacuated. Through her morphed eyes the night was clear, colorless but the details stood out in the limited light. Tsenrika traveled not too far through the grass, as Evalin could feel but not quite see him as he stayed low to the ground. After a few ticks of scanning Evalin was able to make out the very tips of what looked to be ears in the grass.
Crouching as she had seen the kelvic do, her arms elongated slightly so that her palms could rest flatly against the rough stones even as she balanced on the balls of her clawed feet. She then began another series of changes, dancing a delicate weave of her djed to adjust her vocal cords, stretching them and expanding both her lungs and her throat so that she could pull in a great chest full of air. Eyes never blinking the immortal stretched open her jaw, wider and wider as the magic vibrated through her very being until the opening was nearly twice that of what it once was. Then, when all was prepared Evalin rocked forward, expelling out all the gathered air into a wail that rocked the night and filled the silence with her unnatural call. Louder still, higher still, Evailn gave no mind to who or what else might be about for her eyes were focused only on one thing. The Kelvic.
While still releasing that ghastly wail Evalin beat the two great canopies of her wings, pushing off the rock with hands and feet to climb steadily into the air, catching upon the wind and soaring out and over where she thought the Kelvic was, an unnatural bat in the sky who had a taste for blood.
Follow close on the ground, and I shall pursue from the sky. Evalin commanded, the amusement returning as a hint of excitement filled her ancient soul, I am curious to see what the creature does.
