Sorry for the Delay folks! I know most of you were waiting on the calendar to get started on winter events. I will have the Winter Blaze posted tonight or tomorrow morning. It will be a multiple part thread, some moderated, some not. I'll have a few contests in there for folks as well so you can generate some threads making costumes, pot-luck dishes, etc.

Quick note:

If you are considering making a PC just to play in the Powers of Winter storyline this season here in Riverfall, please do not. That goes for newbies that prefer other cities but are considering starting out in RF just to cash in on the big prize. I can pretty much see right through most of you. I am running this plotline for the die-hard Riverfall PCs that stick through thick and thin and never complain. I don't mind if others drop in to give it a try. But don't be the person that goes for the power rather than the RP. We are here to tell a story and have some fun doing so. We aren't here to grab power as fast and as painless as possible. I'll still make you work for it. And at the end of the day, if there's a chance you just came to RF for the chance to get a leg up with your character and plan to leave the city right after winter, you won't be leaving with your superpower no matter how many words you wrote.

I just want to make that utterly clear BEFORE you commit to being here just for some character sheet boost.

This winter looks set to be amazing though XD Hair colour swaps and doors freezing, sounds like plenty of time for PCs to make friends. . . Along with the 24 hour love potion day.

Hi Folks!

I realize some of you are waiting for me to post the big event. It will either go in tonight or tomorrow first thing. But feel free NOT to wait until then to get things going. Time is precious and three months slips by faster than you realize. I'd love you all to start manifesting your gifts at the beginning during the Winter Blaze, but if you post threads in fluid time after that, use them! You don't have to go in chronological order! If you don't have a gift, apply for one. Make sure its something you can feasibly do! There's a lot of good ideas in that thread, but there are some that aren't manageable either. Make sure you can strike a balance!

Also, I have the HD on a tight leash and its all caught up. It's been caught up daily now since I've been working on it throughout the day as tickets come in and I hand out responses. For the site being not that busy these days the HD sure is as full as ever. It's slightly unbelievable.

The good news is we have some new graders. I want to thank the people that have been ripping through RF's grades, especially Nivel. He's doing a heck of a good job.

If anyone wants to do some RF Development we're going to jump start some new programs there. I think the perk points system will finally go in game-wide where I can have more of a handle on it. It got yanked because, as predicted, the ST's got a bit carried away and there ensued a perk point arms race where if you developed for them, you got more points than the original perk point system allowed for. And because they didn't have permission to increase the point values in their domains (and kept increasing it as it bled outward through more and more domains) it got yanked because my vision was a uniform perk point system not an arms race of "My domain is better to develop for because I give more points" bullshit system. Yea. That irritated me a bit. So its coming back, but game wide when I can figure out how I want to admin it so its fairly awarded.

If you had points, I'm sorry, but your going to loose them. You aren't the only one. I had a PC in Lhavit from way before that had over a hundred perk points for location/concept development. Her locations are still up but not credited to her these days. That's irritating too. We need to fix this broken system so that people get credited with writing areas and just don't get things reposted under new staff names. To me that's no better than plagiarism.

Anyhow... moving forward. POST POST POST! Do open events! Those are going to count and count big towards your words this season. And I should have a ton of new opportunities for players who need thread ideas after my main Winter Blaze Event is posted most likely tomorrow.

Also if you need WAGES paid... turn them in to the wage request thread. I'll catch it up tomorrow. I'm getting more and more back into the swing of things and this admin stuff is getting easier and faster to do. It's amazing how much easier it is to babysit the website when your feeling 110% and not sick all the time.

Oh! I can't wait for the development to get going! Although I mostly develop plants and animals really XD and the odd local legend.

I meant to ask, wages and such? We submit those for grading once a season yes?

They go in the Seasonal Wage Request Thread in Behind The Waterfall. Usually you can do them at the end of the season to get paid for that season before the season change, but I accept them anytime you have the requirements done to get paid.

You can get approval for other little things in there too like commissions etc.

Is it problematic if her powers have already manifested?
Are those commissions that are approved in the seasonal wage thread ones for NPCs?

I like the power you gave Ayatah, I was wondering when someone was going to do something like that. Its a power that lends itself to plot nicely as apposed to just being a cool thingy your character can do.
