MIZAHAR MUSIC APPRECIATION \m/>.<\m/

So! I want to start a thread for music lovers of any and all kinds to share music together! I welcome discussions, and disagreements, even ;) Here's what I've been listening to recently.

Band/artist: Martin Carthy.
Track/Album:

Thoughts: Martin Carthy is one of those greats in English folk music, and this track in particular is one of my favourites because... well, the lyrics. Basically this guy who wants to make a woman cry(/love him, I can't quite tell... O.o), and she won't. So he rapes her, kills all her family, locks her up without food or water, makes her give birth on the floor and all the while she won't cry. And in the end the guy falls in love with her, but she never once cries for him.

So it's preeeetty dark, like most folk songs that I know (I know a good few Swedish/Norwegian folk songs where children are put in barrels filled with nails and then rolled down hills...) but that's what I love. Because it's so full of energy, and violence and imagery most of all. It's a story in song, and it's something I like listening to as I write.

Even if folk music isn't your thing, I'd recommend to take a listen. You might find you like it. Or you might find you hate it, but either way, you've explored something new :)

And I urge you to write your own little thing about something you like listening to, or something you listen to while you write, whichever's your preference. I've seen various people who put theme songs for their PC's, and that intrigues me, so write about that if you want :)

MONGOL METAL! \m/>.<\m/

If anyone is interested... I have an eclectic taste in music. This one contains classic 'screamo' alongside well... throat singing and traditional Mongolian instruments. :3

Band/artist: Tengger Cavalry.
Track/Album:

Thoughts:This is such an awesome band. I am a real fan of folk metal combo's, but I most only listen to the likes of Eluveitie, or Finntroll, Turisas, Niburta... which are all Nordic type folk (apart from Niburta). I can't even remember how I found Tengger Cavalry, it was probably either spotify or facebook, but either way I'm glad I did because it's awesome. I suppose I like listening to folk metal because it gets me in the mood. Although it does make me always want to get a more badass character, with fight-y skills or something. Anyways. xD

Again, please write views or something :D Also, I will make this more Miz-themed, as there's plenty of stuff I listen to which is Miz related, in terms of what I think the music of different places sounds like.

Band/Artist: Imagine Dragons
Track/Album: Release (Smoke + Mirrors)

Thoughts:

Oh boy, I like this thread already! I'll slip in and be the first one to post :P Alright, let's get to it. I've always been greatly inspired by music, and I'm open to almost every style out there. My characters are often inspired by music as well, and depending on what I listen I often write differently as well. Surely, most of you can relate.

I've never listened Imagine Dragons before, salve for that Radioactive song that tormented the radio some time ago. This song, however, was linked to me by a very dear friend of mine with whom I shared a beautiful story through role-play (as we writers usually do). My characters often tend to share characteristics most times: coldness, distance and anger. Thus, even if this was not the character the song was meant to represents, I still believe it fits Wikus very well. I really enjoy listening to it, and it has never let me down.

I hope you guys enjoy it. :)

Band/Artist:
The Birthday Massacre
Track/Album:
Album - Pins and Needles/ Song - Pale

Thoughts:

Well What a way to break in eh?
The birthday massacre. A band I was introduced too only as of last year and has quickly sprung to be one of my favourites. The band is one I listen too often and helps me focus a lot. Especially with this character. There’s a distinct contrast between the singers voice and the overall style of music leading to a very odd but melodious tune. In general I like the sounds as it mixes the lighter vocals of softer music with the metal sounds I absolutely adore.

This song Pale is one of the trifecta of favourites that I have from these guys the other two are “red stars” and “midnight” both of which are equally awesome. If you get a chance to check these guys out I highly recommend it.

Band/Artist:

The Pretty Reckless.

Track/Album:
Track: Going to hell / Album:Going to hell

Thoughts:

Well Just to clarify yes I do listen to a lot of metal track and as such I've found it rather awesome to listen to females metal artists. There a definitive uniqueness to their voices and sometimes they don't quite gel with the music that's going on in the future I'm sure I'll throw out a few more of these for right now though I've about 5 lined up.

Still i digress.

The pretty reckless are a interesting band, most of their music is dark and sounds a lot like they don't give a damn(kinda obvious from the title of the band and most of their song names). Still I kind of like listening to these guys when I'm writing for villainous characters or for more dark situations. feel free to give this a listen and i'l have am few more coming in the near future.

Also if anyoen has any metal band requests for more odd music i can and will.

I don't remember where I got this song from, but it is the first on my playlist, so I often end up listening to it first. It's easy to sing to and a pretty nice tune. I don't know anything else or have a real opinion on it other than the song is good to sing your lungs apart too when you are in a traffic jam xD. I'm no music critic, so that is all I have to say. Enjoy!

And also, becuase everyone loves this song:

Acousting Punk

Band/Artist: Antiflag
Track/Album: Broken Bones/The General Strike
Thoughts: I choice an acoustic, not because it was a throw to be different but because I find it does these guys a ton of justice and this song is amazing. It makes me want to cry all the time, this is the song I wrote several of Ball's emotional based threads with and it is always my go to for those sort of threads.

I found that these guys do amazing live, acoustic, and traditional electric based instruments. But this song really is just plain amazing acoustically.

Graders Please Note :
As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

I will be handling all Ball related posts on Mondays @ 1800 my time *

Thoughts: A bit of classical music is great, this particular piece reminds me of The Shire in Lord of the Rings, the quaint little hamlet seems like a perfect example of peace, and this symphony is amazing for writing calm threads.

Sanctified with dynamite / Blood of the saints

Well this is me posting again on Alex, and powerwolf...Where do i go with these guys ?I discovered them only recently and i love their stuff as it's got that feeling of a metal church. I'm not a religious man but damn it, if church was like this I'd go with more regularity hell I'd just go.

Still i love the band as a while and the way they include the organ with the normal metal is something that give everything a feeling of grandeur and size.

This is the 3rd entry on my cruscade of seven i will introduce a new wave of metal and hopefully you people love this stuff as much as I do eventually :D
