Amelia's previously luxurious lifestyle is reflected in her appearance: her skin is smooth, soft and glowing. Her blonde hair is almost always styled in line with the latest fashion, and her accessories are always equally as fashion forward. Even her clothes have a certain Je ne sais quoi about them, having been designed and created specifically for her or by the girl herself. Her green eyes, inquisitive and quick to notice a fashion faux pas, are typically lined with kohl whilst her lips are tinted pink or red, depending on the occasion. She is slim in build and not overly tall, standing at 5 foot 3 inches without heels. Amelia, however, carries herself as if she were both taller and more regal: her mannerisms are aloof and well rehearsed, having been raised to behave in such a way to reflect her parents' once-upon-a-time wealth and success.
She has no tattoos, believing that one's skin is a canvas that should be left as pure as possible, but both ears are pierced with simple studs that she wears every day. In more recent times, Amelia has started to wear more homemade clothes. As such, on close examination one might notice the odd crooked stitch or fraying edge. She finds this utterly horrifying, and should someone comment on her clothes (even to pay a genuine compliment), she is likely to become flustered and humiliated.
Injuries :
Amelia regards herself as the hapless victim of her father's adulterous and sinful ways. She fails to see, or ignores, the role her demanding and spoilt nature may have had in driving him into the arms of a simpler woman. Yes, she is impatient and testing, and believes that the things she wants in life should be given to her with little effort on her behalf. But ultimately Amelia's flaws are the doing of her upbringing. Her parents doted on her without any real discipline, perpetuating her spoilt nature and brattish ways.
She is incredibly passionate, but somewhat bitter, about righting that wrongs done to her by her lecherous father. Slowly, Amelia is learning what it means to be an independent young woman, with a career of her own and passions and determinations driving it. She still longs for the luxuries that she once had, and misses them dearly. Even her snobbish nature has given way only slightly since the change in her lifestyle: she still harshly judges those who dress poorly and live a less than pristine existence. Modesty is still not something Amelia understands, but slowly she is starting to appreciate the meaning of the word compromise.
Amelia had, until reason seasons, lived as privileged a life as she could wish for. Her parents were both successful in their respective careers - a scholar and a painter - and thus could afford to gift their precious daughter with the luxury of a safe, loving home. She grew up surrounded by love and materialistic goods: stylish clothes, good food, silver cutlery, the latest toys. Though Amelia was aware that there were others who lacked the many luxuries she took for granted, such individuals were an unknown entity to her: they simply existed in an entirely different world to her.
That changed when her father, a respected scholar in their home city, was found to be having adulterous relations with a woman far younger than he. The harlot in question was, actually, a close friend of Amelia's. When confronted, Amelia's father admitted that he desired to leave his current family to move away with his new lover. And, mere days later, he did just that.
Since then, Amelia has had to adapt to an entirely new way of life. Without her father's income and support, her mother failed to create any new pieces of art, instead turning stagnant and depressed. The home Amelia grew up in was sold, as were almost all of her father's belongings (at least those that he did not take with her). All luxuries that were once familiar to Amelia were snatched out of the young woman's hands, and instead she was expected to work.
Amelia now finds herself facing a challenge she never expected to have to fight: earning her keep, scrimping and saving.
