Description "Alex Common" Alex thoughts "Myrian" "Fratava" "Others"
The first set of four yukmen went down without a massive issue first having thinned the numbers, a well-placed arrow oft did the job there he found. However there was something deeply unsettling about the loud crack and the wet slap of Irathia’s hammer pulverising the poor creature’s skull. He felt a deep churn in his stomach. He preferred blades and arrows because simply watching things explode like that was unsettling. He could feel his breakfast rising in his throat just looking at it and instead muscled it back down turning away to look over towards the now distant “yuk” sounds. Three. Three more to deal with. Could have been a lot worse like his first outing against the yukmen. Alex gripped the dial blade in his hands tightly, this wasn’t his best weapon by far but he could use it.
Within seconds the new trio were upon them Rivalle lead one away into the trees leaving Alex with a big ugly one. Alright Alex you can do this. You took down a few before what’s one more? Alex did the opposite instead of running away from the beast Alex through to spook it and run towards it. As he reached the yukman he brought the double edged blade across the edge catching on a large boulder. The yukman let out a loud scream and smack the blade out of Alex’s hands. Instinctually Alex pulled back Now disarmed or at least he would have been if he didn’t carry such a larger arsenal. Reaching a hand over his shoulder Alex pulled free the large great sword across his back. Less than a tick to draw the blade and the yukman was already swiping at him. Alex held the edge of the blade in his other steel clad hand using the thickness of the blade to block the strikes. He found out qquickly that he was too slow. The fist of the yukman cracked into the centre of his plate, knocking the wind out of him he dropped to one knee and rolled out of the way as the hands came down again, he reached behind him and tossed a throwing dagger out. Catching the creature off guard it looked down at it’s chest where the blade was now protruding from and screamed at him again.
The beast rocketed towards him and trike to kick him in the chest. Alex stepped to the side, the edge of the kick skimming his torso. He coughed, and winced forwards. He whirled his blade around and using the full weight of it and his body he cleft one of the Yukman’s legs off. The creature stumbled and fell. Pushing the blade in Its chest deep into one of it’s lungs. Alex coughed and wheezed half carrying half dragging the great sword. Standing over it it flailed on the ground. He took a deep breath and picked up the sword before bringing it down over the beasts head, splitting the mass in two. Alex then dropped to one knee, trying to catch his breath, and rationalizing to himself that these were monsters, not men, they were born of the dirt and not mothers.
A chime passed before Alex moves, his sternum screaming at him, and his ribs roaring with anger. His hand shook as he held still. Rivalle had dealt with his and Irathia looked to be done with hers. He still needed a tick to deal with the shooting pains. Perhaps he should consider another weapon? Perhaps one with a longer reach just in case of situations like this.
