Riding with a friend (Irathia)

"Mhm now hold still right there and let her come to you. The only time horses are known to bite are when they are angry or should you be holding food wrong. When hand feeding a horse always keep your hand open wide and hold it steady. Never shy away from a horse when offering food," Jade said with a smile and patted Diria's neck.

Jade softly cooed to the mare as the horse watched the nervous human. Diria looked at the girl but stayed calm with her rider beside her. Moving her head forward the large mare smelled the hand of the new comer. She turned her head away and began to graze once more.

"Good girl Diria. Her just turning away is a good thing. It shows that she does not see you as a threat. You can move closer and start by gently touching her neck to let her know you are beside her then you can start stroking her neck to let her get used to you," Jade said with a smile and beckoned the girl a little closer to the mare getting her used to being around the horse.

Irathia smiled slightly as the horse sniffed her palm, the warm breath of the horse on her palm. It tickled her hand slightly, it was something she enjoyed the feeling. She smiled as the horse turned away and continued to graze. That wasn't that bad. Irathia thought as she stared at the horse.

Irathia walked up to the horse as Jade said she kept her hand flat and placed it on the horse's neck, petting it slightly. The horse's fur was smooth under Irathia's palm, like a fine fabric... Just alive... It was nice defiantly something she could get used to. She started to wonder why she was so intimidated by the horse in the first place, it seemed easy enough when she looked at other people ride. Also it's not like horses can really hurt some one, or at least she assumed that.

"Is it hard riding a horse?" Irathia asked as she continued to pet the majestic creature.

"I don't think so but my view of the world was seen from the back of a horse. I helped a guy out last time I came here, and he was unsure of himself. This caused the horse to be just as nervous when it walked. He was trying to over correct himself when the stallion walked causing him to sway. When the horse began to pick up speed the rider found it easier for him to stay up right because instead of swaying he was bouncing," Jade explained with a smile and petted Diria as she just ignored the two people.

Jade pulled out a leather tie and braided her hair over one shoulder before putting the leather tie on the end. Diria raised her head when her ears twitched at the sound of approaching hooves. Jade backed up some when the mare jerked her head up staring down the mare that was being lead forward. Jade looked at her confused then looked in the direction that the mare was just intensively staring at.

"There would be your mount," Jade said with a smile and clicked her tongue getting Diria's attention.

Behave, calm Jade signed in pavi while staring into the mare's eyes.

Irathia smiled as she saw Ophelia walk back with a caramel colored horse, about the size of Diara, just a bit smaller. The horse had cream colored spots on it's torso and one long big on it's neck, it spilled onto the mane, which resulted in a lock of the mane being cream colored. The horse already had a saddle on, which made a small clinking sound with each step.

"Here you are Irathia!" Ophelia said, a big grin on her face.

Irathia smiled and walked up to the horse, holding out her hand to the horse like she did with Diria. The horse brought it's nose down and did a couple of sniffs, which it proceeded to look away and sneeze slightly. It just sat there and started to graze as Irathia began to pet it's neck.

"How do you mount a horse?" Irathia asked to Jade, looking back at her as she pet the horse. "Or is there more you need to explain."

"I havent used one of these before so I guess that you would need to put your foot here and just swing your other leg over," Jade said walking over and showing her which foot to put on the weird contraption.

Jade takes the lead and smiled letting her get settled on the horse. She wanted to make sure that the girl was ready to go before she started moving.

"Tell me when you are ready to start," Jade said with a smile.

She was used to seeing new comers on horses. The beautiful blond hoped that the mare was used to having a rider on her back.

"Since I am unsure of how to use this thing you will have to get one of your order to show you how to put it on. Now you must remember though these two are calm and accepting of us. Not all the horses you will meet are going to be as easy going," Jade said not wanting to scare her but to just warn her so she isn't caught off guard.

Irathia smiled as she walked to the horse, and after following what Jade and a lot of help from Ophelia, she managed to sit... Sort of comfortably, on the horse. Irathia patted the horse's neck as she just sat there, not sure what to do next. "I am ready... What do I do." She asked, smiling a little bit as the horse did a soft sneeze.

Irathia was excited, she wasn't a hundred percent sure why but her heart was beating quickly for some reason. She wasn't sure if it was because it was a brand new thing she hasn't even considered doing, or she just flat out really liked horses... Or a amalgamation of the two. She patted the horse again and it shook it's head in a response.

"I hope this isn't that hard." She mumbled to her self.

Jade smiled gently at the smaller woman and let the mare smell her hand. She looked to the woman and got the lead from the older woman that had come up to her earlier.

“There is nothing to be worried about. The only time that riding gets difficult is when you pick up speed or have to jump over something. But first comes walking,” Jade said with a smile and motioned for Diria to stretch her legs and graze where she wishes.

Jade clicked her tongue and the mare began to walk forward following the blond Drykas ahead of her. She smiled and moved in front of the mare when she tried to get ahead. The mare snorted and when the girl would get closer causing her to slow down.

“Just make sure you don't over correct yourself or you could very well send yourself flying to the ground. What I am doing is showing that she has to stay behind me while I lead you two around. There is a certain level of understanding that you will come to know as you ride more,” Jade explained with a soft smile looking back to the girl.

Jade smiles and moves over some giving the mare her room as she stays behind the human this time. She smiles brightly seeing the mare behave as she had been shown.

“Good girl beautiful,” Jade said in praise to the mare as her ear twitched in the direction that the human spoke.

Jade turned her head back forward waiting for the word from the young woman on the horse to say she was ready to pick up the pace.
